how had he ended up here again ?

he was barely out of college , had a  criminal record (though nothing more than petty crimes) , and yet he was taking care of his infamous sister's baby.

he sighed , looking down at the redheaded baby once again , he went to brush against the boys' cheeks , brown skin only a few shades lighter than his own.

he'd never wanted children of his own , but he agreed to take care of remy until they were an adult so quickly. maybe it was because he felt bad he'd grow up related to a murderer ?

remy's stirring brought maple syrup back to his senses.

" hey little guy , you readin' my mind ? "

no response other than happy gurgles , remy reached his small hands towards the teal-headed man's face.

" wanna feel what it's like to be tall , huh ? "

maple syrup complied , picking up the red-head and resting him against his toned chest , the toddler relaxed instantly. leaning down onto his chest more as they sucked their thumb.

that's when maple syrup realized something , this baby would grow up with anything but a normal life , as well as being in constant danger thanks to m.s' living conditions.

that's when the man realized why he'd taken up the offer so quickly. while looking at the sleeping babies face , he had an urge to protect them.

if there was anything he could make sure of , it'd be that no harm would ever come to his nephew as long as he was capable of beating-ass.
