useless relays
I think that modern electronics should have useless relays in them that dont even switch anything but instead indicate things like that the tv is turning on after you hit the button or instead of a beeper when you press the buttons on a microwave
(for context if you don't know a relay is an electronically operated switch that makes a nice click noise)
