do you have any thoughts on what your next published WIP will be? Sorry if this is pushy or pressure-y, I don't mean it that way I'm just a fan and wondering what you're up to.

no worries! engaging in that tag meme definitely opened the door for this, and i'm always happy to talk about fic. something camgideon is probably up next.

the truth, though, is that fic has taken a backseat for me right now! i have had a Hard Few Months and have been struggling to find enough energy to work, with very little left over for hobbies. so i can't say when anything will get published.

that said, talking about my WIPs was a lot of fun for me and those docs are always open on my laptop. i'm doing my best with them <3 and i really appreciate you caring about my work.

"Vi finds out" wip sounds very intriguing 👀

thank you! :D i covered this premise in another ask, but i can also mention that most of the fic is taken up by conversations with ekko about how AU!powder was helped by hearing about her older sister, and how vi's life isn't just a chip on the board, it's . . . a real life. that belongs to vi. vi has trouble internalizing this, naturally.

there's also scenes with caitlyn about how they wouldn't have met if the undercity had thrived, but how that isn't really enough to justify it, and vi's guilt about the impossible choices of what she'd give up to have her family together.

since so much time has passed since s2 came out, i wouldn't be surprised if someone else has written something like this in the meantime!

hi anon! i talked about this a little in another ask, so here's a longer snippet:

“If you didn’t want everyone to know who you’re sleeping with,” Camilla says, “you didn’t have to write it on there, Gideon.”

It hurts, to hear Gideon’s full name out of Camilla’s mouth, when minutes ago she’d been Gid. That’s how fast Gideon can fuck these things up. 

“Of course I did,” Gideon tries. “Everyone else does.”

“Not everyone.” And she’s right. Some other girls on the team have long-term partners, or like, self-respect. Their names are nowhere to be found. “Why do you write them all up there?”

The question hits her in the gut, and Gideon wants to double over. Maybe if she pukes, she’ll get out of answering it. “Because I’m Gideon.” She tries for a little hand flourish, a half-hearted bicep flex. “Femmes want me. Fish fear me. It’s proof that I’m, like . . . good at being a dyke.”

The truth of it hangs in the air between them. It’s humiliating to be pinned under Camilla’s gaze, like bacteria under a microscope. Heat rises to Gideon’s cheeks.

It’s not fair, either. “Why do you write them all up there?”

Camilla opens her mouth. 

After a moment’s hesitation, she says, “Because I knew you’d be looking.”

soooo curious about "vi finds out." the mystery of it all...

thanks augie :D this is a very sparse doc just full of notes and no prose. i wrote it all down after s2ep7 came out because i was feeling crushed by the knowledge that if vi knew all she had to do was die for the undercity to thrive, and for her loved ones to live, she'd have given herself up in a second. so ekko accidentally lets slip what he saw in the alternate universe, and it drives vi kind of crazy.

Pls tell me all about the obsessed w/ your ex au!

ty badger! this was born from my very true belief that every dyke (besides my gf) is attracted to vi, and therefore, when they were working together, it MUST have crossed maddie's mind. so months later, in bed with caitlyn, maddie accidentally says vi's name.

i wrote this oneshot right after s2 came out, and a draft is technically finished. i just don't know if i like it enough to edit and publish it.

a snippet:

It’s nice to have someone to keep her bed warm, but Maddie wants things. A full day of meetings with Piltover’s house leaders and debriefing with Ambessa has her head pounding, and all she wants to do is lie down, feel the heat of another human being, and sleep.

But Maddie says, “I know a great cure for headaches.”

“Me too,” Caitlyn says, pressing her face into her pillow. “Quiet.”

“No, something else.” Maddie touches the inside of Caitlyn’s wrist, the soft, tender part. It reminds Caitlyn that she’s not wearing armor, that she’s a person made of flesh.

cam and gideon are both on the university rugby team and live in the team house over the summer. in the basement of the house, there's an L-word style chart drawn on the wall of all the dykey entanglements the members of the team have gotten up to. gideon is Very Irked that cam has slept with more people than her, and it definitely has to do with Toxic Butch Pride and not like, wanting to fuck cam.

a snippet:

“You embarrass yourself all the time, dear,” Dulcinea says, not a hint of malice in it. Gideon tries not to wince. “It’s part of your charm.”

“But in front of—”

Gideon stops herself. She puts her beer down. Maybe she’s had too much to drink. 

It doesn’t matter, though. Dulcinea follows Gideon’s line of sight easily, finding Camilla in the crowd. “Oh, fascinating.”

“We’re in this stupid competition,” Gideon stumbles over herself to say. “Except I don’t know if Camilla knows we’re in it. It’s also not very, like, feminist, now that I think about it, but it’s about how many people, we, you know—”

“Bed?”

“Jesus, Dulcie, you can talk like you’re twenty-five, I promise I won’t tell anyone.”
