I need more Kai and Daidan immediately. I need Daidan being fiercely protective of the guy who made her see the light again. I need Kai leaning on her for support, feeling less alone in his grief over losing everything he’s ever loved and now Rusty too.

And I think it’d be neat if there was a bit of a role reversal the longer Kai’s trapped? (Which he still is which I’m still not over.) Like what if Kai begins to waver every now and again as time passes, and Daidan becomes the one reminding him he can’t become the monster?

Something something Daidan being nurturing and loving to the pathetic cat that is Kai. Coping with her own grief through protecting him. Something something them clinging to their souls together, holding each other accountable, helping each other not lose themselves
