Tails and his Nintendo Encounter
Oh no, this is terrible! Tails is surrounded by Nintendo characters! He has no way of escape! To make matters worse, he’s all alone!
No Sonic to save him! Or any of his friends. Not even his fellow Sega buddies! The poor little Fox Cub! How will he get out of this predicament!?
These Nintendo characters are very suspicious of this cub. Especially Daisy. She’s just high up there and looking down at the poor kid.
Tails really wishes Sonic was around, the poor boy is too scared to move. He can't even bring himself to fly away.
Tails made one desperate plea to his would be captives. "But guys, I come in peace!"
"Yeah, yeah! That’s what they all say!" Came the voice of the brash Princess Daisy.
"I have read about foxes with multiple tails," Princess Zelda said. "They are a very deceptive bunch."
The time travelling warrior Lucina curiously glanced at Tails, almost feeling pity, "What shall we do?"
"We wait for orders," Ike said.
Now to make matters worse, we now come across the leader Isabelle and her partner Pikachu, both who have made their arrival.
Tails is really in for it now. What he wouldn't give for his best friend Sonic or his precious Aunt Sally to be there with him.
After some thought, Isabelle came to a conclusion. "He’s clearly a spy here to disrupt our peaceful life. Until he is ready to confess, send him to the dungeon!"
"Pika!" Her partner Pikachu agreed.
"Yeah!" Daisy cheered. "To the Dungeon!"
"As you wish," Ike said.
"Woomy?" Came the voice of the Inkling Boy as he curiously turned to the girl beside him. His question translating to, "We have a dungeon?)"
Tails began to panic at this order as the others readied to apprehend him. "No! Wait! Let me explain!"
"Sorry, orders are orders," Came the voice of the Young Lion, Roy.
Wait, who’s that in the distance!? Why it’s Ochako Uraraka! Better known as the Zero Gravity Hero, Uravity!
Where did she come from? What will she do now!?
Uravity strikes! Her rescue mission is underway!
"I’ll save you, little fox!" Uravity declared.
"Who are you?" A curious Tails asked.
Confidently, Uravity smirked at the young fox. "Just a girl who wants to be a hero."
"A hero?" Tails asked. "Like Spider-Man?"
"Something like that. One day I’ll be like him," Uravity declaired.
Tails glanced at the girl in admiration. "Awesome!"
Tough as Uravity was, there was only so much she could do. While she managed to defeat The Inklings, she still struggled against the others, especially warriors that were much more experienced than her.
"Halt!" Called the Nohr Princess, Corrin.
"Give up, now!" Lucina warned.
This posed a problem for the young hero."Uh-oh, we gotta run!"
Uravity had to think fast if she wanted to escape safely with Tails.
Uravity managed to pull Tails to safety. But just before she left, she caught sight of Link.
This silent warrior was far from happy. While he hoped to stop the two, both Uravity and Tails finally escaped.
Link would not forget the dishonor he felt today.
Tails was finally safe, and showed great affection to the girl who took a huge risk to save him. He has found a new person to admire.
"Thank you!" Tails said as he hugged the girl. "You’re my hero!"
"It’s nothing. I just wish I did a better job," Uravity said.
"You did enough, I really appreciate you. I'll never forget your kindness," Tails said. "Oh but, I never got your name."
"Call me Uravity," The Girl said. "The Zero Gravity Hero."
"It's nice to meet you, Uravity," The boy said. "My name is Miles Prower, but you can call me Tails."
"Tails? That's such a cute name," Uravity said.
Tails blushed upon hearing the compliment, "Heh, thanks."
Tails was finally home, and in the arms of someone who loved him dearly.
"I’m so glad you’re safe, Tails!" Came the voice of his slightly tall girlfriend, Cream.
"Me too," Tails said. "Boy, I can’t wait to tell Sonic about all of this. Knuckles and Amy too."
"You will soon, for now, just stay with me a bit longer," Cream said.
"You got it," Tails said.
"Aw, how cute," Ochako said, thinking back to a boy she knew, one that had a very explosive personality. "Wow, I wish I had luck being with someone special like this."
"I bet you will," Cream said. "Thank you for saving Tails."
"It's no trouble for your Friendly Neighborhood Uravity," the young hero declared.
Link however was not happy. Not just because Tails and Uravity got away, it because someone he cared about got hurt.
Link held a soft spot for the Inkling Girl. The two bonded a lot as of recently, and seeing her hurt filled his heart with rage.
Link clenched his fist with anger, the hero vowing revenge against Uravity for this, and he would not rest until he got that revenge.
Fortunately, two of his closest allies were there to reassure him. Lucina and Corrin were close to Link. Lucina in particular felt a strong sense of admiration for the Hylian Warrior.
"Fret not Link, Justice will be served," Lucina said.
"I hate the idea of looking for a fight, but I too will ensure the safety of our civilization," Corrin said. "We will protect our friends."
Link nodded in agreement as he tended to his Inkling friend.
Meanwhile, a mysterious being lurked around. Was this being friend? Or foe? And to whom? A mystery yet to be unraveled.
Until next time.
This is just a fun little story I did while taking pics of my plushes. Perhaps I will have more in the future. Thanks for tuning in.

Old days
Sometimes, I really miss the older days of entertainment. Movies seemed simple. Games seemed simple. Shows seemed simple.
Movies like Die Hard, The Terminator, Spider-Man, Batman, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Alien, Predator, Pirates of the Carribean, Rocky, Godzilla and Star Wars were simple.
Games like Sonic, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Super Mario Bros, Metal Gear Solid, Mortal Kombat, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Tales Of, God of War, Syphon Filter and Final Fantasy were simple.
Shows like Dragon Ball Z, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Naruto, Zatch Bell, Power Rangers, Yu Yu Hakusho and My Little Pony were simple.
This in addition to hybrids like The Pokémon Anime, Sonic SatAM, Spider-Man The Animated Series, along with other hero shows like Batman, Superman and X-Men.
Not to say newer stuff isn't good.
The Super Mario Movie was good, Invincible is a good show, as is My Hero Academia. Not perfect, but good. Plus newer games like Stellar Blade and Black Myth Wukong. Splatoon too. Not as new but still Fresh.
Some of the best new stuff just use the format of what made the old stuff amazing. I miss that. But I think we're slowly getting back to it.

My Favorite Sonic Pairings. (Plus some extras).

Sonally is my favorite among the Sonic pairings. To me, it's the definitive pairing for the franchise. When I think of Sonic's love interest, Sally is the one that comes to mind.
The two go together well. You have the superpowered Hedgehog Hero and the normal but capable Chipmunk Princess. Their personalities go well together. Sonic is all about speed and Sally tries to keep him grounded, but more often than not, he pulls her into his world.
Sonic is a Symbol of Freedom, something Sally always strives for. I believe deep down she envies Sonic's laidback lifestyle. Being a Princess isn't easy. Sonic gives her a taste of that type of Freedom.
Sonic's personality in SatAM is a bit different than in the games of course. In the games, Sonic's much more reserved and prioritizes adventure, and never staying in one place.
A game accurate Sonally would go like this. Sonic is always on the move, and while Sally misses him, she allows him to run free and be happy. Then when Sonic returns from his travels, Sally has a home for him. Sonic isn't always on the move, so coming back to a loving girlfriend who is eager to hear his stories seems like a compelling story.
There may come a time where Sonic is ready to slow down, but until then, Sally will let him run, because she trusts that he will always go back to her.

Sonaze makes for a good game pairing. It's definitely my second favorite Sonic pairing, and my go to pairing if I had to stick to game canon only.
Sonic has that laid back style while Blaze has that mission like mindset. I feel like Sonic would help Blaze lift some of the burden off her own shoulders
They have the speed to keep up with each other, and they understand each other well. I think they'd work well together.

Tailream is an example of young love. Now at their introductory ages, romance may be tricky since they're probably too young to think about it.
Then again, puppy love exist, and kids can crush at a young age. This could apply to Tails, and especially Cream.
Tails is an adventurer, something Cream yearns to be. I can see her admiring a kid close to her age that's able to do all these amazing things, and have a desire to be part of that.
Cream admires Tails for his intelligence and I feel like Tails appreciates just how wholesome Cream tends to be. A delicate girl like Cream could bring out Tails's more masculine side, and motivate him to being stronger, while she in turn learns to find strength within herself.
It is my favorite Tails pairing that has much more potential as the characters age.

Tailina is a random pairing, but it somehow worked well in Light Mobius. Tails and Mina look good together, they're great parents and it's just nice seeing them in a good relationship with one another.

Tailiona barely had anything to stand on. Tails had a crush on Fiona, but things went bad. But I believe that if a chance was given, Tails could give Fiona the unconditional love she's been starved of.
Shadamy is popular for a reason. You have the gloomy and slightly depressed Shadow, and the cheerful Amy Rose. It's not meant to have Amy be some Maria replacement, rather Amy is a welcome addition to Shadow's life.
Amy is one of the few that try to understand Shadow given her natural empathy. Shadow is of course very likely to appreciate and reciprocate those emotions, eventually at least.
I like the potential chemistry Shadow and Amy would show as a couple.
Shardicole works in a unique way. Shard is a Metal Sonic, and Nicole, having adopted much of Sally's personality, would like similar guys that she does. If Sonic is Sally's type, then a Metal Sonic is Nicole's type.
Plus it's lonely being an AI, so Shard likely gives Nicole much needed company and understands her while Nicole sees Shard as more than just a Metal Sonic.

Whisilver is an interesting idea. Now regardless of my feelings toward IDW, I do like the interactions between Silver and Whisper. Both know what it's like to see terrible things happen, but strive to prevent them from happening again.
I feel like the two could try to understand each other well, and heal each other from the trauma they've both endured, and become better from it.

Fang x Trip works in an unusual way. Gruff guy and gentle girl. I think Trip could have potentially helped Fang reform while Fang taught Trip to be tougher. Though I can't imagine she'd get that much tougher.

Kacchako is chaotic but fun. I feel like Ochako Uraraka would soften Katsuki Bakugo up a tiny bit. Not a lot since I imagine she likes his chaotic nature. But enough for the two to have a meaningful relationship.
Katsuki is one of the few who saw Ochako for what she was, a blooming hero that is meant to be taken seriously as a threat. Ochako sees Katsuki as more than just an angry guy, rather she sees someone with the conviction of a true hero.
These two have such amazing chemistry that they need to have more opportunities to potential show that off.
Midotsuyu is one of the earliest My Hero Academia ships with potential. Izuku having someone like Tsuyu who keeps him calm under pressure is needed for a boy with anxiety.
Meanwhile Izuku is strong willed and determined, something Tsuyu could find admirable. Given her own insecurities, having a nice guy like Izuku would be nice for a girl like Tsuyu Asui.

Izujiro seemed random but has its place. Izuku and Jiro have interesting potential due to their surprising similarities. Both struggle with insecurities, though one hides it better than the other. Both are also very passionate about what they do, and love taking notes on it.
Jiro admitting that Izuku relieved her of a lot of stress was really telling. It shows just how much she trusts him, and gives an insight as to how well their relationship would go with one another.

Gochi needs little explaination. Goku and Chi-Chi are arguably the best couple in Dragon Ball.
Ironic given the fandom's feelings about Chi-Chi, but honestly, she's much more tolerant of Goku's behavior that fans give her credit for. Plus she clearly loves him very much.
Goku's a goofball at times, and sometimes Chi-Chi needs to reign him in. But she knows he loves his family. I believe she is grateful to have married Goku, and he's grateful for her.

Cleon is a favorite of mine from Resident Evil. Leon and Claire went through a lot in Raccoon City. Leon may have seen other girls afterwards, but they can't top Claire for me.
I feel like Claire is the only girl who has been open and honest with Leon, while other girls are either deceive or are just incompatible with the unlucky rookie cop.

(Artwork credit to Lunatic Dawn)
Rumbelle is an interesting My Little Pony pairing. Rumble and Sweetie Belle have not interacted much in the show, and one of the interactions had the two arguing (which was the perfect "Now Kiss" moment for them honestly).
But it works with their personalities. Rumble is a jock, but still nice enough that he would treat his girlfriend well. Sweetie Belle is kind of dainty, but tough too.
There's loads of fun moments these two could have as a couple, and tender ones too. Rumble and Sweetie Belle would definitely share a bit of Sweet Affection with one another.

Cloti isn't the most perfect Final Fantasy pairing. Cloud has issues, and so does Tifa. But they try at least to be the best they can be. Tifa needed to be much more honest and open about her feelings, but she gets there. Cloud probably needed someone tough enough to be honest, but gentle enough to accept him.

Art by ameliacostanza
SpiderTwi. Or Parker-Sparkle. The only crossover pairing on this list. Made popular by the Spiders and Magic fandom.
The idea of pairing Spider-Man with a My Little Pony character may seem strange. But Peter Parker and Twilight Sparkle have a lot in common.
Both are intelligent, both strive to push themselves, albeit for different reasons. Both tend to overreact as well. Difference is that Peter has much more of a bite to him. Twilight, while not passive (main universe at least), isn't as confrontational.
What balances them is that Twilight is the moral support that Peter needs and Peter helps Twilight feel less uptight about things. It's a nice pairing with a lot of though put into it.
Well, I made quite a list, and I'm not really into romance that much. Some character just go well together. Romantic or Platonic, all these are great pairs.

Sonic SatAM and X-Men
Growing up liked a lot of shows. Two of my favorites were Sonic SatAM and X-Men The Animated Series.

These shows feel different but also have some key similarities among them.
For starters, they yearn for true freedom, and fight against any form of oppression. They are superhero groups to an extent, even if nontraditional. They strive for a world of peace and harmony. Easier said than done.
But, there's more to this than just that. These groups also have an adventurous vibe to them.
Sonic is an adventurous person. SatAM may not show this side of him much due to Robotnik's domination over the world, but when given the chance, Sonic spreads his wings to explore.

The X-Men are like that as well. They themselves go on adventures, to explore the world and different dimensions. That feels like an overlooked aspect of them. It's not all fighting Sentinels after all.
Wolverine is a great example of that. He was a world traveler before joining the X-Men.

Another similarity between Sonic and Wolverine is that neither guy really likes following the rules that much, or at leas the established leadership. They'd rather do their own thing.
Both shows have examples of strong leadership. Sally leads the Freedom Fighters the same way Cyclops leads the X-Men. It may not be done perfectly, and both Sally and Cyclops have their faults, but they do their best.

Both have a couple where the guy speaks French and the girl is from the country. From SatAM it's Antoine and Bunnie. From X-Men it's Gambit and Rogue. Granted SatAM's example was more of a comic thing, it's still got some small hints.

Both also have that wise character, or at least intelligent. I wouldn't put Rotor at the same level as Beast personality wise, but they are very calm characters who do their best to think things through.

Both groups give young up and starters a chance. Tails and Jubilee have a chance to grow thanks to the strong leadership examples they experience through their friends.
Both of course have faced some discrimination. Tails having two tails has made him the subject of a lot of bullying, and Jubilee, like many mutants in The Marvel Universe, has faced hardships because of her unique abilities.
For these two, it's not just about being a future member of The Freedom Fighters, or being a future member of The X-Men. It's about just having a good future in general. Tails has more to show as evident from the games, and Jubilee has her own potential.
Both love their adventures, but they probably wouldn't mind a somewhat regular life.

Both shows of course have their wise member who is best tuned to nature. Those being Lupe and Storm. Granted it might be a stretch, not to mention that Storm is an actual recurring character while Lupe did not show up until Season 2. But both are valued friends to the heroes.
Lupe leads a pack of her own where she is the high ranking chiefess. While Storm, as many comic fans know, would go on to marry T'Challa, better known as The Black Panther, and become Queen of Wakanda.

And of course, both have their main villains. Megalomaniacs who would do anything to shape the world in their twisted images. Robotnik won't stop until he's roboticized all of Mobius. Magneto won't stop until mutants reign supreme over powerless humans. Both have heroes that are willing to stand against them.

There are many other similarities, but these were the ones I mostly wanted to focus on. Two teams, different in motivation, but alike in many ways. Two great parts of 90s television. Two shows that created a legacy.

Many of my comfort characters include the likes of Goku, Twilight Sparkle, Sonic, Tails, Sally Acorn, Spider-Man, Mario and Luigi

They’re characters I care about, characters I like to reminisce with. Every year, I look forward to what they do, and hope it’s something o worthy of them.

I do get protective, I should always mind myself, but I will always hope for the best out of them and speak their praises.

Happy New Year.

Favorite Close Friendships/Sibling Bonds.
Here's a list of sibling bonds that I feel are wholesome, be it by blood or by pure friendship.
First there's Mario and Luigi, the original brothers in gaming. Throughout the years the two have always stuck side by side. Even though Luigi may at points feel like he's inferior to Mario, it's reassuring whenever Mario shows his brother how much he cares.
The move's plot was all about Mario wanting to save his brother, and going through a lot of trouble do to so. In the games, Luigi will quickly face his fears if it means making sure his brother returns home just fine.
Can't beat the bond that Mario and Luig have.
Sonic and Tails have a very wholesome bond with one another. Many see it as Sonic being the cool older brother and Tails is the little brother who follows him around and tries to be like him.
That's true, but just as much as Tails admires Sonic, Sonic also admires Tails. After all, Tails is the smartest person that Sonic knows and he invents so many incredible things. It's easy to see that Sonic is very proud of Tails and admires his genius.
This bond is a two way bond, both guys care a lot about each other and do their best to always help each other out and be there for one another.
Knuckles seems like such a big brother to Amy at times. It works well as the strong older brother and the gentle younger sister. Granted Knuckles has his softer side and Amy has her aggressive side. Whether these two rubbed off on each other or not is another story.
Amy is one of the very few people that Knuckles trusts with the Master Emerald, and he will leave her to watch it if he is evet unavailable. Knuckles is also very quick to protect Amy if she's in trouble, and likewise when Amy is not chasing after Sonic, she's seen trying to get Knuckles's attention in a way a little sister would.
Throughout Archie Comics, both in the Preboot and the Reboot, Sally's friendship with Nicole developed from a leader and her assistant to a big sister looking after her little sister.
Sally is the first to see Nicole in her Mobian form, and (along with Sonic), was the one who taught her how to feel true emotions. Sally always looks after Nicole, and always takes care of her. Likewise, Nicole always looks after Sally and does her best to ensure her happiness.
Sally already had a brother in Elias in the preboot, and she was close to him, but Nicole was someone she spent more time with. In the reboot, Sally and her father basically adopted Nicole into their family, and these girls have been the closest of sisters ever since.
Ryu and Ken are destined to be the best of friends. Their names translate to their martial art style of Dragon and Fist. Ryu was always focused hard on his martial arts, and Ken helped him see beyond his tunnel vision and realize what true strength is.
On the flip side, Ryu helped turned this spoiled rich kid into a respectable martial artist, and helped him become the fine man he would grow up to be. The influence these two had on each other cannot be underestimated.
Ryu's headband is a gift from Ken, an eternal reminder that no matter how much Ryu seems to struggle, he will always have a symbol of their friendship to help him push forward.
Spider-Man and The Human Torch have an underrated friendship. Spidey is close with other heroes, such as Daredevil and Wolverine. But Torch is a whole different level.
Peter Parker is an everyday guy outside of his suit. Johnny Storm is a major star even outside of hero work. Their opposite lifestyles built a close friendship, as both guys got to see what it's like on the other side.
Peter thought Johnny was lucky because of the quantity in his life. Johnny knew Peter was lucky because of the quality. Their bond was so close, Peter basically became like family to the rest The Fantastic Four. That cannot be denied.
Marshall Law and Paul Phoenix are the best duo in Tekken for many reasons. They've fought together for years, they've always had each other's back, and they grow stronger with each day.
Paul also looks out for the Law family, including promising to win prize money to ensure that Marshall's son Forest could recover after an accident. There's strong bro energy with those two.
Kiyomaru Takamine and Zatch (Gash) Bell are an example of a found family type deal.
When they met, Kiyo did not know what to make of Zatch due to his anti-social nature. Over time, Kiyo and Zatch bonded to the point where Kiyo learned to care and willingly looked after Zatch to ensure he would be okay, and help him become the new King of his realm.
Zatch knew Kiyo needed a friend, but on the flip side, Zatch needed one too due to how lonely he felt. The two healed each other and became a true family.
Sherry Belmont and her friend Koko is one of the better friendships in the story. Koko really helped Sherry out when things were really bad for her to the point that she actually saved her life.
When Koko was mind controlled by an evil Mamodo, Sherry would not stop until she liberated her friend. That showed true friendship and dedication.
When things are bad, a good friend could get you through the darkness. Sherry had that in Koko and it helped her become the fine woman she grew up to be.
Twilight Sparkle has an older brother in Shining Armor that she deeply loves, that is true. But most of My Little Pony was centered on Twilight's relationship with Spike.
While Spike proudly presented himself as Twilight's Number One Assistant, he showed to be much more than that. Spike was someone deeply loyal to Twilight, and always did what he could to help her.
Twilight probably did take Spike for granted at points, but mistakes like that can happen. In the end, she learned to appreciate her little dragon friend to the point where she finally called him her little brother by Season 9.
Going with a trio here. Applejack, Apple Bloom and Big Macintosh have one of the best relationships on the show. Any combination of these three usually result in great sibling chemistry.
The responsible but passive older brother, the stern yet adventurous middle child, and the energetic and quirky younger sister. The antics and wholesomeness writes itself.
From youth to adulthood, Goku and Krillin had an inseparable bond. Despite their rocky start, Goku slowly brought out the best in Krillin and inspired the monk to improve as a martial artist and as a person.
Krillin also inspires Goku in some ways, and without him, Goku may not have reached his level of strength, including the power of a Super Saiyan.
Regardless of anything, Goku and Krillin remain one of Dragon Ball's best duos. Krillin is not just Goku's best friend, I dare say he's basically his brother, and obviously a much better brother than someone like Radtiz was.
Growing up how he did, Trunks is lucky to have had someone like Gohan in his life. Gohan wasn't just a trainer to help stop the threat of the Androids (or technically Cyborgs), he was also the big brother that he needed, especially given that Trunks lost his father at a young age.
For Gohan, Trunks was the future, and a reason to keep fighting. For Trunks, Gohan was his hero, and someone he more than anything wanted to be as strong as. Even if their story had a sad ending, it still shaped Trunks to be the warrior he is now.
Credit to Caulifla and Kale. Despite their bond being shorter compared to most bonds in Dragon Ball, they still showed that they had a lot to offer and show when it came how a good friendship can go a long way.
Kale give Caulifla someone to fight for, and Kale years to learn from Caulifla's example on not only how to be strong, but to be confident in who she is as a person. It's no surprise Kale refers to Caulifla as "Sister".
Bayonetta and Jeanne may not have had the best start, but for their relationship to develop like it did is nothing to sneeze at.
Bayonetta was willing to go through literal hell to save her best friend, something like that is not very easy to top.
Despite not seeing a lot of Chris and Claire together in the Resident Evil games, these two are definitely driven by a desire to protect each other. Be it Chris lying to hopefully keep Claire away from danger, and Claire braving dangerous challenges to save her brother.
The incident on Rockfort Island proved even more how much they will fight to look out for each other and protect one another. Despite knowing the danger, they did not hesitate to save one another and would do it again if they had to.
In a franchise with such incredible adversity, seeing wholesome family dynamics shines a much-needed light and is a reminder that nothing is impossible, and that family is worth fighting for.
There's so much more, but I think I will cap it off here. Remember, friendship and family are important bonds, and must not be taken for granted. I bid you farewell.

Some Archie Character Reboot Ideas.

I've been thinking more about the return of Sally and The Freedom Fighters. Be it another reboot, a revival, a new show, IDW or even the games.
These are some ideas that have come to mind for me on any possibility.
First there's Nicole.

If Nicole got rebooted in any shape or form, I can see her as a hacker who assists Sally against Eggman in many ways. I also see her as a bit of a shut-in, due to her past prior to being adopted by Sally's family.
She strikes me as someone who could be socially awkward, and I imagine that in this timeline, she'd be an adopted sister for Sally, and fully Mobian rather than a computer.

I can imagine Sally being the only person she's comfortable talking to, but anyone else would be met with hesitation. As an homage to her shut in nature, I could see her using holograms or radios to speak with others, akin to how she first appeared.

If anyone could get Nicole to open up, it would be Sonic himself. He's very good at talking to others, when he wants to be. He's not the best for conversation himself, but his kind nature would be alluring for someone like Nicole who could just use some comforting words.
Nicole's backstory of being a shut-in hacker is partially inspired by a Persona 5 character by the name of Futaba Sakura.

A good friend could go a long way. I wouldn't mind if Sonic played the role that Ren Amamiya/Joker played in getting the shy girl to open up. Soon Nicole could have friends like Tails and Amy, just like Futaba eventually had friends in The Phantom Thieves.

I do feel like Bunnie's cybernetics would be Wispons this time around rather than actual cybernetics. It would fit the current direction that Sega is going. Just keep her southern charm, and you have potential for something good.
I can't see Antoine ever using a laser sword, even in a reboot he will stick with a classic sword. He believed his sword to be superior to the Z-Saber that Zero uses, and Zero is an iconic Mega Man character who's strong enough in his own right. That speaks volumes of Antoine's confidence in a sword.

I also believe that Monkey Khan should return somehow. Given that Chun-Nan exists, he could easily come back as a resident of that country, or even the Ruler of Land here. He has a lot of potential as a character.

Give him his own Freedom Fighters too, like the ones from the Archie Reboot.
If anything, they could borrow much more from Sun Wukong, the very character he's based off of. Imagine him going against Gaia the way Sun Wukong would against any deity that defied him.

Of course the Freedom Fighter story would just be an origin of them wanting to keep their town safe during the Phantom Ruby Incident. I imagine Sally has seen Infinite on multiple occasions.
Sonic Forces was just made for the Freedom Fighters' potential return. The fact that Sally and Bunnie cameoed in one of the comics is proof of that. Pictures only, but still worth mentioning.
And of course The Freedom Fighters would be allies with The Diamond Cutters should they appear in IDW. I can even imagine Sally as a mentor figure to Lanolin. Though I imagine it would be predated by a lot of bickering. Lanolin is stubborn and doesn't always listen to others, but may come to respect Sally while Tangle just admires her and Whisper respects her.
Then there's Mina Mongoose and Fiona Fox. I imagine their stories would cross paths with one another. Mina's good nature could balance out Fiona's cynicism, while Fiona is tough enough to watch out for Mina should she be too naive.
Mina's personality would be her cheerful and loving nature, while Fiona would be a nihilist due to old traumas, but not too anti-social. She just keeps a distance from everyone, except her best friend Mina.
I can't see any romance between either of them or Sonic, and that's fine. Last time there was, both girls ended up getting screwed over somehow and mistreated.
Mina would not be a pop idol per say, but it's a dream she's working toward while Fiona is still a medic.
I can see Mina at least admiring Sonic for his free will, while Fiona may find him a bit irritating.

Out of the Diamond Cutters, I can see Mina being best friends with Tangle and the two would interact a lot. All the while, Fiona may mess with Whisper a bit, but the two may find time to bond later.
They would also befriend The Freedom Fighters and be official members. Fiona's medical skills would come in handy more but Mina has plenty to offer.
Surge and Kit would be a fun interaction. Fiona might find the duo unsettling, and a look into what life she could have had if she had not befriended Mina.
Surge's personality around Fiona could mirror Scourge. Difference is that it's less likely to be romantic, and more that Surge wants to befriend Fiona, but their friendship is very toxic.
Surge could end up jealous of the bond that Fiona and Mina have with the other Freedom Fighters, The Restoration, and Sonic's friends.

When it comes to Tails, I can see Mina really admiring his intelligence, and wanting to be his friend. She may also find him really small and cute and dote over him.
Fiona may like Tails too, but that may take time. I can see her being annoyed by him at first, likely to call him childish insults (i.e. Twerp), and just mildly bullying him. She still has a soft spot for Tails though.

Lastly when it comes to Sally herself, she is the leader of her Freedom Fighter friends in their village of Knothole. They protected their town from Infinite and Eggman to the best of their abilities.

As mentioned prior, Sally could form a bond with Lanolin and in time be one of her dearest friends.
As also mentioned before, she'd have her big sister/little sister bond with Nicole. and always be ready to protect her.
She'd be a brave girl that goes after badniks, be it with Whispons or just on her own. She might even have an intensity that rivals Princess Peach in the old comics.
Like seriously, it's easy to forget how intense Princess Peach was in the old Mario comics (Or Toadstool as she was called at the time). Imagine Sally having this type of drive. Or maybe it might be too much.

I can also imagine Sally being in the movies as a girl who met Sonic once upon a time. Maybe they were childhood friends, maybe they knew each other in passing, but should Sally ever appear in the movies, there's plenty of story to be told.

I can imagine a situation similar to the anime Zatch Bell, where Sally is the one telling Tom and the others what Sonic was like back home, as she would be the only one from Mobius to know anything about him, even if it's something minuscule, like Tia having to explain Zatch's home life to Kiyo. She didn't know everything, but she knew enough.

I don't know what will happen regarding romance. In a perfect world, Sally is with Sonic. They are, for me at least, the definitive Sonic pairing in Sonic media. Like Superman and Lois Lane. Like Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson. Granted I prefer someone like Kitty Pride for Peter Parker, but you get my point.

Sonic and Sally are just it for me. But I know that Sega may believe differently. Be it the games, the comics, or the movies, Sonally just may never happen. That doesn't mean fans can't have some sliver of hope. Optimism is good, but be ready to accept reality.

I can see three potential replacements for Sonic if romance doesn't work out between them. Note, this is not mandatory for Sally, she doesn't need to be romantically paired off. But if they feel the need to, there are options.
First option, Monkey Khan. Back in Archie, I did not like the pairing between Sally and Ken. It was typical love triangle drama that did not need to be there.
This time around, there is no worry of that. Ken is there with his own story, and the romance thing could just be on the side or merely hinted at. If they want to go all in, they can do so without Sonic being pulled into that drama.

Option two is Mighty the Armadillo. The relationship between Sally and Mighty could mirror SatAM Sonally, without it being a complete copy. Maybe Sally's more chill, or Mighty is just a less hyper version of SatAM Sonic. Point is, there's potential.
Option three, one of my favorites, is Sally with Ray the Flying Squirrel. I feel like he'd know how to be that perfect mix of Adventurer and Freedom Fighter. He loves thrills, but shows some caution in doing so. I think Sally and Ray have potential for a good bond.
We could just skip the romance, or have Sally with a one-sided crush on Sonic. Sonic may never end up with her, but I can see something similar to Final Fantasy 7 with Cloud, Aerith and Tifa.
There was no major love triangle drama with them. Tifa and Aerith were good friends, and Cloud just have to make a choice eventually. It can be a nice running gag in the games and the comics.

None of this is fool proof, but it's better than nothing. Sometimes you just gotta take a chance, just be wise about it.
This is just more of my head canons on how to use the Freedom Fighters in the games, comics or movies. Or any other media. Perhaps one day, they truly can return.

The Rose-Acorn Family
This is something a friend of mine made that I spent quite a while coloring in.
This is Sonic the Hedgehog with his current wife Amy Rose, and his ex-wife Sally Acorn. Despite any divorce, this group considers themselves to be one big family.
Sonic may have loved Amy since he met her, and maybe his marriage to Sally wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, but the love exists in some way.
Sonic loves Amy, she is his wife and she means everything to him. Amy loves her husband, she's loved him since she's laid eyes on him and finally managed to catch his attention. Together they had a beautiful daughter.
Amy Rose is now the owner of a Bakery known as Amy's Kitchen, while also doing Tarot Card readings on the side. She is also a part time Freedom Fighter and helps Superheroes on Earth.
Sally was in love with Sonic, but he struggled with being married to a Queen, plus the two had some differences they couldn't work out. But they opted to work things out, and do their best as friends.
Sonic may not be married to Sally, but he still loves her, even if it's a different kind of love. Plus Sally is the mother of his son, and as such, Sonic would do anything for his son's mother, within his capabilities.
Sally is the Queen of Planet Mobius, and rules over the Castle in the Crown City of Mobotropolis where she commands the Freedom Fighters and works with Royalty from across the lands for worldwide stability.
Amy loves Sally, and Sally loves Amy. Them loving the same guy did not hurt their friendship. Amy never wanted Sally to lose Sonic, but Sally was more than happy for Amy to do what she believed she couldn't do, make Sonic happy.
These girls will always be there for each other, and they will always take care of each other, and help each other look after the hedgehog both had fallen in love with.
In spite of the divorce, there is a joke among some friends that Sonic has two wives rather than one. Sonic doesn't care for the joke, but he won't deny that both girls mean a lot to him, even if one is much more stressful to be around than the other at times.
Manik Acorn is the eleven-year-old son who was born to Sonic and Sally. He is proud to be a Prince and takes the role seriously, especially since he will one day be King. He also enjoys fencing and practices his skills with Antoine D'Coolette.
In addition, Manik also enjoys games. Refined ones like chess, but he's also fond of video games as well, and strives to be the best. He also enjoys reading comics, but these are hobbies he is hesitant to share as he does not consider them very Princely.
He was very bitter about the divorce, having been without a father since the age of three. He hated Amy Rose too, accusing her of stealing his father from his mother.
Despite that, Amy loves Manik like if he were her own son. The day he was born, she vowed to always care for him, because he is Sonic's son. Even after being married to Sonic, Amy still keeps that vow and always treats Manik well, even if he is disrespectful towards her.
Despite his ill feelings toward Amy, he is enamored with her beauty. And deep down, he appreciates how kind she is, and he enjoys her food. He's just too proud to admit it.
Manik also despises Sonic for leaving, feeling like his father abandoned him. Deep down he fears that his father does not love him and that he's just the embodiment of a mistake. But Sonic loves his son, he is just not good at talking to him. Both need to figure something out, and they shall.
Manik loves his mother dearly, and is very much her little man. She's always been there in his life and he in turn just wants to be the best Prince possible for her. He sees her as a good example of a strong leader.
Sally is tough on Manik, but she will dote on him just as much, because he is precious to her. She loves Manik more than her crown, and will give up the world for her son. She just wishes she could be a better mother.
When Sally is not doing Queen or Freedom Fighter duty, she is spending time with Manik, either helping him with his fighting abilities, playing chess (he struggles to beat her), or playing video games (another thing he struggles with against her).
He is also close with the other Freedom Fighters. In addition to Antoine, he loves and respects Bunnie Rabbot. He also spends time with Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf, the former who likes to play games with him too, and the latter who educates him about Wisps and Wispons.
His retainer is Lanolin the Sheep, the leader of The Diamond Cutters and Sally's personal protégé. He has a lot of respect for her, and she values her position as the prince's retainer. At times she has taken a big sister role, and while she does all she can to make Manik happy, she is not above disciplining him if he messes up, something she has permission to do (even if she doesn't always act on it).
He is also close with Jewel the Beetle, and she always checks up on him to ensure he's comfortable.
He is friendly with Mina Mongoose, mainly since her daughter Melody is in love with him. Manik is too shy to think about having a girlfriend, so he brushes the idea off. But he maintains his friendship with Melody regardless.
He is often at odds with Fiona Fox, a Freedom Fighter who once betrayed the group. Fortunately she was given a second chance, and lives in the castle. She likes to mess with Manik, like a bratty older sister. She will either noogie him, mess up his hair, or even throw petty insults. But it's her way of showing him affection, she does love the boy in her own weird way after all.
He has respect for Miles Tails Prower and Knuckles the Echinda for what they do, and is very fond of Rouge, for all the wrong reasons. He is a growing boy, and boys tend to like certain things, something he gets teased about.
He is also familiar with Blaze the Cat, but he earned her wrath when he accused her of being a male due to her being, as he put it, an 'Ironing Board'. He learned the hard way to never upset a woman in that regard.
He definitely loves Nicole, Sally's AI assistant and adopted little sister. He values her love, and never sees her as anything other than his aunt. To him, she is the purest form of family.
Manik's biggest fear is not being able to keep up with his father's family and being left behind. Given his history with asthma, he knows he can't run too fast, and it bothers him.
He's also afraid of ghosts, and as such, gets scared whenever he sees Tikal's spirit, even if she means no harm.
Sonia is the six-year-old daughter born to Sonic and Amy. She enjoys thrills such as running, sky diving, skateboarding and Kart Racing. I it's fast, it entertains Sonia.
She loves her parents dearly, even if it embarrasses her sometimes when her mother is doting in public. She has a cool image he wants to maintain, but will gladly flaunt her adorable side if need be.
Sonia is very much daddy's little girl, as everything she does is to make sure her dad thinks she's as cool as she sees him as. Sonic already loves his daughter deeply, so she doesn't need to do such a thing, but she tries anyway.
Sonia loves traveling the world with her parents, as they take her to their favorite spots, as well as look for places they've never been to. As a result, Sonia is not always at her house, but that's fine, the world is her house now.
Despite that, she has a favorite place in Mobotropolis, because that's where Sally lives. Sonia absolutely loves Sally and does what she can to spend time with her. Sonia is given that love in return as Sally loves to spoil Sonia with gifts, especially on her birthday.
Sonia is very enamored with Sally, to the point where some wondered if she had a crush. Sonia denies this, even if she once wondered what being married to Sally would be like. In the end, Sonia just sees Sally as a second mother, nothing beyond that. But if you ask Sonia, she will tell you that Sally is the prettiest lady on Mobius, aside from her mother.
Sonia desires to be a Freedom Fighter, thinking that being one means being a superhero, a job she finds cool. Her parents encourage her to do what she feels she wants to do, but also remind her to think carefully on what she truly wants. Sally wouldn't mind Sonia being a Freedom Fighter, but deep down, worries about that possibility.
Sonia has had crushes on older boys, such as Silver the Hedgehog and Ray the Flying Squirrel. These were mostly just phases, though she will admit that both of them are attractive in their own ways.
Sonia is close with Knuckles and his daughter Lara the Echidna. She is familiar with Rouge, but doesn't have a super close bond. She respects Rouge however, as a Treasure Hunter and as the wife of an echidna she admires and the mother of a girl she admires.
Sonia is close with Tails and his wife, Cream the Rabbit. She is especially close with their son Skye Prower. Sonia even has a crush on him, one that could grow if given time.
Sonia often finds herself at odds with a few of the Freedom Fighters. Fiona and Lanolin are especially annoying to her as they tend to criticize Sonia almost any chance they get. She also finds Antoine too snooty to be around.
Sonia does like Jewel, mainly since Jewel helps Amy run her bakery. She also finds Tangle funny, but also very annoying due to her hyperactive nature. She has mixed feelings about Tekno the Canary. The girl really admires Amy but to the point where Sonia finds it forced and cringey.
Sonia sometimes feels guilty because she believes it's her fault that Sally is sad. She knows that her father was once married to Sally, and while she loves seeing her parents together, she just wants Sally to be happy too.
Sonia also has a fear of small, tight places.
Sonia harbors a deep dislike for Shadow the Hedgehog, finding him more annoying than cool. She never understood his hype.
Sonia also knows The Mario Brothers. She respects Mario, but has a deep dislike for Luigi. All because he hit her with a Blue Shell during a Kart Race she was invited to, and lost as a result. She never forgave Luigi for that, even if he wasn't actually trying to hurt her.
Manik and Sonia love each other. Manik hides it more due to his pride, but Sonia is much more open about it. More than anything, she wants to spend time with her big brother, and keep a smile on his face. Even if Manik acts like it, he treasures Sonia and would go through hell just to make sure she's safe.
The two have a pure form of love and trust. Even if Manik says hurtful things to Sonia, she could never stay mad at him, because she knows he would never want to hurt her. Manik appreciates that Sonia would always be loyal to him, and hopes to never take advantage of that kindness.
In the end, this family will always stick together, and will always love one another. It is a unique form of love that they will always take value in.
This whole thing is for an AU of mine that I've converted into a Fanfic. Sonic: Roses and Acorns. Link Below. (Coming soon to AO3).
It's a story that takes place in a shared universe, featuring other Sega properties such as Shenmue, Virtua Fighter and Jet Set Radio. It also cameos superheroes like Spider-Man (this story is a spin-off of a Spider-Man/My Hero Academia crossover: Enter the Spider).
This along with Resident Evil (Raccoon City Heroes), is part of my shared universe of fanfics. But the main story is still primarily Sonic. Outside of flashbacks, most references to other franchises are via dialogue, such as the Sonic cast remembering characters like Fox McCloud and what not.
It's an ambitious story of mine. If you find time to read it, that would be great. If not, that's fine too. It's a lot to take in. Perhaps I will one day make another Sonic story, without the big crossover. It will be a story I would be more than happy to tell.
For now, this is all I have.
Sonic: Roses and Acorns Chapter 1: Power of Chaos Energy, a sonic the hedgehog fanfic | FanFiction
This is the artist who made this pic. He did the drawing, I did the coloring. Commission him if you have the chance. He's very talented. He's good with art pertaining to Spider-Man and My Little Pony as well.
That's my story here, hope you found it entertaining. I have plenty more where that came from.

Drawing Practice
I've always wanted to try my hand at drawing. There's a lot of stories I want to tell. Fanfiction is something I already do, but I want to do more than that. I want to be able to visualize my work and show what I can do.
I started with Sonic and Mario, two of my favorite video game characters.
There's plenty of stories I want to tell with Sonic, and I definitely hope to master drawing him and his friends, both from the gaming universe and the comics. I want to visualize the adventures he has with Tails, Amy, Knuckles and Sally.
Mario may not have as many stories, but I like the opportunity to try. Maybe there will be stories with Luigi, Peach, Toad or Rosalina. Hard to say, but the opportunity will come.
Then with luck, I can show off my skills for other franchises that I like, including but not limited to Dragon Ball, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil and Marvel Comics.
So, this is my start, and a reminder to keep practicing until I have more that is worthy enough to be shown off.

If the Freedom Fighters were in IDW Sonic.
One thing I like to wonder is what it would be like if The Freedom Fighters were in IDW Sonic. While the IDW comics are meant to be more in line with the games, that doesn't mean that the Freedom Fighters can't find their place.
Honestly, if the Diamond Cutters can be featured in IDW, I see no reason why the Freedom Fighters can't be as well.
Sally Acorn. She won't be a Princess like Archie, but she can be introduced as the daughter of Knothole's Mayor, giving her political ties. Knothole would be less of a hiding place and more where Sally grew up.
She'd have martial arts capabilities and be handy with tech. She could even use her ring blades from the Reboot to help her in battle.
Just to get this out of the way. Sonally may not be a thing in IDW like it was in Archie. At most I can see Sally having a one-sided crush. It probably won't go anywhere, it'd just be a neat callback, but their friendship would remain just that, unless Sega ever okays the couple.
Sonic won't be a Freedom Fighter, and neither would Tails for that matter. He may not be childhood friends with Sally either. They'd meet as teens and build a friendship from there. Sally could have heard of Sonic at least, or maybe she saw him in passing, but that's it.
Nicole wouldn't be an AI, she'd be fully Lynx. I can see her being a tech assistant though, or even a master hacker. Maybe even a teleportation device to have her transported anywhere to pay homage to her old abilities.
She and Sally could be childhood friends. But I'd go a step further and make them stepsisters. This takes inspiration from used SatAM concepts.
There Sally and Nicole were childhood friends until Nicole's brain was transplanted into the computer. When she got her body back, she was a kid, so Sally became like a mother to her. So Sally being the protective big sister works for her character.
We can go further and have her be rather introverted, and more likely to communicate through radio or a hologram than in person.
Bunnie Rabbot wouldn't be a cyborg. I can see her going the Iron Man route and just using mechanical limbs to fight. It'd be both arms and legs. She'd also be a childhood of Sally, and the first to want to go on an adventure with Sonic and Friends.
The cyborg thing is cool and all, but that would require a whole new backstory since roboticization isn't a thing this time around. It can be done, but I am sticking to this route.
If anything, you can say she needed the robotic limbs because she was paralyzed, so she can still be flesh and blood, but still not fully functional.
I can see her potentially bonding with Tails, as he may take a liking to her robotics, and she'd find his genius mind charming. He might even put his own spin on things and build a close bond with one another.
Antoine would be a guard working for Sally's father. He might be updated to having a Wispon, but still with sword like abilities.
Honestly I'd rather he just have the sword but in this type of world, he'd likely be armed with a Wispon, so it'd be the best of both worlds.
I can see him dating Bunnie, or at least flirting with her, but not actually married to her yet. He'd be between comedic coward and brave fighter.

Rotor would be a mechanist, and likely the one arming everyone. Sally's Ring Blades, Bunnie's Robotic Suit and maybe even working on custom Wispons.
He would likely build his own weapons to fight, if need be, but also much more comfortable as the support guy than a fighter.
I imagine he could have some natural strength, so he'd be able to destroy a badnik if need be, without tools.
As a whole, the Freedom Fighters concept comes from their introductory arc where it's revealed they fought together during the Phantom Ruby Incident to liberate Knothole.
They probably didn't really do much damage to Infinite, and most likely just played defense to keep people safe. But they were determined to keep their home free from Eggman's rule.
In this continuity, they'd be more side characters though, and not in every arc afterwards. They could have cameos like appearing in the Restoration, maybe even befriending Tangle, Whisper, Lanolin and Jewel, but that's it.
Like The Chaotix, the Freedom Fighters will appear when needed, and would likely not recruit any game characters.
Bonus character, one of two. If Fiona Fox were to return, she'd have her original role as a medic like she did in the old Archie days.
She could be sassier, akin to her Destructix Days, but this time around, Fiona's purely on the good side. Any sassy remarks could be her either playful, or she just gets annoyed and is more likely to tell you off.
No bad history with Sonic, and her interactions with him and Tails are sassy but respectful. She has no feelings for Sonic, and she's kind to Tails but may be the first to call him nerdy if he acts in such a way.
Any trauma she had could have been due to what Infinite did to Knothole, but this time around, she works on it and doesn't let it consume her like the old Archie days. It'd be her personal character arc.
Bonus character, two of two. If Mina Mongoose returned, she would be more of an aspiring Pop Idol, and working with the FF to achieve that goal to spread Kindness in the world with her music.
She could provide some meta regarding official Sonic songs, it'd be a better way to work them in than just having characters quote them and potentially ruining a mood.
Also, no drama with Sonic either. She never had a major crush on him, she just finds him cool and appreciates him as a Symbol for Freedom.
She probably won't have her super speed this time around, but she'd be fine regardless. If anything, she can fight with a Wispon.
So yeah, this is how I would bring the Freedom Fighters back to IDW. Not to turn Sonic into an Avengers Comic, or to put him and Tails in an official team, but to just add a little bit of depth to their world.
It's still Sonic's story, the Freedom Fighters are just playing their part in it, just like any other character. It'd be a fun addition to the comics, so long as it's done right. Maybe one day.

How Sally Acorn and The Freedom Fighters can work in a Sonic game.
This is a little essay I want to make on how Sally Acorn and The Freedom Fighters can potentially work in a Sonic game.
Brief summary. Sally Acorn is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics, and is especially known for being in the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, dubbed by fans as Sonic SatAM.

The characters of Sally Acorn, Bunnie Rabbot, Rotor the Walrus and Antoine D'Coolette are characters exclusive to this show as well as the spin-off comics. They are part of a group known as The Freedom Fighters, which also consists of Sonic himself as well as Tails. Their goal is to liberate their world from the tyrannical Doctor Robotnik, better known as Doctor Eggman, the main antagonist of the games.
These characters were made for the show, but I believe they can work in the game setting. It just requires a bit of tweaking to have them fit the Sonic Team vision, and this is how I would go about it.
Let's start with the gameplay, as that is the most important part of a Sonic game obviously, or any video game for that matter. Now, obviously in most Sonic games, Sonic is playable. In those games he runs at high speeds, hence his name. The gameplay reflects that perfectly. This has been a thing since the first Sonic game on the Sega Genesis.
Any games where one of his friends are playable usually have that friend running at high speeds. Examples include Tails in Sonic 2. When he's tagging along with Sonic, he's keeping up with his speed, or on his own, he has to show that same speed in gameplay.

This continued through the Genesis games with the introduction of Knuckles, and into the Adventure games with characters like Shadow. Some characters do have slower gameplay, like Amy Rose does in Sonic Adventure, but it's still speedy in its own right. Amy definitely has quite a boost in speed by Sonic Heroes.

The point I'm getting at is this. If Sally were to be in the games, there's two ways to go about it. One way is making her an NPC. Sally does not have the speed or abilities that the game cast have. So putting her in a traditional Sonic level would make her feel out of place.
Could she be given powers? Absolutely. But I feel like it messes with her charm. Her being a normal character should not be a bad thing. No one had a problem with Batman being in the Justice League. Sally has plenty of strengths, even if not in gameplay. She can appear in cutscenes, give orders, or anything. Not every major character in a video game is playable, and that extends to the Sonic franchise. Tikal didn't need to be playable to be important in Sonic Adventure 1 after all.
If anyone was going to be playable in a Sonic level, it would be Bunnie Rabbot. She has the cybernetically enhanced limbs and could speed and power her way through a Sonic level.
However if Sally were to be playable, an option would be to give her specifically designed levels that focus on her slower gameplay. It could even be stealth based. Think about the levels in the game, Sly Cooper. Sally could sneak around and gather intel to assist her team, and use stealth takedowns on enemies, or just fight.

Another feature would include having Nicole present in some form, either as a computer or in her Lynx form. She can even have a role similar to Omochao in which she would explain the controls or give hints throughout the levels.

Option two is this. A Sonic RPG. We've already had Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, but I think another Sonic RPG is due. Especially given that Sega owns Atlus, who are famous for the Persona franchise. An RPG is a great way to introduce The Freedom Fighters.

With an RPG gameplay, you don't have to worry about how characters can keep up or not. Everyone is at an even playing field. This is assuming that it's a turn-based RPG, like Persona, or the original Final Fantasy games. (And Sonic Chronicles too of course).

Most RPGs don't have that many people in a single party, so you'd still need to pick and choose. Chronicles was generous with eleven characters. So I'll bump it to twelve. My picks would be Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Silver, Blaze, Sally, Bunnie, Antoine and Rotor. We can have cameos from characters like Rosie, Dulcy, Uncle Chuck and Lupe. This in addition to the game characters of course.
The RPG route could be interesting, as it could allow for a mechanic known as The Affinity System. This system has been used in Final Fantasy 7 and Tales of Symphonia, and is particularly featured in Fire Emblem, and even the Sega owned Persona.
The affinity system allows for character bonds to grow through gameplay and side quests. This could be a fun way to show how friendships develop among the Sonic characters, and be a good way to show a bond when it comes to the Freedom Fighters. There's another reason that I will get into in a bit.

Another idea is to make a fighting game. It would be a Sonic Fighters type deal where characters from across the Sonic Universe could fight. And why limit it there? Sega could feature characters from across the multiverse, which includes SatAM.

Sega has what it takes to make a Sonic 3D Fighter after all. They have the Virtua Fighter team with nothing to do. Honestly it'd be funny if characters like Akira Yuki or Jacky Bryant made playable appearances.

Then again, having humans fighting Mobians (or whatever Sonic's game franchise calls these characters) might be troubling. Anyone who remembers the Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur 4 knows from experience how hard it is fighting a small character like Yoda.

Still, a fighting game featuring Sonic characters can work. It again puts them on even ground, and power doesn't need to match. You see games like Dragon Ball FighterZ or the Marvel vs Capcom games having crazy looking matchups that don't make sense, but it's a game so you don't have to think too hard on it. So long as the characters fit, then it's fine.
Be it a 3D fighter, or a 2D fighter, either way it could be fun to see the Freedom Fighters in a fighting game.

This mainly applies to the SatAM Freedom Fighters. Anyone from Archie could be troubling given the copyright issues. Not all characters have this, those like Fiona Fox and Mina Mongoose could theoretically come back. It depends on what Sega wants, but if they were willing to bring them back, that would be a plus. Mina and Fiona deserve a better story than they got in Archie Comics, and being adapted by Sega could be the fresh start they need.
I'm not opposed to other making it into the games, be it Cosmo from Sonic X, or Tangle and Whisper from IDW. They can all co-exist in the Sonic gaming franchise along with other characters.

Now to get to characterization. There's a difference between Sonic in the games, and Sonic in SatAM and the comics. Japan portrays Sonic as very humble compared to how the West Portray him.
In Archie, Sonic is very full of himself and a bit egotistical. He's very likely to smack talk someone. He's got a larger ego, and plays up the who superhero thing.

This is opposite of what Sonic Team sees Sonic as. Yes in the Japanese versions of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, he had something of an ego, and was rude, but he became pretty humble by the end of SA2 and from there, he's had a friendlier demeanor.

Why do I bring this up? In SatAM, Sally's thing was constantly telling Sonic what to do and keeping him from being immature. Sally wouldn't need to do that in the games because Sonic is already mature, so their dynamic changes.
Also, Sonic is not really one to be bound by this stuff. He's not a superhero type like Western Media likes to portray. (A misunderstanding he has in common with Goku). He always does his own thing.
Now I know I said Sonic's not a superhero, but I will use them to make the comparison. While the Freedom Fighters are duty bound like The Avengers, Sonic and his friends are like The Fantastic Four. They're more explorers than heroes, they just happen to do good things.

So while Sonic is chill and more mature than in the games, Sally can still find Sonic irritating since like SatAM and Archie, he does what he wants. Difference is that Western Sonic would brag about doing what he wants while Game Sonic just does it without the need to explain himself.
Sonic and Sally would have different dynamic. I can see her trying to get him to do what she wants him to do, but he's giving her a hard time. But he's nicer than Archie, and he's usually more respectful to girls, so he may try to explain himself at some point, only if he wants to.
Romance would not likely be there either. Sega does not want Sonic in a relationship, and honestly if they do go that route for him, he'd likely be with Amy.
I can see Sally crushing on Sonic, but it would be one-sided. He wouldn't return the affection and Sally may eventually give up. But the respect would still be there.
Also bear in mind, if Sally does become part of the games, that doesn't mean she'll be a main character. At most she'd be a side character and only appear when needed.
Backstories would need to change too. Sally may not be a Princess this time around, but Knothole can exist on an island where Sally is the mayor's daughter or something. Keeps it political for her and she is somewhat a Princess. It can even be a nickname.
Roboticization doesn't exist in the games, so Bunnie being a cyborg would either be due to an accident, or it could be an Iron Man situation where she was given robotic limbs. Rotor could build them.
Antoine could just be a knight. He may or may not be married to Bunnie at first, but that's not something I want to see rushed, so it's better off being alluded to. If anything, just say they're dating.
Nicole is tough. The original plans for her was that she was once Mobian, then had her brain uploaded into that computer. She gains a physical form again, but comes back as a child and becomes a daughter figure to Sally.
Nicole could essentially be Sally's little buddy like Tails is for Sonic if they choose to go that route.
Or she could be older and just be Sally's best friend, or even her sister either by blood or via adoption. I would personally go with the adoption route, it adds a bit more to their friendship without having to add too much exhibition.

It could be a simple game, either one of the classics, because the Freedom Fighters just fit well in those, or modern, which works too. Whether they already knew Sonic or just met him is another thing to consider.
If you go with them already knowing him, it'd need to be done carefully. Like Sonic met them once but didn't stick around. He lost contact with them because they couldn't keep up. Sonic's friends stick around because they could keep up.
But that's their relationship. Sally may not have a deep bond with Sonic, or Tails for that matter, but such is the way it is for Sonic games.
Though going back to the affinity thing I mentioned for the JRPG, theoretically that can be used as an excuse to have romance. Build a bond and slowly have the two fall in love. It doesn't even need to be with Sally though, you can have Sonic fall for Amy. You can have Sonally or Sonamy, and the best part, it doesn't need to be canon. Both can be what-ifs, similar to Final Fantasy when it came to Cloud with Tifa or with Aerith. Or the many possible Fire Emblem pairings.

This could be Sega just testing the waters to see how romance would be handled. If they want, they can even give Sonic an option to be with Blaze. Sonaze fans should be happy too.

Even so, let's say Sonic is meant to be with Amy. Personally, I say don't pair Sally with anyone. Though if she absolutely had to be paired with someone, I'd say maybe Mighty or Ray since they're game characters who can fit the Freedom Fighter aesthetics well. (Personally, I vote for Ray. Chipmunk and Squirrel.)

Oh, and I suppose I should discuss her wardrobe. I'll keep it simple, I don't see why Sega would need to give her clothes, I always found that double standard weird. Why is it okay for guys to go without pants but it's not okay for girls? I don't think any other game or franchise with anthro characters have that issue. Either everyone worse mostly clothes or no one did.
But if Sega feels the need to put clothes on her, then fine, no big deal. Just make sure they look good. Don't force it like the reboot did.

But that's my take. Sally can work in the games with effort, and Sega just needs to try. The key is getting her popular enough for Sega of Japan to consider her. But Honestly, having Sally in the games would be a great service. Sega has done great services lately, such as bring back Sonic's friends for games like Superstars and promising to bring back older franchises like Jet Set Radio and Streets of Rage.
I know SatAM has a different vibe from the games, but considering Sega's fine with The Diamond Cutters in IDW that do similar stuff like the Freedom Fighters do, and the fact that Sonic Forces had this rebellion thing, Sega's willing to go this route.
Mario has done similar with characters like Pauline in Mario Odyssey and Daisy in Super Mario Bros wonder. Sonic needs to keep up this kind of momentum. Let's keep up this momentum. We'll Rally for Sally as they say.

Thank you for reading.
