You know how in the first Dead Boy Detectives episode, Edwin and Charles take a bunch of breaks to tell each other stuff that they already know?

Like, Edwin says out loud to Charles that they need to bounce before Death shows up, “or she will collect us, too.” As if this is a revelation to Charles, who has been cheerfully dodging Death for over thirty years.

Anyway. Rather than accepting that for the rushed exposition it obviously is, I like to imagine that the boys loudly stage this conversation every time they think Death is close enough to hear it. They’re trying to make her feel bad for them, so if they DO get caught one day they can tug on her heartstrings and bargain for release.

Death has heard this spiel at least a hundred times. She can recite it. “Do you ever think, what would happen if Death did catch us?” she mouths along with Charles, pretending not to know he’s just behind the couch. She thinks it’s adorable.

➪ Take the time to vote for Dead Boy Detectives in TellTale-TV's Favorite TV Shows of 2024 poll. You can vote once a day, but if you use different devices you can vote more than one time!

➪ Sign the petition, and share it frequently.

➪ Comment on Elijah (Not-So-Average-Fangirl) and Alex Myers' recent community posts, and Danny Motta's reel HERE as well to encourage them all (kindly) to react to Dead Boy Detectives (and in Danny's case, to continue reacting).

➪ Continue to talk about the show, create art/analysis/edits/etc. for it; if you're on Twitter, be sure to use the hashtags! #SaveDeadBoyDetectives is my go-to, and our current hashtag is #BrillsAndChills. You can also use #DeadBoyDetectives, obviously, but two hashtags per post are optimal otherwise Twitter might think you're a bot/spam account, so hashtag wisely! There are also a handful of fandom holiday events going on this month, and participating in those is a great way to get the show trending and pour love on Dead Boy Detectives at the same time!

There are so many signs of hope, so please trust those signs and keep streaming and screaming! Pressure breaks the dam, and while we cannot be in the room where negotiations and pitches are made, we can give Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz ammo when THEY enter those spaces!
