OMG I forgot to add this to my last post so I'm just gonna put it here! The best part is that her dress matches one of mine. I made it a while ago, one of my earlier dresses and she saw me wear it a couple months ago and when I mentioned making something for her, she immediately asked to be matching. Check it out!

Girl’s 1860s short sleeve dress made out of purple-flowered cotton calico! Ages 6-9 ish, would be worn as a day/around the house dress during summer, depending on social standing. Made for an old friend’s daughter. She was adorable and loved it, here she is!

(sorry for poor picture quality)
Love her so much and very happy with how it all turned out!

Hey all! Sorry it's been a while, I traveled over the holidays and have been very busy since then. I do have some new projects to share so I will try to get most of them up over the next week!! here is the first one:
New 1860s work dress, pink cotton calico. I did a lot by hand on this one and really quite enjoyed it. I will get some close-up pics and post them soon.

Don't have W/o apron. I traveled to the mountains for the holidays and took some spectacular pictures!!

Alright so against my better judgment I did start a new project. I recently joined a book group reading the works of Jane Austin and looking at the period etc. So I thought I would be fun to try a Regency-style dress! I've been interested in the period for a while and it's unique style, that has not really seen before or since. I'm taking inspiration from this pattern and this one! And, of course, my cat decided his place in the universe was on top of my pattern per usual

(^ first draft of pattern, I decided to make my own!)
I'll post again when I start assembling it!

New chemise! Made from an old bedsheet. My old one didn't fit right and was getting pretty old. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

A chemise is an undershirt/dress worn under a corset to keep it from chafing. This is a simple version of an 1860s chemise.

Almost done! Finishing up button-holes (hand-stitched in an endeavor to remain historically accurate) and doing a few touch-ups! I am quite pleased with how it's going.

Making an 1860, civil war era, girls day dress in this beautiful navy blue Kona cotton! I've been moving slow on this one simply due to wanting to do it justice and lack of motivation. I've also been taking the time to hand stitch all the hems for the sake of historical accuracy (you can see on the top left) I'll post updates as time goes on and I'm really excited for the finished product! (which will hopefully be done by Sunday).

So I do a lot of historical recreation sewing (specifically 1860s) and my friend suggested I keep a log or blog of my projects so I will! I'll post updates on my latest stuff and historical info about it! If anyone has any suggestions for projects/historical recreations lmk and I’ll look into them.

Little Red Riding Hood’s “cape as red as blood” in construction! Based it off of the cape in the 2014 film as my director loved the design of it. Used this great red/black taffeta. Love how moody it looks! Haven't added the hood yet so it looks a bit weird.

I know I have a repeat of the witch one, sorry about that.
I made a series of Gods and Goddesses, the 4 elements and the sun and moon.

Just a hobbies of mine but I've really taken to it during quarantine, I'll post my latest here and on my sewing blog costumes-and-stitchery
Random but when I was in kindergarten I had really similar dolls and I called them The Milts so that what I call the ones I make. I have literally NO idea why I called them that but the name stuck.
