Why isn’t Aq Vetina a water planet?
Really!! It’s in the perfect spot, system wise. And it’s got a VERY water themed name! (And also because a fishier evolution of humans would be so peak—)
AND IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE ENTIRELY WATER! It can have minimal land masses!! It would just be so interesting to have droids invade it if it’s mostly water. Although I imagine it would have giant tidal floods—probably prompting the more aquatic humans I dream of. And it would be that much more tragic if the droids just coincidentally hit during a series of low tide.
And also it would be so so so soooo cool to have Din Djarin hide from the droids underwater. Watching the carnage in an almost dream like area—like if Nemo was conscious for that barracuda!
Idk, Aq(ua) Vetina just seems like such an underutilized name for yet another land planet.

I had the most WONDERFUL crack idea the other day that the Nameless/Shrii-Ka-Rai are just Mandalorian vermin/street rats.
They only fuck with the force sensitive folks(on a cosmic scale) so like.. what if the Mandalorians are like;
“The Leveler? FORCE eater? That’s a fuckin’ uh.. Hutt’ika!” (little Hutt. I named it after the fact that the Mandalorians hate the Hutts AND they’re born as sludge-like creatures.)
I imagine they’re like tripe(cow’s fourth stomach. A popular pauper food) in the way that they’re super easy to access. The Planet X thing would probably be the reason the Leveler and its siblings got so huge and unmanageable in the first place.
I also just think it’d be fucking hilarious to have Din Djarin be like “You’re afraid of a Hutt’ika… you. The space wizard.” If he and Luke ever happened upon them (kinda like that whole Sith Statue-Space station debacle. Lmao)

Inventing Mando culture head canons because I’m bored, need some more culture for them and I’m a damn sucker.
But! I came up with this idea of “Home Sleep” and a reinterpretation of “Death Watch.”
Since the Mandalorians are VERY focused on home and belonging despite the fact that they’re very odd-job based.(At least for the moment) I’ve realized—also after watching a bunch of undercover operative stories on YouTube. That being away for long periods of time fucks you up. ESPECIALLY if they’re out routinely. It upsets your family life, your rituals, health, and other relationships.
So, Home Sleep. The phenomenon where Mandalorians on bounty runs return home once a month to sleep in their own beds. (I imagine it’d be important enough to “drop everything and run” but I think they’d have more tact than that. Probably like more of a “urgently wrap it up” type situation.)
It’s not only to ground themselves in their reality but as a cultural necessity. A way to know that they’re alive and still share their allegiance. And also to assess their mental state, their health and other matters.
It also makes a PERFECT trope idea for Din Djarin to appear inexplicably once a month to his chosen partner like a puppy out in the cold. Lmfaoooo

Now, Death Watch. It’s certainly an awesome name but I haven’t found much reason for the Death Watch group to be called that. And after making the Home Sleep I found a place for it to come from.
So, obviously there would be bounties or other matters that take a hell of a lot of time—more than a month. You can’t always drop everything to go home, I understand this.
In that case, maybe the Mandalorian would undertake a “Death Watch.” A sort of accepted state outside of the Mandalorian culture where they’re gone for a sometimes undefined amount of time—extremely close to an exile.
Culturally it could be explained that the Mandalorian in question goes into a culturally “dead” state where they can exist out of their societal rituals and confines such as Home Sleep or other restrictions that would inhibit their job. Essentially a religious “blind eye.”
I also have imagined a group salute to send them off. A double tap on the chest with a closed fist, then a wide half circle until another double tap on the chest. It would be repeated till the end of the reciting of a scripture or a written acceptance of their departure. This action would mimic the slowing of a heart beat until their metaphorical “death.”
The above ritual is meant as a pre-forgiveness of their Death Watch/Exile. Really, the Mandalorian equivalent of a hug from friends/family before you board your plane and they don’t see you for an unpredictable amount of time.
And so, the Death Watch gang would be named after the fact that they’re all “outside” of their societal confines. Basically in a form of self exile to try to win back Mandalor. Very simple and to the point like a certain Mandalorian I know.
(—You can add this to your canon if you’d like but; The salute made me think of a possible scene where Bo Kataan is leaving to join the Death Watch in a fury and Satine performs the Death Watch Salute to see her off anyway. Like a “you’re always welcome here,” without actually saying it. :’)) Bo of course wouldn’t reciprocate it, as is customary. But she would hesitate—and leave anyway, BUT SHE WOULD HESITATE!!)

I recently saw and of course IMMEDIATELY joined “Defenders of the Jedi.” They sound fucking amazing.
But… my soul belongs to the Mandalorians…
I should make a Mando community…
But of course make a more original name than “Defenders of the Mandalorians.” They don’t need defending, they’re awesome!! And they’re super warriors raised from birth(kinda)—No, they need… warriors.
.
Is “SEND DUDES” still outdated??
#SEND MANDO!#That should totally be the group name…#Unless someone is more genius than I#which. tbf. is often true#din djarin#star wars#Star Wars fandom#the Mandalorian fandom#the Mandalorian#book of boba fett#mandalorians#bo katan kryze#duchess satine#satine kryze#Boba Fett#Jango Fett#sabine wren
