Stanley Pines from the cartoon Gravity Falls is an old conman and a gunkle (grand uncle) of Mabel and Dipper. He struggles with feelings of inadequacy, always compared to his genius brother and never measuring up. He spent most of his life running. Either chasing his brother’s shadow or running away. He would do anything for family.

Cardinal Thomas Lawrence from the movie Conclave is the dean of the College of Cardinals. He’s responsible for planning the titular conclave and seeing to it that everything goes well and the Pope is chosen well. He wants to step down, but he keeps being forced to take responsibility.

We meet him a month after he already fully crashed out, except he was then told by the late pope he had to put his crash out on hold because his job is more important than he is. Suddenly has his tattered faith partially restored by the arrival of Beautiful Perfect Angel Cardinal McJesusAllegory, except the new guy is too busy insisting Thomas should become pope to notice Thomas’s heart-eyes crush. He DOESN’T WANT YOUR VOTE!!!, which is exactly why he deserves it <3

and suddenly you're 16 again and you're in that diner with your best friend and she laughs at something but you dont know what she's smiling about. you dont understand it yet but you fall a little more in love with her. and suddenly you're moving away and that diner closed down after the pandemic. suddenly you're not 16 anymore. and its too late.

anyway you might be thinking "why are you gonna draw nagireo if youre not even gonna draw nagi properly" and the thing is that reo's gaze is what brings her presence deeper into the piece. her existence is given importance because reo is smiling at her btw. also theres very little detail on most of the restaraunt because its supposed to represent something from nagi's memories and have a sort of dreamlike quality, where only certain parts that you actually remember are in detail and the rest is blank, thats also why the outdoor background is completely blank. for the flowers, i used to really like breathing really hard in the vague direction of dandelions and watch the seeds fly away like little fairies, so i personally associate them with childhood, nostalgia, and the fleeting nature of the past. my mom also used to keep hydrangeas at home when i was a kid, so i associate those with childhood/youth and nostalgia as well
