We just finished reading The Great Gatsby in my American Literature class and everyone is talking mad shit on Jay Gatsby, but I loved his characterization. He was a hopeless romantic, he was absolutely infatuated by Daisy and would have done anything for her and he did. He left everything behind for her once and was ready to do it again. He may have been a little overbearing and corrupted, but his love for Daisy was a pure kind. He wasn't a good person morality wise, but he knew what he wanted and wouldn't stop until he got it.
