Tony stark x reader - Someone you loved

This is another for @sdavid09 inspired challenge :) the song is someone you loved by Lewis Capaldi

I’m going under and this time I fear there’s no one to save me

This all or nothing really got a way of driving me crazy

You watched from across the bar of the tower as Tony talked to the beautiful woman. It used to be you, you wished it was still you. But Tony has already made up his mind. And there was nothing you could do about it. Not anymore.

You’d been shattered by Tony, the man you thought you loved.

“You can’t keep staring at him.”

Flicking your gaze up, you met Steve’s understanding eyes and sighed. Turning back to the drink in your hand.

“I know Stevie, I know. I’m just.. I’m just going around in circles you know?”

Steve placed his hand on your shoulder and removed the drink from your hand with an understanding smile.

“I do, and this isn’t helping.”

Steve had been there with you, every night for the past week when you headed to the bar. He would take the drink from your hand and take you to the balcony where the pair of you would watched the city skyline.

“You’re a great person.” You smiled.

Wrapping your arms around him, you sighed in content, feeling his arms gently wrap around you.

“I’m always here for you.” He whispered.

It’s easy to say

But it’s never the same

Smiling up at Steve, you let go and started to walk back to your. When the door closed you let the facade fall. You stumbled over to your bed and collapsed onto it.

Sure, it was easy to say you were okay. But nothing felt the same, everything was different.

I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain

The next day you found Tony in the kitchen making coffee, you steeled your nerves and walked over.

“Can we talk?”

“Sure.” He smiled.

Tony pushes a cup of coffee over and you nodded greatfully, taking a sip of the bitter liquid.

“I… I still love you Tony..” you mumbled.

“I don’t feel the same. I’m sorry (Y/N), I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain.”

You looked down, placed the cup on the counter and turned around.

“Okay.. it’s fine.”

Now the day bleeds

Into nightfall

And you’re not here

To get me through it all

I let my guard down

And then you pulled the rug

I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved

You shoved your hands in your pockets and bit down the tears until you got to your room. Locking your door, you let them fall. Slowly sliding down the wall to the floor where you buried your head in your arms and cried.

Before you knew it, day had become night. You were all cried out so you sat there felt lost. Steve had come by a few times but left you to yourself.

Tony was usually the one to help you feel happy, but now that he was the reason you were sad, you didn’t know what to do. You’d trusted Tony, and he threw it back in your face.

Taking a deep breath, you stood up on shaky legs and opened the door. Walking down the hall you reached a familiar door and knocked on it. A shirt less Steve opened it with a towel around his neck.

“Steve.. I…”

You couldn’t eat the words out, but you didn’t need to. Steve quickly pulled you into a hug and closed the door.

Tony hadn’t really thought about his choice. As soon as he doubted his love for you he ended it. But now, after breaking up with woman he though was the one he was again doubting himself.

He didn’t know who to talk to, the only person who understood him was you. He had no one. Because of his stupid choice, as he laid in his bed he was understanding how lonely it was to sleep without you.

Now, I need somebody to know

Just to know how it feels

Tony was avoiding you, he spent most of his time in the lab with Bruce.

“You can’t keep hiding.” Bruce mumbled.

“I’m not.”

“Yes you are.”

Tony frowned but didn’t respond causing Bruce to walk over and take the phone out his hands. Bruce looked at it before showing it to Tony again.

“Looking at pictures won’t get her back.”

“I know…”

It’s easy to say but it’s never the same

I guess I kinda liked the way you helped me escape

It had been a few months and you were better. You were happy, you didn’t think of Tony as a lover anymore, you saw him as just a friend.

“Can we talk?” Tony asked.

“Sure.” You nodded.

Tony took a seat next to you on the couch and took a deep breath while he fiddled with his hands. He had talked to Bruce before coming up and he knew what he wanted to say.

“Can you give me a second chance? I made a mistake (Y/N). I thought what I have with her was love but it wasn’t. She wasn’t you, I want you. I’m so, so sorry.”

“I guess I kinda liked the way you helped me escape.” You shrugged, “we have a hard job. And I though what we had was love but really it was an escape I’m sorry Tony.”

Now the day bleeds

And you’re not here

To get me through it all

Tony felt the stab in his heart as you walked away. Was that what he sounded like when he said you just numbed his pain?

As he walked to the bar, Tony poured a drink and sat there for hours. He never touched it, and as the sunset, he had never yearned to touch someone more than how much he wanted to hold you.

I let my guard down

And then you pulled the rug

Tony Stark had fallen in love and he threw it all away. He trusted you with everything, but now your gone.

“This was how she felt.” Steve said as he took a seat next to Tony.

“I.. I let my guard down and I ruined it…” Tony whispered.

And I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes

I fall into your arms

I’ll be safe in your sound till I come back around

Another few weeks and Tony noticed how close you and Steve were. He couldn’t blame you though, Steve was a nice guy, kind, caring and in tonys opinion the complete opposite of himself.

“Hey (Y/N)?” Tony asked one day.

“Yeah Tony?”

“Can I… can I have one last hug?”

You didn’t respond at first but Tony felt you wrap your arms around him and he smiled hugging back gently.

“Thank you…” he whispered.

For now the day bleeds

Into nightfall

And you’re not here

To get me through it all

I let my guard down

And then you pulled the rug

“I’d like to say something guys.”

The whole team went silent as the watched you. Tony couldn’t take his eyes of the bright smile on your face.

“Steve and I are dating.”

Everyone cheered and clapped, Tony found himself happy for you. Even though it wasn’t him you were with, that’s all he wanted for you, for you to be happy.

The team congratulated you and Steve and Tony pulled you aside. You could see the pain in his eyes but he still smiled for you.

“I’m glad your happy.”

“Thanks Tony. You’ll find someone, I know you will.”

But that someone won’t be you.. he thought.

“Maybe. Have a good night.”

Tony kissed the top of your head and headed down to his lab where he got lost in his work.

Tony missed being the person he loved.

As he got lost in his work nearly every night, Tony found himself thinking of you. How beautiful you were in the morning.

How cute it was when you were happy, how smart you were.

“I’m so stupid…”

A year past and Tony still found himself wanting you. As he stood at the engagement party for you and Steve he felt a mixture of hate and happiness.

Hate because it wasn’t him, but happy because you were happy. Tony quickly downed his drink and headed towards his car. Sitting in the drivers side, he covered his face with his hands.

“I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved..”

Tony Stark x Reader

Tittle: Secret

Warning: Language

Summary: After Pepper quit her job to focus on her life married with Rhodey, Tony Stark hired a very beautiful and talented lady to become his new secretary. After a while, the infamous Tony Stark fall in love with his secretary, (y/n) who used to be his someone in his pass.

Third Person Pov:

(Y/n) is looking for a new job after she quit her recent one. She had been working at the company for about 8 years but after the new CEO of the company have been replace, her life become terrible. Her boss always talk dirty to her and sometime harass her by touching and giving her a dirty look.

She had tried to report to the police but she was threatened by her boss saying that she would regret it if she do anything against him. So only one thing that come to her mind. Quit.

But now she slightly regret it. You know, seeking for a job is not easy. Now, she had been searching for a job for almost 2 month. She also running out of money now because she has a responsibility to cover for and her saving is getting thinning.

Now she is looking trough her laptop, filling the void to become a secretary at Stark Industries. Well, she hope she will be call to at least attend an interview.

One week has passed and now she is receiving a phone call from Stark Industries telling her that she can come to the Stark Tower for interview tomorrow morning. She is dancing happily in her room. But is this the right decision to make? If this is the only chance she got to cover all their needs, than she will do whatever it takes.

Next day at Stark Tower,

(Y/n)'s Pov:

I'm so nervous. I never been here before. I've sit down at the waiting room for about 1 hour now but my name still not been call. I'm wearing a white blouse and a black pencil skirt. I want to look professional. People say that first impression can change your mind.

But all the participant that going to be interview are wearing a tight skirt with a top that reveal much of their skin. Some are wearing a neon tank top that can blind my eyes. But whatever, they must looking for our skill right? Not our sexiness.

But who am I to be judge? This is Stark Industries we are talking about. The company that run by Tony Stark who declare himself as "I. Am. Iron. Man" with a tittle 'genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist'. He sure is looking for some sexy chick who willingly to give her body to him. Ah, now I start to regret coming here.

"(Y/n) Parker you are next." One of the pretty lady say to me with a genuine smile plastered on her face.

I smile back before stand up from my sit and walk to the one and only Tony Stark's office. I knock on the door asking for permission and was answered by 'come in'.

"Have a sit." He say mentioning to a chair in front of him without looking at me. Rude!

"So, why do you want to be my secretary?" He ask still looking at his phone.

"What do you think so?" I ask back. Wow, I'm brave am I? I think I make a wrong move. But whatever he is rude.

"Excuse me?" He ask now looking at me.

Tony's pov:

I'm fed up to interview people. All the participant just crap. Usually, Pepper is the one who do this shit but now, she is not here. I start to getting bored and decided to entertain myself by playing with my phone. Then the next one come and I ask her to have a sit.

"So, why do you want to be my secretary?" I ask still looking at my phone.

"What do you think so?" She ask back.

"Excuse me?" I ask back now looking at her.

Holly cow! She is here sitting in front of me crossing her arm like a boss. God, but still she is beautiful like old day.

"(y/n)? What are doing here?" I ask.

I know that is the stupid question to ask right now but I'm nervous tho. What did I say again? I'm nervous? Nah. No way! Tony Stark never nervous!

"To a genius like you, you sure a pretty dumb." She say before rolling her eyes.

"Hold on. Who is the boss here? Last time I check, I'm still the boss." I say sarcastically.

"Whatever. Just interview me already. If I'm not admitted I can find other job somewhere else." She say about to stand up form her sit.

"Wait."

"You're accepted." I say receiving a wide smile from her.

"Really? Thank you Tony!" She say happily giving me a hug.

God, she is not changing. She still the same old (Y/n). I hug her back, giving her a pat on her back. Suddenly she realize that she is giving me a hug and awkwardly release me from her tight hug. I chuckle looking at her behavior.

"Umm sorry." She say sheepishly.

"So when will I start working?" She add and I grin.

Tony's Pov:

It has been 2 month since (Y/n) work as my secretary. I have been hitting on her for the rest of the month and every time I hit on her, she just roll her eyes but sometimes she play along and getting me blushing like crazy. I don't know why am I blushing every time she decided to play along to flirt with me. Am I in love? Huh, maybe.

I can tell that she still like me but she don't want to show her true feeling. For your information, me and her had been a thing in college but after 2 years she disappear without words. What left only the letter that she give to me through Rhodey.

Tony,

You know, I never like someone like I like you right?

I never have an actual relationship in my life. Gosh, I'm 19 and never had a boyfriend beside you. But whatever, now I had one. I had you.

Tony, you. You are the only man that I date. I give you my everything but you pay my everything by cheating on me but that's okay.

I'm not the one who hold the grudge. I hope you happy with her.

And after you read this letter, I'm begging for you to not searching for me. But if we are meant to meet each other in the future, I hope you know that I'm still the same old (Y/n).

I felt guilty after I read her letter. How can I not see that she like me so much? She know about the cheating part but how come she act so calm like that? Like it was never happen? For me that was the longest relationship I have. After she left, I always find a way to contact her. I went to her house but no one was there. I was told that they had move to somewhere else, far from New York. 3 month after that, I give up. I think she really want to cut her connection with me. Of course it is because of what I have done to her. For god sake, I cheated on her with her best friend!

Right now I'm starring at her doing her work through the tinted glass. She is typing something at her laptop. Face focusing on the task that she have. Sometimes she bit her lower lips while her fingers dancing around on the keyboard searching for the right latter. After she finish her work, a wide smile plastered on her beautiful face. Oh how I love that smile.

"Mr. Stark, can I come in?" I heard she say after knocked on my door.

"Sure."

"Here is some paper that you have to sign. Oh and can I leave early today? I have something important to do." She say and I nod.

Well, what is so important that she want to leave early today?

"Umm okay. By the way, may I ask what is that important thing?"

"Well, I have a date." She say looking at her shoes on the floor.

And that sentence hit me so much. Well, I didn't see it coming. Am I too late now? Maybe. What can I say? She have been move on a long time ago and whose false is it. You Tony, YOU!

"Um okay. Have fun!" I say looking at her with my fake smile. I'm disappointed but I can't let her know about it.

"Okay thank you tho. See you tomorrow then." She say before heading toward the door and leave.

She look so happy Tony, and look who is the one who broken now? But Tony, you're a Stark and Stark get what he want. Now or never Tony, now or never!

Third Person pov:

After (Y/n) walk out the tower, Tony decided to follow her. At first, (Y/n) stop at her apartment. 1 hour later she start to drive her car to Queens. And to his surprise, he know this road. This road seems familiar to him. Ah right, Peter. This is the same road to Peter's flat. Maybe her date live at the same flat as Peter's.

After not so long, Tony witness (Y/n) walk with a man who's wearing a baggy hoodie. The man is quiet short, about the same height as (Y/n). He look like a kid. Why did (Y/n) date a short man? Well, he is short too but he never admit it. He is handsome and a fucking billionaire and what so special about this stick guy? Yes you heard me right. Tony call this man a stick guy because to him, that man look like a stick form afar. Stupid I know. But do you know what, that it is not the stupidest thing he saw that day.

After (Y/n) and that stick guy hop into (Y/n)'s car, they drove to one of a restaurant near the flat. Waiting for the couple to enter the restaurant, Stark grab a cap from the back seat, along with a brown lather jacket to cover himself from being notice.

When he saw the couple sat on their table, he walk into the restaurant and sit near (Y/n)'s table and quickly hide his face with the menu's book. He take a quick peek trough the book and what surprise him is that (Y/n) is sitting with a brown hair with a set of brown eyes and that smile, he recognize that smile. His kid smile. His Peter. His Spider-ling. His protege!

"What the hell?!" He say out loud making all the attention toward him. He is still starring at (Y/n)'s table. Eyes wide and jaw dropping.

"Er, Mr. Stark? What are you doing here?" Peter ask.

"Yeah Tony, what are you doing here?"

(Y/n) ask looking at Tony.

"So this is your date?" Tony ask.

He still can't believe that (Y/n), his ex dating a 15 years old kid. His kid. What the flipping hell?

"You stalk me?!" (Y/n) now asking, crossing her hand.

"NO!" He protest only to receive a glare for the woman.

"Okay maybe yes." He say sheepishly.

"But that is not the problem! The problem is why are you date a kid? MY KID!" Tony send a glare toward (Y/n).

He can't believe she have such a bad taste. She is fucking 34 years old and she is dating a teenage boy that as young as her son!

"Your what?" (Y/n) ask confused. Tony's kid? Since--? How?

(Y/n) is now scare that she start to shaking. Her eyes is now glassy. Lips trembling, face pale and she look like she want to faint. Her breathing start to shorter. Her heart pumping rapidly in her body. She is shock and not long after that, she passed out. But Why? Well that is your job to find out.

Tony's pov:

(Y/n) is at the med bay at Stark Tower while Peter and I still waiting for Bruce to come with the result. Everything doesn't make sense tonight. Yeah I mean first, I think that (Y/n) is dating Peter but Peter just call (Y/n) a freaking 'mommy' what do you think?

"Mom! Mommy wake up!"

"Pete?" I called to get his attention.

"Y-yeah." He answer still fidgeting his fingers. I can tell that he is nervous.

"Why did you call (Y/n) mommy?" I ask bluntly.

"It is because she is my mom Mr. Stark!" He say annoy.

"But isn't your mom and dad has passed away?" I ask calmly.

Peter sigh but before he start to answer Bruce step in.

"Tony?" I heard Bruce call.

Third Person Pov:

"Tony?" Bruce called for the billionaire after he come out from the med bay.

"How is she?" Tony ask concern.

"She is find. She just shocked." Bruce explain.

"Can I see her?" Peter ask and Bruce nod.

There she lay. Her face looking peacefully sleeping. But as soon as the father son duo enter the room, (Y/n)'s eyes open slowly looking confused about where she is. She try to sit down but suddenly Tony's hand push her back to the bed.

"Easy there." Tony say looking at (Y/n).

"Tony? Pete? Where am I?" The woman ask.

"You're at the med bay mom." Peter answer.

"I- I why am I here?" She ask again still confuse.

"Well, you passed out at the restaurant remember?" Tony say to his secretary.

(Y/n) try to remember. But after a few second she start to regret for recalling the event.

"So, care to explain?" Tony push.

He really wanted to know about this all things. He is so confuse about everything. Peter say that (Y/n) is his mother but as far as Tony know, Peter's parents had die in a plane crash and he is living with his aunt. Now, how the hell is (Y/n) become Peter's mom?

"Explain what?" (Y/n) ask Stark with a cold eyes.

Why is she so cold now? Tony thought.

"Pete, can you give us some space?" Tony ask at the teen with a little smile. Poor Peter know something serious are about to discuss between his mother and his mentor. He nod after giving his mother a kiss on her head.

"Now, explain." Tony demand.

"There is nothing to explain Tony!" (Y/n) say crossing her arms.

(Y/n)'s pov:

I'm avoiding Tony now. Did he know already? No, he can't! But he say that Peter is his kid earlier at the restaurant. So he know isn't he?

"Nothing to explain? Peter call you mom and you say there is nothing to explain?!"

"It is none of your damn business!" I spat. I just want to get out from here and runaway.

"Everything about Peter is my damn business (Y/n)!" He argue.

What did he mean?

"What do you mean? He is no one to you! Why do you care?!" I say angry.

Don't cry (Y/n) don't cry. You are strong, don't cry.

"Why are you acting like this?" He ask.

I know he is confused but I can't let him know. He will take Peter away from me if he knew. I love Peter. He is my everything.

"Why do you care? As I said before, it's none of your business!" I glare at him.

Tony's pov:

She is weird. She is hiding something from me. But what?

"I have to go." She say about to hop out the bed.

"(Y/n), you're still sick just stay here will you?" I ask calmly.

I don't want to push her to tell me her secret. She is on her edge of crying because she is now shaking and avoiding my gaze and she only doing that because she scare and nervous.

"I- I'm fine now." She say stubbornly.

"(Y/n) stop. I'll never aloud you to go home in this condition. Just stay okay? I'll not asking anything from you anymore. Just stay here." I say more like command and it works. She listen to me and nod.

Her hand is still shaking. She is holding her cry right know and I know it. But whatever that you're hiding (Y/n), I'll find it no matter what.

"I'll be in the living room. Ask J.A.R.V.I.S if you need me okay?" I say before living her to rest.

(Time skip to Bucky and Sam playing truth or dare.)

Third person pov:

"So, I heard (Y/n) is in a med bay?" Rhodey, Tony's best friend asking.

Tony nod before sitting on the sofa in the living room. Before Rhodey can utter any words, his phone ringing and he excuse himself to answer it. Might be a mission from Fury.

Peter walk from the kitchen, a glass of apple juice on his hand. He then sit down next to Tony sipping his apple juice.

He and Tony always act like father and son. Whenever Peter have a bad day, Tony will comfort him by hugging him and whisper sweet nothing to Peter's making the young teen calm.

And there is no excuse for today. Peter just wanted a hug from Tony. Sure this whole things is weird and confuse for him and for Tony himself but he need Tony to hug him and play with his hair like Tony usually do when he stay at the Tower.

"Hey kid, you okay?" Tony ask his mopping kid. Peter just lay his head into Tony's chest and hug his mentor tightly.

Tony take that as a 'no' and start to comb his hand through Peter's curly hair. It's weird tonight when you don't hear the bickering noise between the Avengers because all the Avengers accept him had a mission to settle down so the tower is as quiet as a cemetery.

"What's wrong Pete?" Tony ask his Spiderling.

"Everything today is confusing me Mr. Stark. I don't know what is happening. Did mom hiding something from me?" The young arachnid ask his father figure. Tony sigh.

"I don't know either kid. I think she is hiding something from me too." Tony say still holding Peter in a hug.

"Why is she hiding something from you?" The kid ask and Tony shrug.

"I don't know." That's all Tony can answer. He truly don't know why and what is (Y/n) hide from him.

And at this moment, (Y/n) is looking at the father and son duo hugging each other on the couch and it make her heart soft. If she tell them, will they mad at her? Will Peter leave her? She sigh. She need to tell them, they deserved to know.

Third person pov:

The sun had shine. The birds chipping sounds like a melody to Peter's ear. He didn't remember when he went to sleep last night. Maybe Tony pick him up and place him on his bed last night like he always do when he felt asleep on the sofa or at the lab.

He then proceed his walk to the main kitchen where all the Avengers always having a breakfast in the morning. Today is Saturday so no school. That's mean he can help Tony to fix the Iron Man suit and upgrade his own Spider-man suit. May is out of town so he don't have to be worried beside his mom is here as well. Talking about his mom, there she is standing at the kitchen making a breakfast like yesterday never happened.

"Mom?" Peter call for his mother.

"Hey, baby you awake? Here eat some breakfast. You must be hungry because last night you don't even have a dinner." Her mother say giving him a stack of his favorite pancake, blueberry.

"Morning people." Tony walk toward the kitchen not forget to ruffling Peter messy hair before filling his mug with a hot steamy coffee.

"Morning dad." Peter say make (Y/n) choke the air, eyes wide when she heard Peter said that 'Dad' word. Peter must be kidding right? Yes he is.

Peter and Tony always playing around as son and dad to fool the other Avengers. Sometimes they take the bite and it's funny to fool around.

"Umm it smell like a blueberry pancake" Tony say before sitting down on the stool next to Peter.

"Yes it is." (Y/n) say acting like she did not heard anything earlier.

"My favorite!" Both Tony and Peter say at the same time before they burst of laugh.

Okay, this is awkward. (Y/n) thought.

"Yup our favorite." They say at the same time again before they laugh again.

Okay stop this shit I'm going to tell them. (Y/n) thought.

(Y/n)'s pov:

I've made my decision that I'll tell them the truth today and I think this is the right time.

"So, about yesterday..." I begin to talk.

Tony and Peter now give their focus hundred percent to me now. Their big brown eyes look at me and gosh that is my weakness. I can't look at that brown eyes of them so I avoid the stare.

"Um, Peter here is my son." I tell Tony first looking at him before turning my head to look at Peter.

"And Pete, Tony is your father." I say about to regret. But no! This is my final decision they have to know. They deserve to know.

"What?!" They both say unison again.

"What are you talking about? Pete here is my son? Like MY SON?! MINE?" Tony ask now stand up from his sit looking at me with big eyes.

"What are you talking mom? Mr. Stark here is my... DAD?!" Peter ask, his reaction is the same as Tony.

"Yes." I answer for the both of them.

They start to asking me a lot of thing at the same time and I don't know who to answer.

"Can you guys please calm down?!" I yelled.

And they both stop.

"Okay listen. Tony, he is your son and yes, biologically, yours. Pete, yes he is your dad." I say calmly.

"Explain." Tony demand. I know he is angry by now.

"Remember when we still at the college? Me and you -we..."

"Okay cut the crap just tell us the truth,

(Y/n)" Tony interrupted.

I take a deep breath and start to explain to them.

Third person pov:

Flashback

"This can't be happening! I'm a mother! Omg. I'm going to be a mother! I should let Tony know about this! But... What if he don't want this kid? What if after I tell him he wanted to break up with me? He won't right? He love me. Yeah he love me." (Y/n) tell herself.

She pick her handbag not forget to put the pregnancy test inside. She make her walk to Tony's mansion ready to tell him the happy news.

When she arrived at Tony's the front door was unlocked so she make her way to the living room but making sure she is quiet enough to not making a single noise as she wanted to make this as a surprise. But she is wrong, before she can make any surprise, she was surprise with a girl moaning mess while riding Tony and that girl is Hamara, her best friend. I was mad at first but when she tell me the truth, I feel like I was hit with a truck. I can't believe she hide such a big secret. I feel like shit. "Sure. Everything for my 'friend'." I say with a huge smile on my face while Steve send us a glare. I hope he didn't know about us yet. We are 'friend' in his eyes. It's funny when the great Captain America can detected something wrong about the enemy but can't figure out that his own sister dating his teammate.

"Well, I'm sure that you call me not to help you with the party thing." I say looking at Tony when we arrived at his floor.

"I just wondering if May are able to attend this party." He say with his famous smirk.

"Steve, this is May Parker, Peter's aunt." I introduce. I did the same with May. Steve is blushing mess. His face is as red as Tony's iron man suit. I can't help but feel happy for him. I than excuse to give them a little privacy. Actually I feel like a third wheel and the tension is strong. I swear!

I leave and sit down next to Tony who is still talking to Rhodey. He look at me with an amuse smile arching his right eyebrow.
