Hello, just wanted to pop in and say thank you to those who have been keeping the fundraiser post alive ❤️ My chronic illness got worse along with some big life stuff happening and I wasn't able to keep posting. At the time I had to step away, there were not a lot of reblogs & very few donations. I happened to check back today and see it was getting more traction. Thank you especially to @jo-harrington & @queenimmadolla for your efforts. It really means so much.

If anyone's interested in being added to the blog to make posts please feel free to reach out. I hadn't asked before because it seemed like it wasn't going anywhere, but I am open to that! I do think it could be great if it gets built up, I'm just not in the health to do so right now.

Meet Verena & Abdallah | Current Action: Supporting Operation Olive Branch & Abdallah's family in Gaza

[This fundraiser is vetted through Operation Olive Branch.]

Stranger Fans 4 Humankind is boosting the fundraiser of Verena & Abdallah to help Abdallah's family escape Gaza to safety. The ask is small - $5 (€5) or simply your time! Together we can make a huge difference for one family.

Abdallah is a medical student in Munich, Germany, and also works at a local nursing home. He is pictured above with his fiancée Verena, who is assisting with the fundraiser for his family who are trapped in Gaza.

Abdallah's 71-year-old father has lymphoma and urgently needs medical treatment. His sister is caring for four minor children amidst the crisis in Gaza. The family lives in constant fear of bombings, living with no electricity and struggling to get food.

Amid power outages and dwindling food supplies, my fiancée’s sister’s son battles fire and wood outside to prepare food. The food supplied by organizations is often expired and is no longer edible. The emergency in Gaza is more urgent than ever.

Stranger Fans 4 Humankind

Action: Supporting Operation Olive Branch & Abdallah's family in Gaza

Operation Olive Branch is a grassroots, volunteer-run project to boost Palestinian voices & coordinate mutual aid. They have a spreadsheet of fundraisers to provide mutual aid for families in Gaza. All fundraisers are vetted through OOB to check that the organizers are legitimate.

Verena and Abdallah are raising funds to evacuate Abdallah's father, sister, and her four children from Gaza amidst the ongoing violence from the Israeli government.

Abdallah's father, aged 71, is battling lymphoma and urgently requires medical care that is unavailable due to the ongoing conflict ... His condition is deteriorating rapidly, and any delay in treatment could cost him his life.  Additionally, Abdallah's sister suffers under the oppressive conditions in Gaza. She faces the daunting task of protecting and providing for her four minor children amidst the conflict. Your donations can help us procure food and medicine to ensure the survival of my fiancé's family, his sister, and her four children in Gaza. If enough funds can be raised and evacuation is possible, we could offer them a chance at safety and a better future.

Here is what you can do to help!

Priority 1:

Donate $5 (€5) to Verena & Abdallah's fundraiser. (If just 0.1% of the #stranger things tag donated $5 they would reach their goal!) You can also find the fundraiser link on line 198 of the Medical/Disabled tab on OOB's spreadsheet.

Reblog this post. This helps even if you cannot donate, because it will reach more people who can!

Offer Stranger Things fanworks to celebrate reaching donation goals! If you create fanworks of any kind (fan edits, fan art, gifs, show analyses, etc.) and want to offer one as celebration for reaching specific goals, DM us. This will help us build up excitement for the Action and keep momentum going!

Contact your representatives to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. (Call, email, or fax)
