I know people have been talking about that they don’t like Red’s writing/thinks the exicution is bad or something and I know Red herself has acknowledged on her insta story at one point that the S2 end was a little rushed but I actually highly enjoy all the writing including the end of S2. Sure, there could be a more coherient timeline/order of events(but that’s just cause I love when things are orderly) but overall I love it and it’s the main reason I got hooked on SBG. I think the writing is amazing and I am so excited for what season 3 brings to the lore <3

I really think this fandom doesn't focus on the bio family/platonic bonds/found family side of things enough. There's SO MUCH going on! A few things that I would love to see people talk about more when it comes to character relationships include:

- The twins complex dynamic (and honestly their whole family). Like they're polar opposite and so protective (and kind of reliant to an extent) on eachother. For starters, Tylers protective of Taylor due to his past trauma and the fact that since his father has died he has had to step up as a carer for his mother and to some extent sister. From the start we see that they hate being without eachother. Would love to see how they cope in season 3 and maybe some separation anxiety representation.

- The Clark cousins!!! Lily and Aiden have seen Ben at his lowest, when his anger issues were at his worse. They've heard him speak and watched him go from a boy who loves singing to someone who can't even stand his own voice. It's hinted Aiden actively helps Ben with his anger (which I would love to see scenes with). I'm so sure that Ben has seen Aiden at his worse aswell and I would love that to be built on. The Phantom Realm is gonna have a big impact on Lily's development I can see it now 😭

- Mike Banner. My man UPGRADED THE JEEP so he could bring Ashlyns entire friend group around. He teaches them self defense and even lowkey planned and hosted Lilys bday part. He is practically their father figure at this point.

- Just how the entirety of the main 6 act around eachother. Due to the shared trauma they have warmed up to eachother in what I have gathered is a very short amount of time (as in a few months). Everything has escalated drastically, Tyler's death, Aidens death and the facility catching them was all within like 3 days, if that. Now that they're split up I cannot see them coping well.

There's so much more I could yap about!!! I really feel like this fandom over focuses on ships. Like as long as your not being weird about it, that's fine, but also take advantage of the crazy dynamics and non romantic relationships Red has laid out for you guys! Your truly missing out.

The fans that complain about the crane group, the facility, or the current art style don’t actually like sbg.

I get that season 2 was different from season 1 but it feels like some fans prioritize shipping over the plots progression.

Personally, I loved learning about the phantom dimension and hearing all the fandoms theories, but I also really hated the influx of new readers hyper focusing on their favorite pairings.

And the art?? HELLOOO??? Yes, the earlier stages of her art style will always have a certain charm to them, but keep in mind there was a LOT of time between seasons 😭 she’s improved sm and the episodes were absolutely gorgeous, not to mention that red had to expand her team just to keep up the production quality

Of course, you can have your own opinions on the way season 2 was written, I’m not saying that everyone who didn’t like it is guilty of this, just wanted to rant a bit lol

Did i ever mention that from Tyler and Aiden's first trade, Tyler now has boom slimes, which he hates and keeps on the farthest corner of his ranch, leaving them to be taken care of by the drones so he never has to touch them?

Slime Rancher AU First Interactions!!

Aiden and Ashlyn met on the Range Exchange, where Aiden got really excited that there was actually other kids on the Far, Far Range that were his age, and Ash proceeded to regret the interaction for days. Eventually they did become friends, though, which led to Ash finding fire slimes and giving them to Aiden because she thought he'd like them. After that, fire slimes are his favorite, because Ash was his first real friend on the Far, Far Range.

Ben met Ashlyn through Aiden, as he came to the Far, Far Range after Aiden became friends with Ash. The two of them usually interact when Aiden is also there, since Ash mostly likes to be alone, and Ben doesn't speak.

Logan came to the Far, Far Range next, and he first met Ashlyn. They met through the Range Exchange, but they didn't really have a conversation, so that wasn't when they became friends.

Logan met Aiden next, also through the Range Exchange, who kind of forced Logan to be his friend. That was how Logan became friends with Ben and Ash, as well.

Finally, Taylor and Tyler came to the Far, Far Range. Tyler first met Aiden on the Range Exchange, where Aiden asked him for whatever the most dangerous slime he had was. Ty didn't really have anything good for him that he didn't already have, but Aiden kept the hunter, tangle, and dervish slimes that Ty gave him anyway.

Taylor was the one who really became friends with everyone. She first met Ashlyn on the Range Exchange, and they became fast friends, despite Ash usually preferring to be alone. Taylor met Logan next, and then Aiden and Ben. Tay is the one who really got Tyler to be friends with the others

SBG Slime Rancher AU!!

In this AU, everyone's aged up by a few years just so it makes sense for them to live alone

Also, time is very... vague. This is my silly AU just let me have fun

I don't have designs because, well, it's Slime Rancher. Have a field day they can wear whatever, they're not even on Earth

This post is actually much more detailed than my Twitter thread tbh

Ashlyn and Aiden are the only ones who have been living on the Far, Far Range their whole lives. Both Ash's parents and Aiden's parents came to the Far, Far Range before having a kid.

Other than them, Ben has been there the longest. Ben was sent to the Far, Far Range to live with Aiden's family after the whole thing with Shane. Ben's parents write to him semi-often.

Logan came next, and has only been on the Far, Far Range for 2-3 years. His parents disappeared mysteriously dw about it. His grandparents were worried at first, but let him go, and they still write to him all the time.

The twins came the most recently, only being there for a few months to a year. In this AU, Ethan is alive and Mariana is well!! Yippee!! They also write to their kids often.

Ashlyn's parents live on Beatrix/Hobson's ranch from the game (and have the same slimes as are from the game, excluding SR2), and it's where Ash grew up, but she lives with Taylor now, because they're married, because I said so. Ash kind of takes Hobson's place here.

Aiden and Ben live at Mochi's Manor, where Aiden's parents have quicksilver slimes.

Everybody else lives on their own ranch (which I just made up with vague ideas of places from the games).

Taylor and Tyler live on a place like Starlight Strand, Taylor's ranch being on the blue side, and Tyler's ranch being on the pink side. The blue side connects to an area like the Moss Blanket, and the pink side connects to an area like the Dry Reef and a beach like the one already on Starlight Strand in the game. Like I said earlier, Ashlyn is living with Taylor.

Logan lives in an area that's basically just the Ancient Ruins and the Glass Desert. His Glass Desert would connect to Ashlyn/Her parents' Glass Desert.

Ashlyn's parents, like I said, have all the normal slimes from SR1, and, again, like I said, Aiden's parents have quicksilver slimes.

The blue side of Starlight Strand (Taylor's side) has: (blue) flutter slimes, tabby slimes, tangle slimes, honey slimes, twin slimes, cotton slimes

The pink side of Starlight Strand (Tyler's side) has: flutter slimes, tabby slimes, tangle slimes, twin slimes, cotton slimes, pink slimes

The Moss Blanket has: (blue) flutter slimes, hunter slimes, tabby slimes, tangle slimes, honey slimes, phosphor slimes, shadow slimes, ringtail slimes, cotton slimes, yolky slimes

The Dry Reef & beach have: dervish slimes, angler slimes, puddle slimes, rock slimes

The Ancient Ruins have: quantum slimes, glitch slimes (Logan didn't make them, the rancher before him did), phosphor slimes, mosaic slimes

The Glass Desert has: quantum slimes, mosaic slimes, sloomber slimes, dervish slimes, crystal slimes, meteor slimes (I don't care if they were never actually added!)

And Ben has a portal to The Wilds! Don't ask why, I just wanted him to.

On their Ranch, of course everyone has the slimes from the areas connected to them, but here's what else they have (from Range Exchange):

Ashlyn & Taylor: puddle & (normal) flutter slimes (Stolen from Ty), mosaic slimes (from Logan), saber slimes (from Ben)

Tyler: hunter slimes (stolen from Tay), boom slimes (from Aiden), meteor slimes (from Logan)

Aiden: rock, boom, rad, & crystal slimes (all from Ash & her parents), fire slimes (from Ash, who found it and thought he'd like it), hunter, tangle, and dervish (from Ty)

Ben: mosaic slimes (from Logan), cotton slimes (from Tay)

Logan: cotton slimes (from Ty), saber slimes (from Ben), yolky slimes (from Tay)

Here's their favorite slimes:

Y'know Taylor is seriously being called annoying/boring for being "too nice" , it's so sad.

She's literally the comforter of the group!!!!! She knows what to say to diffuse or make people feel good about themselves and example is when ben lore was revealed and she how she appreciated him for having the courage to reveal it!!

She serves a good contrast to her bro but that people thinking she revolves around Tyler are simply overlooking her character because they can't be bothered to actually look into it. The same who used to call Tyler annoying pos in the earliest chaps.

Also, yes she HAS changed in my opinion, I think almost the same as Logan she's become braver and and doesn't get sacred of phantoms anymore. She can easily subdue them which has been mentioned but not really emphasized as much as Logan.

Also, unrelated- but that scene when they jump on train and Taylor holding unconscious by the collar is quite funny. Her dynamic with Aiden too is soo precious!

Oh yes another thing!!! She compliments(?) Aiden. Imao, she surely likes adventure/fun too like suggesting race for memorizing the layout and all.

Ik it's not that strong, so I hope someone with a stronger analysis than mine soon shows up!

Also, I don't have any fav in sbg gang, I love em equally but the these comments about Taylor were just so irritating 😤

i don’t think Light ever really believed Ryuk when he said he wasn’t chosen specifically btw. Deep down in his heart, Light needed to believe he was superior and picked for skills only he possesses, and more than that: if he wasn’t picked out, that means he had a choice in whether or not to kill those first two people. It being random chance that he got the notebook makes it his fault that he chose to kill two people. So, he has to believe it could never have gone any other way- and he was chosen for this.
