Let me just start off by saying that "Memento Mori" (which I discovered yesterday) is an absolute masterpiece, and I can't wait for more! Your writing is phenomenal, truly. I don't think I've ever stayed awake until 12pm just to finish an IF - on a Wednesday night.

That being said, I was wondering if you'd consider making V an RO. It's only a suggestion, because, to me, he at least SEEMS to have lots of romancing potential, but I totally understand if you don't want to (and you won't have to justify either).

I hope medical school is going well and that you and your loved ones are all well and healthy. Staying patiently tuned for updates!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Oblivious Melodies is taking part in the IF Raffle for Palestine!

As one of over 40 creators from the IF community, I'll be taking part in a donation drive from the 7th - 21st June! Money donated by participants will be donated to five specific fundraisers for families seeking safety from ongoing persecution in Gaza. Money you raise will go directly toward making a measurable change in these families' lives. Tickets for the raffle cost the minimum donation for GoFundMe ($5USD/€5). In return, IF artists and writers will create something really special for the lucky ticket holders! And I'm one of those writers!!!

There's a huge selection of writers and artists contributing to the raffle, and I strongly encourage you to check out their work! For any winner paired with me, I will be offering:

I do miss writing IF’s so I’ve been cooking up ideas for a smaller, less angst heavy IF and there’s one idea that’s been on my mind for a while.

Might have to break out the google doc and the Pinterest boards and make something cook.

Author Update (06/03/2024)

Hi lovelies!

It’s been quite a while!

I figured I should come on here and let yall know where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to. Long story short is that I haven’t been working on Memento Mori and the reason why is because I’ve been really happy lately.

Writing has always been my escape. Through my very dark depression, writing has been the way I can sort through my emotions and organize it into something beautifully vulnerable instead of overwhelming. Last year, I was at a low point where the characters I was writing was a reflection of my mental state.

I’m glad to say I’m in a different place now. I start medical school in a few months, I’m in love and loved by one of the best people I’ve ever met, my family is closer than ever, and I feel like my life is coming together in a way I could only dream of one year ago.

It’s hard for me to put myself back into the mental state needed to write a story like Memento Mori. I still love to write and do so all the time! But that story’s deep angst, that never ending turmoil (for now), it’s not a story I can immerse myself in because I wrote it with my own trauma and emotion in mind. The inner thoughts of MC reflected the ones I wouldn’t dare to say aloud.

Trying not to ramble so I’ll just say that maybe in the future I’ll write a different kind of story, one that ebbs and flows between angst and joy. For now though, I’m so happy to be living the life I do. I wake up now with a smile on my face despite what I’ve been through, I’m not escaping anymore.

I wanted to thank you all for your support as I shared parts of my story with you. I’ll try to be more active on here in general as I read all of your amazing stories!! I have a lot to catch up on!!

Memento Mori Chapter 2 Mini Sneak Peek!

I love writing Zero’s romance arc and friendship with MC because he’s one of the only characters that completely accepts MC for who they are.

They can be shy, abrasive, humorous, spiteful, awkward, seductive, or full of rage and Zero will love and respect them all the same.

Since it’s taking me a while to write Chapter 2, here is a sneak peek of one of the variances in MC’s conversations with Zero. (Dependent on MC personality)
