Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Subliminal Platinum Bronze palette! I picked this up in the last Sephora sale in early September and pulled it out to use this week. That’s actually not bad for me, only 2 months of hoarding! 😉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There’s a ton of hype surrounding Pat McGrath makeup especially the palettes, so I was excited to try this out! And... it’s really great. The eyeshadows hit all the marks: pigmented, blends amazingly, lasts well on my lids. But they’re missing the wow factor for me. 😶 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maybe it’s because these smaller palettes don’t contain those super glittery duochrome shades that people rave about? The colours in this particular palette are completely dupeable. Is it worth C$70 for 6 shades? I’m on the fence. But I’m a teeny tiny bit tempted to fork out C$170 for the 10 pan just to experience the famous glitters. RIP Essence gel eyeliner. I’ve used this maybe 4 times over the last 2 years and now it’s dried out! I mainly bought this because everyone needs a classic black gel liner, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well no, because I rarely wear black eyeliner (I prefer dark brown) and I don’t like the hassle of gel liners (I prefer the ease of pen liners). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I can attempt to revive it but I find that the consistency is never the same. Inspired by @polishedandinspired recent trip to Japan, and my goal of opening some long forgotten makeup, I finally opened this custom ADDICTION eyeshadow palette. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Clockwise from upper left hand corner: 💮 Flash Back 069P 💮 Shangri-La 094ME 💮 Love Affair 021P 💮 Londolozi 081M ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was really psyched to get Flash Back because TAUPE! But I was disappointed by its low pigmentation and poor staying power. 🤦🏻‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, I ended up liking the other 3 shades a lot! Shangri-La, the hot pink, makes a fun pop of colour in the center of the lid or along the lower lash line. 💕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, you may notice that these photos show usage of the products. I used to get so hung up on only photographing pristine, unused products so I’d stash them away for eons before using them. In a recent video, Emily Noel talked about how great it is to see photos of products being enjoyed rather than in perfect condition, and why not just brands be the ones to show picture perfect shots. 🧐 She had a point! Have you tried Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Açai Facial Scrub? This stuff is so GOOD! 💫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t use it as a straight scrub, instead I apply an even layer all over my face and leave on for 15 minutes, then dampen with water and scrub lightly, then rinse off. It’s full of AHA and leaves my skin super soft and smooth. Also, it smells like blueberry yogurt! At $5.99 USD for 60g glass jar, it’s super inexpensive for the excellent quality. 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was only able to get my hands on this from a friend who visited the US recently. For this month, I’m going to make an effort to open and use all the makeup I’ve acquired but not used yet! Some have been waiting for YEARS! 🤭 . I guess I’m working on a Last In, First Out (LIFO) system since first up is a new item from my recent swap with @indiequeen84 : I want to gush about the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette! 🤩 . The formula should become the standard for all eye shadows: pigmented but blends easily, not powdery and no fallout, and lasts on the lids. I’m especially smitten by the shades Subtle Blend (bronze), Delicate Acidity (taupe), and Warm Notes (cranberry). For my East Coast trip, I decided to challenge myself by bringing only (mostly) cream products. My reasoning was twofold: less products to pack, and the cream products would be better suited for the drier Atlantic air. I only brought 1 brush with me! My favourite thing about all cream products was how quickly I could slap everything onto my face. I especially liked blending out the cream blush - I’m really having a love affair with cream blushers at the moment! 😊 My least favourite thing about using only cream products was the longevity on my skin wasn’t as good. The FireWorks Feast at the Inn at Bay Fortune was the most memorable experience on our trip out East!
