"Please. I've told you everything I know." The prisoner tried to twist away from the interrogator's grip. "I swear, there's nothing else--please…"

"Good," the interrogator purred, tightening his grip on the prisoner's chin. "Now that I don't need to worry about damaging you too badly to talk, I can have some real fun with you."

The Whumpee hits away an offered cup of water. It bounces off the table in the small interrogation room and splashes a conspicuous wet stain against the concrete wall. “I’ll say it again - I don’t take anything from people like you.” The Whumper just blankly stares at them, then wipes their thumb under their nose with a habitual sniff as if they were having a bump. The Whumper looks clinically at the water stain on the wall before looking back at the Whumpee. “And yet you take so much of my patience.” The Whumpee spits indignantly in the direction of the Whumper. The Whumper’s response is so swift that there’s barely time to think. In a heartbeat, the Whumper’s chair is thrust backwards as they stand and reach across the table and seize the Whumpee by the front of their jacket. The Whumper pulls them around like a ragdoll and slams the Whumpee’s back against the wall and presses them against the wall with a fist wrapped in their clothes. “It’s not the disrespect that gets me, it’s the moral high ground that you think you’re on,” the Whumper growls. “As if it’s ever that easy. As if I choose where I am. As if I don’t have my own masters,” they say, pulling the collar of their shirt down to show a small glimpse of their brutally branded skin. The Whumpee can only cough as they listen, struggling for breath and ignoring the taste of blood in their teeth. “You and your ilk love to live as if there is a greater good, but there is no such thing. And your belief in it is a sickness.” The Whumpee weakly grabs at the Whumper’s arm that keeps them pinned to the wall, but they can scarcely manage a meaningful struggle. “You may hate me, but you know nothing about me. And your ‘greater good’ is nothing more than the shared delusion of the unencumbered few.” The Whumper lets go of the Whumpee and leaves them there for now. They’ll be back soon enough to get what they want.

i think shame & its manifestations in whump is not talked about enough. like i love when whumpee is physically unable to tell caretaker about all they went through, not only because it is insanely distressing to relive but also because it's humiliating. 'how can someone be so cruel?' is another question, but we're also talking 'how did i let that happen to myself?' from whumpee's perspective. often times post something traumatizing whumpees develop this deep-seated feeling of hopelessness & helplessness & misguided anger which is just in sweet words not cool

because think about it, the whumpee could not stop anything from happening to them. there's always this notion of having to stand up for yourself, but whumpee didn't even get the chance to. who should you be angry at? whumper? the system? yourself?

the fact that it happened is so terribly real and if paired with the conditioning of whumper & possible victim blaming, the shame eventually turns into this twisted form of denial, where whumpee is unable to confront the fact that they were hurt so bad and it just turns into oh my god i hate that it happened to me. i want to erase that it all happened. i wish i could live just one day forgetting it all and wake up thinking what was i so stressed about? i wish i could walk past whumper and think 'who were they again'? nobody should know about this because i cant deal with it myself and i don't know what i'll do if it all goes out

So ive came across whump half a year ago and decided to FINALLY make a place for all the ideas i have:)

My favourite topics are:

• being whumped for information

• whipping

• hurt/comfort and sometimes only hurt

• broken bones (fingers, ribs and wrists)

• removing fingernails (im bad at writing these, but i will stubbornly try)

im kind of interested, as a person in the whump community under the age of 18, what percentage of this community is under 18. i see a lot of whump blogs that say minors DNI, which is a struggle for me since i literally thrive off reading whump. is it weird for me to enjoy whump since im underage and the topics we write about are typically quite fucking disgusting?

I don’t usually make posts like this but I feel like it’s right for the community to know about and block this person.

@helpful-writing-tips has been stealing people’s posts, including posts from the whump community, and posting them without consent (sometimes with credit but often without).

I’ve tried to reach out to them directly and discuss how what they’re doing goes against tumblr etiquette and isn’t acceptable but I’ve received no response and I feel like people should be able to prevent their work being stolen for notes.

reminder that you can and most certainly should be self indulgent in your whump writing. no that's not too much blood. yes you should add a whipping scene. you think it's over the top? it's not enough. if you're not giggling and screeching internally and kicking your feet then what even is the point

I didn’t get the maths autism or the science autism or even the fandom autism. I got the ‘reads up on the legal frameworks for prosecuting torture at 3am then resolves to make a letterboxd list of films containing torture according to the UN definition’ autism

A Whumpee who’s tied down but relentlessly defiant, so Whumper has to keep finding more ways to restrain them.

When Whumpee kicks, Whumper ties their feet. When Whumpee spits, Whumper gags them. When Whumpee rams their head against Whumper’s face, they secure it to the floor with a short length of rope.

Even as Whumper immobilizes them, Whumpee’s eyes gleam with triumph, because Whumper’s not walking as well as they were before, and blood runs steadily from their freshly crooked nose. Because even tied down, Whumpee caused plenty of damage.
