Snippet of Chapter 2 of "The Spotless Mind"

Nancy gasped for air as she was snapped back to reality,her panicked blue eyes darting around the cramped car. She had no idea what had just happened and why,but for some reason,she felt like a part of herself had come back,even if it was stressing her out. Nancy looked down at her pale,shaking hands,trying to calm herself down. She knew about Will's powers,but she never remembered asking him to use them on her. Nancy swiped sweat off of her forehead,slowly reaching out for the steering wheel so she could drive back home.

Nancy wasn't too sure if she could tell Steve about this or not,but little did she know, she didn't have to. When she swung the door open,she saw a familiar head of short,brown hair and large brown eyes,"Will? What are you doing here?" He cleared his throat,murmuring,"I'll tell you when you come inside,alright?" Nancy tilted her head in confusion,was this something serious? She was about to find out,and she was sure it would wreck her world,for sure. Just like finding out about a different dimension existing wrecked her world years ago.

Nancy eventually found a seat on the couch,grabbing a blanket off of a cushion and laying it on her legs. Will then opened his mouth,reluctant to speak. His eyes darted around the room,he only did that when he was worried. "Will,what you have to tell isn't that bad,right?" She knew Will would only add to her worries,but she atleast had some hope it would be good. And it would be,right?

"Based on how you take this,it could be good or bad news." Will sighed,Nancy hated how vague he was being,"So what is it,then?" Will grabbed a soda from the couch,sipping on it before he opened his mouth to answer. "I'm sure you remember that power I told you about,the one where I can hold memories of others. Well,I felt one of those memories go back to someone,and I'm sure it was you. Now,on paper,there aren't any consequences,but you tried to give a memory to me for a reason,and it must've been a not so good reason." Nancy let the thought sink in,her gaze stuck on her shoes. She heard a surprised chuckle beside of her,she looked up to see a head of fluffy brunette hair. It was obviously Steve,who spent hours on his perfect hair. "What's so bad about that? It's just one memory coming back,not all of them." Will let out a quiet sigh,obviously reluctant to say what he had to say next,"Except it's not just one memory that will come back. I've taken other memories before,and when one came back,usually all of the others would come back too. It's not like they all come back at once,it's a slow process. Meaning that Nancy would have to relive these memories that she lost."

Nancy's pink lips were slightly parted in surprise,whatever happened to her,would come rushing back and she didn't like the idea of that,being vulnerable and emotional again,it was never her thing. "Can't I just stop them from coming back?" Will shook his head,disappointed in himself,"That's not very likely,I'm sorry. And if I did try to stop it,they might come back again,because this must be happening for a reason. I don't know what reason that might be,but there is one."

Just a little oneshot

Nancy walked into Family Video,the bell on the front door alerting Steve. "Hello,Wheeler!",He waved at her,giving her a small smile. "I need suggestions for horror movies. For some reason Mike wants a gory one if you have any of those." Steve looked through the horror movie section before pulling out a few movies with an "Aha!". Steve came back with 5 tapes in his arms," We've got Evil Dead,The Burning,Sleepaway Camp,The Slumber Party Massacre,and Christine."

Nancy's eyes looked behind Steve,she was hoping to see Robin. Steve started to explain each horror movie,but Nancy could barely pay attention to him. She only had a few weeks until her and Robin went off to college,what if she missed her chance to get with Robin? No,she wouldn't. She had to quickly tell Robin her feelings. Nancy was snapped out of her thoughts when Steve groaned and said her name," Earth to Nance. I can see you spinning around the sun."

" Oh sorry,what were you saying?",Steve didn't go on to explain his choices in horror movies,he just pushed the tapes aside and looked at Nancy with a look of concern. "You aren't paying attention,what is on your mind?"

" College." Nancy forced a smile. "You expect me to believe this is just about college?" Steve raised an eyebrow at Nancy,he waved his hand as if signaling for her to start talking. "It is just about college." Steve groaned,running his hands through his hair. "You've been talking about Robin and about how she's not going to the same college as you for months! This is about Robin."

"Fine,if I were to admit that I maybe want to date Robin and were worried about her finding some boy at college,would you leave this be?",Nancy sighed,leaning against the counter," I'm worried that she might be the wrong girl to tell about me liking boys and girls. If I tell her,I'll lose her and I'll have a bad future in Hawkins."

" Robin's not the wrong girl,Nance. Trust me.", As if she were summoned by Steve and Nancy talking about her,Robin busted through the Family Video doors,panting," Someone was fixing my car,I had to run all the way here. And that place was so far from here,I'm just so tired." Nancy flashed Robin a smile," Could we talk?"

Steve gave Nancy a thumbs up and looked through the tapes he had picked. She then led Robin into the back of the store," So I've been worried about college and other stuff,but I haven't been paying attention to what is really bothering me,you."Robin nervously fidgeted with her fingers ," Did I do something to upset you? If so I am so sorry! As you know,I don't understand social ques and I don't have a filter,so whatever I'm thinking just comes out of my mouth like a runaway train. So whatever I said,I did mean,well,in my head,but I didn't mean to say it out loud." Nancy took Robin's hands in her own," No it's not that. I like you,Robin."

Robin smiled uncontrollably,pulling Nancy in by the collar of her shirt and pulling their lips together. Both of them could stay like that for hours,but had to pull away for air. Nancy smiled up at Robin," I loved that." Nancy was the one who pulled them back together. Robin pulled away," What does this mean,for us?"

" Could you be my girlfriend?",Nancy nervously waited for an answer. "Yes."

I took a bit of inspiration from that scene in the car with Steve and Robin,hope you enjoyed this oneshot!
