I'm feeling pretty unmotivated. I really want to draw something with a cool and meaningful story like how fans draw characters doing things in their fandom and have headcannons about them, and I'm trying to write a story so I can express myself that way, but I just can't feel the energy.

I liked the lighting on this one, and I think the colours look nice, but I really need to work on my line quality because it's just too messy.

I'm in the middle of binging Sinix Design's Anatomy Quick Tips playlist, and I drew this arm to apply some of the stuff I learnt... I had no energy left for the fingers haha

Probably should've made the hand a bit brighter and more reddish rather than yellowish, and the fingers should have been darker.

Still pretty proud tho

Herik (left) and Violet (right) I've posted about Herik before, so I'll talk a bit more about Violet. Violet is the protagonist for my story/world building project Osis, and she is a journalist. A very chatty journalist, expert in the ways of social navigation.

Her goal is to figure out what happened to her mother and hopefully even find her, but the problem is that her mother has been criminalised in the minds of her people by the well-renowned Explorer's Guild (hopefully I change this generic ahh name), and so any attempt to ask around for information is met with suspicious looks.

The Explorer's Guild is the lead organisation for, well, exploring, but specifically for finding pieces of blueprints that an ancient civilisation left behind, and these explain how to make technologies based on magic for a variety of purposes. They have some shady practices, however, that are unseen by the public, and this is what Violet wants to expose with her news articles.

As well as writing articles, she is one of the senior editors at her news agency, Under the Nayloro Sun (might change).

In terms of Herik and Violet's character design, I tried drawing them in what would be their cultural outfits, but I definitely need to develop those more haha

trying out gradient maps with a gray-scale sketch. it's not that good but I definitely liked the colours. it was much easier to draw in grey-scale because i've practiced traditionally in it more haha

Herik is the secondary protagonist for my story/worldbuilding project Osis.

Herik is a cartographer with a knack for music and he often has to endure days at a time in a tent to properly map the area.

His country is undergoing a sort of magical industrial age, and it revolves around the discovery - technically rediscovery - of ancient blueprints that tell people how to harness magic. As such, exploration and therefore cartography have been booming industries.

I love legend of Zelda too much, and I also love how much more story was given in this AU. Although I love and hold Tears of the Kingdom close to my heart, it was a little lacking in story and this filled that gap for me <3

A coastal city from my world building project Osis

Jioro is based on the Lesser Orodel, a stream of the Orodel river that split off into a delta. It's sister city, Loroya, is based on the Greater Orodel, which also turned into a delta as it approached the sea.

During harvest season, the cities host a festival upon the seaside cliffs that divide them - there are competitions to see who has the biggest produce, racing, and other activities.

(pretend it says deep orange hue 😭) The abundance of local sediment and periodic flooding create a durable and accessible source of construction material.
