I love your bulma cosplay!! 😍 I’m also going to be cosplaying as bulma next month, can I ask where you sourced your wig from and the process of dying it please? 🙂

Sorry this reply is so late! I’m sure you’ve already figured it out but just in case anybody else is interested... I found a large white afro wig on Amazon and then I dyed it myself using the “sharpie technique.”

Step one: Get an empty spray bottle and fill it with 90% rubbing alcohol

Step two: Get 2-3 sharpies in the color of your choice. Cut open the sharpie with an exactoknife and extract the ink core. Slice the core open as well to release the ink more easily. Put in the rubbing alcohol and let it soak in for a little while - like 20 minutes.

Step three: Put on rubber gloves, put down a garbage bag to protect your floor.

Step four: Spritz the wig and work the rubbing alcohol/ink mixture into the hair. That’s how you dye it.

Step five: Let it dry overnight.

There are some great videos online with a more in depth explanation. I also stitched the headband to the wig for extra security. Good luck!

Maybe pick you fav and tell me what mood/atmosphere they show to you? A few colour and lighting experiments i’m doing while i work on a tutorial for simple shading, knowing what you think might help me improve it! These are all using the same base colours and the same technique but in different ways, i’ll cover that in the tutorial.

I know I’ve been pretty quiet for a while. Here’s some of what I’ve been up to lately. I dyed the Bulma wig with sharpies and rubbing alcohol. The Vegeta wig was the real challenge! Never styled a wig so extensively before but very proud of the results!:)

The kid cosplaying Trunks is one of my theatre students that I’m particularly close to. I love taking him to cons with me. It won’t be long until he’s making his own stuff!

I’ll post more of this past year’s cosplay soon and I’ll get some better shots of Perfect Cell this August!
