my favourite legendary is spectrier. i met them once but we didn’t really get to talk for long. they were nice though.

mythical… marshadow is neat. they hide in shadows, like me :)

ultra beast is a hard one because i don’t really know that much about any of them, but i think xurkitree is neat

hmm it’s interesting. a lot of the things you’ve mentioned about glitch pokemon match with some of the stories (whether true, exaggerated, or pure myth) about certain ghost types.

i also wonder about the litwick line. it’s a bit different in that it’s not exactly looking at the flame that drains your energy, it’s the flame itself. and they can turn that aspect on and off whenever they want. i don’t know how similar that is but it’s also a very interesting pokemon.

so i was thinking about what you said about some glitch pokemon having “visualtoxins”, where sometimes it hurts to look at them. and i was thinking about mimikyu. because looking at mimikyu’s true form hurts people (although usually it’s not actually fatal, there’s only a few recorded cases of that. usually it’s partial amnesia of the few hours leading up to your poor choice).

and i was wondering if that might be a similar thing. i know people say it’s just that mimikyu is that scary under the cloth, but that doesn’t sound right because. it’s mostly just shadowy. sometimes their eyes go glowy.

Actually, you would be one hundred percent correct to call Mimikyu's hidden form visually toxic! This is something that's been discussed quite a bit within the Glitch Science community.

Mimikyu actually has a stronger categorization of visualtoxin than nearly any other visually toxic pokemon. The only pokemon that comes close is 4 4, a pokemon who's visualtoxin can cause migraine headaches, blindness, or in the worst case scenario, seizures. Other than 4 4, no other pokemon comes close to the potency of visualtoxin that a Mimikyu possesses beneath its disguise. It's actually quite interesting I think, that even though visualtoxins are most commonly thought of as an attribute of Glitch Pokémon, is most potent in a pokemon that people consider much more "normal". If not a bit spooky.

But yes! That's an excellent observation! And one I completely agree with!

mine’s in a ceramic counterfeit from the 2010s but i still love them. still baby :)

they’re very picky about the way they’re cleaned actually. they take pride in looking nice even without the stamp of authenticity.

Yay a fellow galarian with a polteageist mines been around since the Prohibition (his pot was originally used to secretly serve alcohol) his name is moonshine and the pot itself has been in the family for generations though only became possessed fairly recently either way all his tea is mildly alcoholic any odd quirks about your polteageist

That's super interesting! My Polteageist's pot is pretty old too, it was manufactured around 1890 if I recall correctly. It actually wasn't my teapot, it was one belonging to the hotel I was working at at the time, from the same tea set that his teacup came from back when he was a Sinistea. He refused to use any other teapot to evolve so I basically had to convince my boss to let me steal it lol. As for any quirks about his tea itself, it has a slight metallic taste. I'm not sure if it's because of the material of the pot, or if it has something to do with his feisty personality.

Stuck in the endless, boring purgatory of the bureaucratic red tape involving his return to the Galar League, Aster has decided to go on a roadtrip!

Hi Allister

I live in an apartment in Wyndon, and I was wondering if Mimikyu would possibly be a good ghost type for me to look into training? Do they need a lot of space to move around or would they be content in an indoor space with no backyard? Also, would the city lights or sounds be likely to bother one? I have a lot of time on my hands to devote to socializing with it and taking care of it and I've been looking for a ghost type to dote on.

mimikyu are used to living around humans and in human cities... they don't need outdoor spaces, and in fact wild mimikyu often choose to live exclusively in abandoned human buildings. they're very adapted to human contact, so as long as you have the time to give it attention and affection, you'll be fine :)

lots of the time in movies people show ghosts as hiding in corners and stuff but that’s not really common because the people that stick around the world of the living are the ones that like to be where the people are! ghosts tend to be found more easily hanging around the living. sometimes a ghost will take a shine to someone they might not have even known in life. lots of people have ghost friends.
