Well, I haven't posted in ages. Hello again, world. I've decided that instead of try to only publish finished works or things I deem "view-ready" on this blog, I've decided to use it as more of a sounding board. Basically a bulletin board that only weighs a few atoms (or however much my piece of cyberspace weighs). So voila, a video from earlier today. Nothing special, at least not right now. Bye for hopefully not too long.

Three days to go! The culmination of my creative progress over the last two years is about to be publicly exhibited. Sounds strange but I simply can't wait. I am truly proud to be a part of Exhibition No. 8. Not only have my fellow graduates grown alongside myself in leaps and bounds; our first years have amazed me with their breadth of skill and seemingly effortless technical accomplishment. It's bound to be an excellent show.
Exhibition No. 8 will be hosted at SPAO at 168 Dalhousie. The vernissage is this Friday the 19th from 15h-21h and the show runs through to April 26th.  Artist talks will be held April 20th, 21st and 23rd (mine is the 20th at 13h).
For more info, click here for Exhibition No. 8 and here for the Artist Talk schedule.
See you on Friday!

It's printing day! With the final exhibition rapidly approaching, everyone is scrambling to finish printing their pieces for the wall installations and for their books. It's my turn today and I'm so excited! There's something about finally seeing a print in it's finished form on paper...it becomes real. Anyway, say hello to Michael Tardioli in the corner there.
PS. The vernissage for exhibition is April 19th from 15h-21h at 168 Dalhousie (the land of SPAO). Stay tuned for details and more sneak peaks!

Here's a link to a very interesting project I'm collaborating on for the next four months. Called Noise Intercepted, it's part of a larger art movement (not a movement really, just a series of projects) called The Noise Project. Basically, from now until the end of June, participants are sent "noise challenges" through email and text that prompt us to explore and interpret the auditory atmosphere of our urban location. We are then given a week to submit our interpretation: scribblings, audio recordings, photographs, sketches etc. A total of ten challenges will be sent out at random intervals.
We've only received the first challenge, and I am rather excited to see what the next nine will be. Once completed, the entirety of submissions will be accessible on The Noise Project's website. I'm so excited!
Further, this project will allow me to continue exercising my creative mind after I graduate school in April. I fear a slump will present itself and this will be a concrete, albeit small, way for me to continue to challenge myself.
PS. They've decided to keep the registration open throughout the project - if you're interested, sign up!

Yet another blog is born...
Well, I've finally done it. After two years of procrastinating, I've created my first blog (well, the first one I plan to use). As a photography student on the brink of graduating, I am constantly asked if I have a blog or website where people can see my work. Every time I tell them I don't, I feel like I lose another opportunity. So here it is. A place for me to post my past and current work, provide updates about shows, and (hopefully) help a career to begin.
A little about me: I currently reside in Ottawa, Ontario and am a second-year student at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa portfolio program. My work (for now) consists of a combination of photographs and writing that, together, represent snatches from my stream of consciousness. They somewhat resemble a diary of sorts, or a journal. Stay tuned for examples!
