Wes Andersen

Born May 1, 1969 in Houston Texas, Andersen graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy. He is considered a film director, screen writer, actor, producer etc. He has worked with the likes of Owen Wilson, who is basically a good friend of his and is in most of his films, Luke, Owen's brother, Bill Murray, Olivia Williams, Jason Shwartzman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gene Hackman, Angelica Houston, Ben Stiller, Brian Cox, Willem Dafoe etc. He tends to use the actors in many of his films continuously as I mentioned Owen Wilson and Bill Murray. He sort of a strange director but a genius in his own right to discover flaws in anyone whether they be wealthy or middle class. He also tends to use color schemes in work from the original primary color to a sense of monochromatic. Movies that he is known for is Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou,  Fantastic Mr. Fox  and other that are in post production.

The films that I've chose are Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox

Rushmore 1998

Jason Schwartzman plays your typical 15 year old boy crushing on a teacher who played by Olivia Williams. But she has a suitor who is Herman Blume played by Bill Murray. Jason's character Max goes to Rushmore Academy where he encounters Olivia's character Rosemary and confesses his love to her only to be let down numerous amount of times. Herman Blume woos Rosemary even though him and Max had become friends. Max soon finds out and tries to get even with Blume. Antics continue between the two only for Max to find out from Blume that he will never have hope for love with Rosemary. Due to the antics, Max gets kick out of Rushmore and finds himself in a dark place; only to find that there is still hope. So after he is relieved of his moping he goes back to school to apply himself and meets someone that was in one of his plays. Their love grows strong even though he attempt for one more try at Rosemary but for Blume due to them breaking up prior.

The Royal Tenebaums 2001

This one was a strange one. Gene Hackman plays Royal Tenebaum a lawyer who was later sued by his son Chas Tenebaum played by Ben Stiller. The other children were Margot played by Gwyneth Paltrow and Richie played by Luke Wilson. These two had a strange relationship because they escape from home to an lived in the African exhibit. Chas Tenebaum was an accountant at a very young age. Richie was accomplished tennis player at age 17 and Margot was a world renowned  set designer and playwright. these were some amazing kids at such young ages only to become warped once they got older. Chaz was overprotective of his sons, Margot had an smoking problem as well as cheating on her husband Raleigh St. Clair played by Bill Murray with Richie best friend Eli played by Owen Wilson. Richie has been on a mental breakdown after he lost his tennis match and has been on a ship out at sea ever since.  They're parents are getting a divorce and after a certain amount of years of separation, Royal comes up with a plot to get back with his wife and children only to find out that she is being courted by her accountant Herman played Danny Glover. Soon Royal is found out and all hell breaks loose. With Eli almost running into Chas' sons  and Richie slitting his wrist etc. Ethliene the mother played by Angelica Huston soon marries Herman and Royal dies for real this time.

Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009

Based on an book by Roald Dahl; a stop motion feature of its kind; with like of stars such as George Clooney who plays Mr. Fox, Meryl Streep who plays Felicity his wife and Jason Schwartzman who plays Ash his son. Basis of the movie is There are three farmers who have a great harvest and Mr. Fox goes there to steal the food for his family. Even though it had seem wrong all he wanted to do was take care of his family. With his friend the Badger played by again Bill Murray tells him that it is too dangerous for foxes around where the farmers were at. Mr. Fox was willing to take the risk with his wife being pregnant with the end of the movie.Through tunnels was how he got the food. Soon the animals were forced to the sewer in which they dwell; but not without a fight from Mr. Fox. The Farmers had captured his nephew Kristofferson due to him saving Ash from a bully and to get his father's tail back from a previous battle with farmers and Mr. Fox.  Mr. Fox fought with the Rat played by Willem Dafoe who was one of the farmers' security. Rat was wounded a told Mr. Fox where his nephew was. As mentioned before all the animals moved to the sewer which was under a supermarket where they would be fed for days and Felicity could have her baby safely.

Why Design?

When you wake up in the morning do you truly think what am I going to design today. No, a regular person tends to worry about nourishment and by all means other things like what they need to do during the day. No, not artist, a person rather with the mind of an artist. We think of what new ideas we can think of to change the world. Even though we see stuff everyday; the world is a blank slate ripe for the picking.  A designer, illustrator, photographer etc see what beneath the surface rather than the social norm. So I say why design? I design because my mind is all running with new ideas. I design because what I see can ignite me to create something no one can think of. I believe in every profession there is a designer that pleases with their works whether it maybe a surgeon, or a carpenter etc. We choose to design to let the world know art can be a heavyweight anywhere. Question? If there wasn't any designers how do you think the outlook of the world would look like? I leave that question in the air. Why do you design?
