the fact that so much of yakuza 7 is about how there is no age limit on meeting new friends, adventuring, having fun, achieving your goals or pursuing your most idealistic dreams. after wasting nearly 2 decades in prison, ichiban sets out on becoming the hero his childhood self dreamed of being, and it doesn't happen in his late teens or his 20s. his adventure truly begins in his 40s. and thats ok.

frankly if we're going to commit to "innies are full people deserve to remain conscious for as long as possible" as the ultimate conflict of the episode why was there ZERO consideration of ms casey. LITERALLY the original recipient of "we're people not parts of people", the first innie we saw get decommissioned, we watched her know she was dying, we watched her bewilderment at the fact she was still alive only to get turned around and shut off again. only for mark to treat her frankly exactly the same way milchick did! you thought you were dead twice and i'm the person you like most in the world. go die again. for real this time. never exist again. the way mark at no point at all in the episode made any comment or consideration of ms caseys human experience disgusting. she wouldnt be any more doomed than mark by staying on the severed floor there was absolutely NO reason not to advocate for ms casey to stay if this really was about innies deserving to live. but it wasnt. it was about a white heterosexual romance to which the body of an asian woman was nothing more than an accessory. she wasn't even a person.
