"do you believe in fate?" a poem by yours truly, written for my love.

do you believe in fate?
i do.
i saw a vision, the day before we met.
it late at night, i was on the very edge of falling asleep.
it was a long, red string of yarn.
it was tethered to my ring finger, on my left hand. knotted around tightly, but not tight enough to be uncomfortable.
i looked around me.
i was standing on a beach. instead of sand, there was smooth rounds of rose-colored sea glass.
my eyes trailed down my own body, and landed upon my hands. i spotted the string, and followed it. it led into the ocean, the dark turquoise water seemed to gesture at me to join it.
and join it i did.
i waded through the water for a long, long time.
then, i spotted an island. there was a masculine figure atop it.
and on his finger,
was the end to the red string.
