Time ever marches on, and so too must life

Today's a special day, marking Dreams of the Stars' 6th anniversary as a comic series! I'll be a bit late to making an anniversary image as I typically do, but I hope you look forward to when it's done!

6 years, man. It's certainly come a long way! So much has changed, especially the story and characters!

Twyla herself has undergone the most amount of change, with a complete background change, which in turn has affected her character immensely. Nevertheless her friends too, and many key characters involved in the story, most notably Orpheus. He's a big deal, even modernly. And my trouble child. He's 100% out of my control, and I pretty much just do his bidding these days

Nevertheless new characters have stepped in to assume greater roles, such as Magolor with his mysterious connections and dubious past. When I started 6 years ago, I wouldn't have believed it if you told me Magolor would've taken such a huge place in DotS 5 years later LOL That cat snuck on me for real

6 years of meeting so many new people, friends coming and going, good times, bad times, and fun times between. Many forever farewells as well, first being my friend Ty, and family members to follow. This series has been with me through two jobs and a lot of hardship. It's been a bastion, a joy for not only myself, but my sister and many others

It's been a long journey, and in recent months it has been pretty slow-going due to major life changes and so forth. But I'm finally getting back in the swing of things ever slowly, dreaming up new ideas, getting inspired!

DotS is almost fully rebuilt, lore-wise, and its story is coming together with each passing day

I have a lot to share in coming months, both design-wise and special sneak peeks into things as I did regularly months ago!

Gonna be interrupting the ongoing Neo3 saga for a bit, because something serious needs to be addressed.

Its come to my attention that there have been some serious allegations against me and another member of the Magoverse server. The posts were brought to us by someone in said server and that’s how we all found out.

Im here to provide proof against them.

TLDR: There has been a person lying about some very serious matters. I will discuss and provide proof against their claims below.

A former member of our server, giyagas-strikes-back, has claimed that I have been generally harassing them while they were there. They have stated that they have no proof of their accusations. There is no evidence of this because it did not happen at all.

I did not abuse or harass them. All I did was address the behavior that was making other members of the server uncomfortable. We were not once rude to this individual. We had spoken with them regarding their disruptive behavior multiple times, including their disrespect towards our members when they had asked them to tone things down and failed to regard such wishes.

For this next series of screenshots, they were involved in an rp involving sudden angst/violence that made members in the server uncomfortable. I was not the one who addressed the concern, but I did agree with the point of the one who did.

Another event where they commented something negative about something and someone else talked to them about it. Again, I was only agreeing with someone else, I did not speak harshly to them at all:

We never held a grudge against them, and only spoke to them in this way when they made someone uncomfortable.

Additionally, they told us that they were at least 13 (minimum age for joining the server) when we talked to them. We all thought we were speaking to an individual who would handle criticism we gave them seriously. We found out later that they were lying about their age:

Because we weren't notified, it only came to our attention much later into their membership, as is shown here. (Edited Discord notifications do not provide an "unread message" tag, and with a massive influx of members coming in at that time, this message was quickly buried.) We do not accept members under the age of 13 in our server. Every member under the age of 18 must inform us that they are a minor (no specific number required, just that they're under 18), and they are given a tag indicating that they are a minor. Additionally, we have multiple guidelines in place regarding minors and VC manners. We all mind our distance. To note: Before we could confront giyagas-strikes-back they left the server. We are unsure if they left because they caught wind we knew about them lying about their age, or if they left because of the multiple times that members of the mod staff had been forced to step in to handle behaviors or statements made by them that made other members uncomfortable.

An extra note to add, giyagas-strikes-back claimed that all this happened in a server where the “mod was always away”. We are the mods, and they were fully aware of this. The status of our mods is very apparent and in no way shape or form secret. Even our nicknames are given a specific color to indicate that we are the mods of the server. We only ever interacted with them on the specific server that we mod, so I am unsure if this is another lie, or if they legitimately didn’t realize we were mods and that is why we kept addressing their behaviors with them.

They also mentioned that I associate with Blaze, who they claim said weird stuff to them/is grooming them. But doing a quick search on a statement they made proves otherwise:

I believe these allegations are an immature act of retaliation due to our addressing their ill behaviors.

Theres one more thing I need to address. It was also brought to my attention that someone is claiming I stole an AU. I was never approached about this, neither has Blue as far as I am aware, and honestly have no idea what AU they're referring to, so I'm going to assume it is CtyH (Close to Your Heart, the au where Mags marries a god). We first discussed this au last January 26, 2023 -- here are screenshots of the first discussions about it. This AU started off as an offshoot to my interp and evolved from there. If anyone ever felt I had stolen something, it was never brought up with me or Blue, and I never wrote this AU with anyone elses in mind.

In closing: A healthy reminder. When people are accusing others of something, never take just their word as fact. Always look into it before making your own decision about the person in question, even if it comes from someone you trust. Never let anyone's opinion be your opinion. Always, ALWAYS, find the facts and discern for yourself! Make your own choice. Don't allow others to choose for you. Take this evidence as you will, but please, if you know those responsible for damning our names and making these baseless claims, we ask that you do not harass them on our behalf. We will not tolerate anyone speaking ill of them in my name. Yes, what they are doing is bad, but would any of us be better if we reciprocate in the same manner? That helps no one. Instead, simply inform and educate others. Be peaceful, be respectful. Be polite. Do not attack these people under any circumstances.

MAN you got me thinking about Eave (I love her 4 wings btw!), but all the questions I want to ask about her story probably go into spoilers territory, so instead… another free ask about her daughter and her daughter’s parents?

AAA THANK YOU! I'm glad!! Auughhh I've always loved her 4 wings. She's such a pretty lady. And hey— you never know unless you try, but sure I can tell you about her daughter and fam!

You may have guessed, as many have, but Eave's baby girl is Twyla! She's undergoing a little bit of a design update as well, but here's my latest iteration from last year:

Her father and stepmother belong to my sister, @starlightfyre! Zeelo and Amani Zeidric are her current guardians and caretakers!

Yes, that's right— she's a Zeidric, and I've hinted it from the very beginning in DotS' original Episode one! Right here was my first clue (old art jumpscare):

Second were three different hints here in Episode 2:

First set of panels— that's a very subtle one and wasn't really intended to be obvious; however that's something Zeelo's known to say often! The second panel also has Zeelo's distinct green eye color as another subtle reference. There's many instances where I used Eave or Zeelo's eye colors, or maybe both, as a hint towards her relations to the two.

Additionally, Twyla has a magic version of Zeelo's signature pistol here, her hair is styled similarly to his, as well her gloves had changed shape to emulate his style! Additionally, they're both holding a pistol with their left hand— Twyla is mirroring that poster in the background!

You can see she has her mother's cream-colored wings. She's very much the spitting image of Eave

SO YEAH— I'm revealing this here because in DotS' rewrite, this information is in the open. How she arrives in her father's care, however, will remain a surprise, hehehe!

That's just a glimpse of how deep and subtle my foreshadowing can get :3c

But some info on Twyla— her personality's had a bit of a shift because of these changes, thanks to the direct influence of her father and stepmother. She'll still have plenty of sass, but she's going to be much more brave and have much less Trauma™. Much more outgoing and confident in herself!

However she's also aware of her lineage, and as the youngest in her family, believes she has the biggest shoes to fill. She constantly strives to prove herself worthy of her family name on both sides. The challenges of being the child of not one but two famous heroes. She has her mother's legacy to uphold as well, as her only heir and survivor of their bloodline

Although— this pressure is self-afflicted. Zeelo and Amani are already proud of her as she is! They have no expectations of her beyond just being herself, and enjoying her peaceful childhood 💜

So when I write stories or messages, I have to write using voice to text and swipe because I have an injury in both of my wrists that prevent me from using a keyboard long term. I have grown accustomed to the quirks of writing in this fashion, but oftentimes I get typos and incorrect corrections that result in various things.

One example in question is "medicine" is now "Mexicans" LMAO and "her expression" is actually "hair expression". I'm so sorry, autocorrect, I'm a heathen for having incorrect vocabulary.

Arthur is also "Arthritis", on another note.

You’ve clearly put a lot of thought and effort into building your world of Dracos, and I’m curious to know how dragons like Landia and Ice Dragon would fit in, if at all, since your world leans more towards anime lore than games. (Sorry if this question isn’t welcome, I’m going through a Kirby dragon world building phase of my own and want to poke the brain of another dragon enjoyer)

I'm glad you asked! :D our AU draws a lot from the anime while fusing quite a bit of the games in. So I'll happily explain the wider lore of dragons! Dragons are some of the mightiest of beasts found in the Starlight Dreamers and Dreams of the Stars universe, and are often respected or feared. So any beast that falls under the species of "dragon" is treated with caution or high regard.

There's various kinds of dragons that fall under certain categories. I'll explain the category that ice dragons fall under first.

There are dragons that are demon beasts and/or monsters, which are dragons made or commonly used by Nightmare. Ice Dragons fall under the demon beast/monster category. Demon beasts are creatures that are usually made of negative energy, so most dragon species of this category are usually not nice! But you can come across some that are raised by good people or even Star Warriors as companions of war. Overall, ice dragons are neutral unless raised good or bad! A common name also used for demon beasts are Nightmares since they're often made of corrupted Dream Matter. So an ice dragon qualifies as a Nightmare Dragon. There are many other types of Nightmare Dragons as well, some worse and more evil than others!

Dracos fall under a category that is similar to demon beasts, interestingly enough! Except they're positive magical creatures made of Starlight and untainted Dream Matter. So holy/star beasts, I guess? Creatures that fall under these categories are called Dreams– a concept that belongs to my sister @blazingstaro (check out her stuff for more on the various species of Dreams outside of the Dracos!). So in contrast to Nightmare Dragons, Dracos are Dream Dragons. They're capable of traveling the stars and traversing the realm of sleep when they rest, as well as developing Super Abilities as they grow old. Dracos were born to combat Nightmares and were born in the image of their ancestors, the Origin Dragons, which I will explain after this. In their birth to the galaxy, they evolved and improve on the weaknesses that led to the near extinction of Origin Dragons to have better chances of survival. Because of their similar make to demon beasts, corrupted Dracos become Dracomares. So, a Draco CAN become a Nightmare Dragon.

Origin Dragons are the ancestors of which Dream and Nightmare Dragons were made. Origin Dragons are primal creatures of Dream Matter that were generally neutral depending on the individual. Unlike their Draco descendents, they couldn't traverse space, but were masters of elemental manipulation, such as mastery to cause storms, breathe fire, move earth, and other elemental powers! Landia in particular has lore significance. Eons ago, Landia ruled as kings over a dragon city long before the Dracos or Nightmares existed. The four siblings guarded the Master Crown until the day would come that it would be gifted to a worthy ruler who would lead the Champions of Starlight; wielders of four sacred blades made by the elements and blessing of four powerful dragons of that time (two of those blades being Galaxia and Galacta's lance). The Crown was stolen though, leading to it's misuse and eventual corruption. Landia was lost in an unknown space in that battle and the world was torn asunder, starting the decline of the Origin Dragon's near extinction. As seen, eventually the crown does end up back in their possession, but they guard it for the purpose of it not falling in the wrong hands until Magolor stumbles upon them.

Here's some art examples!

Landia, when split into four dragons, are actually kinda small xD they become large when fused! The sketch of one of the Landia dragons between two others is another Origin Dragon on the left (Athrodite) and a Draco on the right (Branwen. She's young here, but she grows up to be around Athrodite's size).

Here are examples of demon beast dragons/nightmare dragons. On the left is my stylization of Ice Dragons! On the right is one of the fiercest of nightmare dragons; the silver dragon, based on the dragons sometimes seen in the anime. This one in particular is my character, Cynder. Silver dragons breathe fire and are quite large, easily rivaling Origin Dragons in size! They don't speak but understand speech, so are highly more intelligent than they give off!

Some colored Origin Dragons! On the left is Azymondias, on the right is Elyna. She's the only dragon of her era to have manipulation over the element of space and Starlight and is rather important to the backbone of my story lore. She is thought to be the base of how Dracos work modernly! Azymondias is a storm dragon, and aided in raising and teaching Branwen. Both of these characters are no longer around.

And lastly, examples of powerful Dracos and Dracomares! The left is the Alpha Queen Draco. On the right Firush, a Dracomare. Dracos come in various body types that are close to Origin Dragons!

Dragons are an important part of the lore of our stories! Dream and Nightmare Dragons are what came after Origin Dragons. The four dragons that aided in the creation of the sacred blades are an interesting topic I plan to talk about at some point. But I hope you enjoyed this dive into our world's lore on dragons! The Dracos and Origin Dragons are very important in my stories, so I'll be sharing more about some of the those characters as my stories go on ^w^

Ik you don’t want people to make adoptables out of your designs (which is understandable), but would you be okay if people take elements from your lore? I’d love to incorporate some of your dragon lore into my hcs/au, but I understand if you don’t want that.

My apologies for taking so long to get to this! I lost access to Tumblr after getting a new phone recently! But anyway, I'm quite honored you enjoy my dragon lore! The Dracos themselves (which are attached to my dragon lore) are an open species from my sister and I's Kirby AU that can be implemented freely into other Kirby AU's, as well. So people can make Dracos of their own if they like! I'm also not against people taking inspiration from them and their set lore/functions to work into their stuff outside of the species. Hope that answered your questions! ^v^

I almost missed Branwen's anniversary! Well, I mean, I kind of did. I didn't realize it was the 18th until last night. I started sketching this and decided to color it this morning! I'm sad that I always miss her anniversary, because she's so special to me. So here's her sheltering Galahad and his beloved Charlotte from the rain as the storm clears <3

I've had her since 2019, where she was originally created to be a one-off character. She was created to be Zeelo's guardian, to have raised him. DragonBorne was the only story she was planned to be in before her history started to develop January of last year, when Galahad came into the picture in the story by surprise! Quite honestly, I couldn't have fathomed how important her and Galahad's presence was as the literal historical backbone of everything I'm writing. Without her, I wouldn't have Starlight Dreamers as it is.

One of the last scattered survivors of her kind, Branwen carries a heavy burden and a hell of a price on her shoulders. She became indebted to Galahad after he made a great sacrifice for her and Arthur. Regardless of his protesting at first, she made an eternal vow to stay by his side into the Star Warriors, where she has risked life and limb multiple times for her comrades. As a great gift, her starlight beats within Galahad's heart, and her bond is her word.

Until her last breath, she will always be behind Galahad, Arthur, and those proceeding them- loyal to her heart, the Knight Code, and as a Dragon of the Stars; as her dying kind had vowed once upon a lively history.

Branwen, Galahad, and Charlotte belong to me.

Financial Emergency: Medical Bills and Holiday Funds

As much as I hate asking for financial help...unfortunately, I need to.

For the short version: after experiencing health problems and over a dozen doctor visits, my medical bills are starting to pile up. This has left me on a very tight budget, including next to no holiday funds for Christmas shopping for my family and friends. And I fear that other costs will begin to suffer soon, like my food budget and bills.

Long and detailed story below:

So, I think I should give you guys some info about what's happened to me the past month. I've been to the doctor half a dozen times for gastro pain and some unusually excessive blood loss (I apologize for the gross implications).

The gastro troubles led to me being diagnosed with "gastroesophageal reflux disease," which is basically a mix of gas buildup, indigestion, and acid reflux. It's not life threatening and I'm taking meds to handle the pain. As for the excessive bleeding, the cause of it is still unknown. I'm actually going back in tomorrow to be tested for Cushing's disease.

As expected, all of these doctor visits have led to many medical bills. For blood draws, and ultrasounds, and even a CT scan. And this couldn't have come at a worse time since Christmas is rapidly approaching. My holiday funds have been drained. And I still have more bills to pay (still have two more doctor appointments coming up).

I apologize if any of this was TMI, but you guys deserve to know what's going on when I ask for financial help. All I can do now is ask any of you for help. Whether it's donating or spreading the post around or just offering me moral support, I genuinely appreciate you guys.
