Sakamoto days fantasy au where the family runs a shop together. And for each another family member joins, the shop sells more things.

Like, Aoi the merchant starts the shop with her former rogue assassin husband,

Then Shin the Sorcerer joins, and add medicines, potions and maybe fortune telling service to the shop

Lu the Monk(?) joins, and add delicious (maybe spiritual/ healing) food

Heisuke the Archer and Piisuke the Dragon bird hybrid joins adding treats for animal/magical companions

It's frankly terrifying how drawing shin just like stretching for me now...

Helloo, This if the second time I had to type this. So hopefully, it doesn't suddenly just disappeared again.

Here, 5 things I love about myself

1. I love and adore my Headmates/Alters

Quick FYI, just in case someone doesn't know Alters are a dissociated self state that may be associated with either DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) or OSDD (Other Specified Dissociative Disorder) An alter may have different thoughts, perceptions and memories relating to themselves and to the world around them. Think of it like having different people live in your head. It's almost like that, but all of those different people is actually just you but slightly/very different. Headmates is a slang used to refer to ones alter in the system. Basically like the word "Roommates" but you guys live in the same head instead of in the same apartment/house (For anyone asking, yes.. like Uzuki and Slur in Sakadays)

I very very very much love everyone in my system. I see everybody like my own family, and I would do everything I could to keep us safe.

I enjoyed reading and watching Sakadays with Link, Bryce is fun to be around and he had done so much for our survival, Being around Irian is like a warm hug, and Drinking coffee with Tsukasa is just delightful

I just love everybody here, expect nagumo.

He can screw himself to oblivion for all I can care (/j)

2. I love all of the friendships I acquired

I'm very much a friendship person. Befriend me and I will send you my affections so hard you wont even think about putting yourself in a low standard. I love friendship tropes, And seeing friendship in general makes me happy.

And i LOVE my buddies. For if/when they get partners, those partners WILL feel threaten by my love for my buddies (/j) (I will befriend them too)

3. I am proud and love the art skill I have molded

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, and I have enjoyed both making art and seeing art for as long as I can remember too.

It is my goal in life to continue creating as much as I could, and one day inspire someone and give them the same spark I felt other artist had gave me.

4. I love how shameless i am about enjoying life

I love colours, I don't care about following the most popular guy, I like watching/reading things that I am too old for, and its fun not caring about the judgment for it.

As long as its not hurting anyone and it gives joy, what's stopping me? I can dance to the music just because I feel like it, I can wear whatever I want as long as its comfortable, And I can have as many keychains and pin badges as I want on my bag.

5. I love my hands

It's just my hands. A flawed pair of hands. It's clumsy, One of the finger has a bump on it from holding pens and pencils so much, Theres many scars on it that I cant neither remember or say where its from.

I don't even wear nail polish, or have a self care routine for them. It's just MY hands, just the hands that I have used on so many things, the pair of hands that had helped me create and achieve many of my achievements.

A small analysis on the Asakuras

Sorry i had to split it into parts (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ.

After that compilation, we then get to see the defend scene. It's a scene where two scientists are trash talking about asakura's 'imposible' project. And shin putting down his on shoe on the subject, defending asakura's passion like it's his honor.

In the manga, we get another example shin's way of caring. Where he straight up throws a rock at their head and tried to pick a fight with the adults.

Also in the manga, Asakura is STILL unaware of shin's care and investment of the project during this time.

It would take him many years later, to realise that shin care more than what he seemed.

(Shin had even grown to care about it more so, than asakura does)

(While shin is proud with how far his esp skills has developed, asakura cares more about how shin has grown ｡⁠:ﾟ⁠(⁠;⁠´⁠∩⁠`⁠;⁠)ﾟ⁠:⁠｡ )

Meanwhile in the anime, shin instead scolds the two scientists. Telling them off about how hard asakura is working to make everybody super happy.

And unlike the manga, asakura actually notices this.

He is actually aware about how much shin cares about his project.

He's aware enough that when he finally achieved it, he immediately went to shin for his accomplishment. (Not realising the sleepy child accidentally drank the thing)

After that, the events of the esp discovery and stuff after that are very much identical.

But i do want to point out that the anime completely cuts off the "Maybe I'll take on gardening!" thought from the isolation scene.

That single cut, forms a scene of where shin discovered that everybody in the lab is thinking about how much they don't like his esp all at once, to a scene where shin is slowly taking in all of the discomfort and dislike of his esp one by one into a conclusion.

And that's the end of my rant!!

The difference in dialogues between the anime (Episode 8) and the manga (Chapter 23) and why it matters.

A small analysis on the Asakuras

Let me start this with a disclaimer, this is NOT a rant about how the manga is better than the anime and otherwise. You will not find something like that here, i love and adore both the anime and the manga of Sakamoto days.

This is simply an analysis of a dialogue change that i noticed and wanted to point out about and how it affects the story. Because i think it's fascinating, and i very much care about this.

The Sakamoto days anime pretty much followed the manga pretty closely, just cutting off a few things to make it shorter and fit into the +- 20 minutes each episodes hold. A few example of this is the mysterious heroes storyline and how long shin has been with the sakamotos before they met lu.

Another one of the change that they made is in the Asakura & Shin backstory.

The story starts with asakura wondering to himself about how had he been left in this situation of babysitting a child. And a small compilation showcasing of his basically being a single parent to shin.

In the anime, story starts the same way. But it skipped immediately to what i call the passion project scene.

The passion project scene, is the scene of where shin asks asakura on what is he doing, and for asakura to tell him of his ongoing project to uncover "super powers".

Of course as a curious child, shin asks "Is it fun?" (This is also a reference to the first chapter & episode of a curious child asking shin on if the job he's doing is fun)

Now this is where the different dialogue is most prevalent,

In the manga, Asakura's reason is "It's cool to be the first person to do something". Presenting how passionate and proud he is to being an inventor and to this project.

Shin doesn't really get it, but of course he is still really curious on how it will turn out and now is slightly invested in the project.

Meanwhile in the anime, Asakura's answers are "If i figure it out, it might be able to unlock incredible potential to humankind." and "I might be able to make everybody super happy." Presenting him as someone who is passionately working for the better of human beings.

That resulted in shin admiring him. (He's so cuteee siahaiabsj)

After that scene, the manga then showed another compilation (now in shin's perspective) of shin showing his way of caring about asakura's passion by just exiting around him, but not bothering asakura in his work.

Meanwhile, the anime decided to mix both of these compilation in one. More presenting it of how shin and asakura live and exist around eachother.

To me, putting it together after the passion project scene. Paints it to almost be like, after struggling to understand eachother for so long, they have finally found a balance of respecting and caring for eachother in their own way after that conversation.

Which is sweet in it's own way.

A bit of a small story about the process of making this,

My first plan was to actually draw the whole main cast (Every Sakamoto employee + Hana, Heisuke,& Piisuke) But that has to be unfortunately cancelled because of the close deadline i gave myself (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ

I will probably go back to these concepts tho, they're really cute (And because i can't stop drawing and writing shin in found family scenarios (⁠´⁠ε⁠｀⁠ ⁠) )

I've only noticed it after drawing him and staring at my references for so long.. Are we supposed to believe that his entire mustache fell off after the exercises?? and also his hair tie suddenly couldn't hold onto his long bangs too, post rapid weight lost (Would've been more believable if only his hair bun aren't tied so tightly 🙃)

Some of the biggest sakadays mysteries so far (at least for me):

- Why do tarou immediately looks 10 years younger every time he went through rapid weight loss (basically this topic)

- How are they calling all of those huge attacks non lethal? and are we sure that those nameless/ not plot important characters are still alive??

-Why do the lab scientist still looks the same as they were 12 years ago?? (Ik this is a thing, where almost all flashback characters would still look the same as the present.. but c'mon man..) It's kind of funny to see these characters who looks about shins age, to treat shin like the kid they haven't seen in years

- Hana being supposedly 5-6 when chapter 1 happened, when tarou has only been retired for 5 years by then

-The whole timeline of things is just a whole headache on itself...

Sakamoto Days is by far my fave anime rn... but do they really want me to believe that he just loses his mustache every time he rapidly looses weight?

I was thinking about Shinichi today. Do you know how loved you are? Your parents love you but they are not qualified to be parents. Have you ever known what true parental love feels like? Has anyone ever looked at you and thought that I need to protect this child and make him happy and feel loved? Ironically, it was Ran who did that. Ran – who is so kind that despite her very obvious physical strength, kindness is her best suit – looked at Conan, a child who is not with his parents and needs to be cared for.

The dichotomies of Shinichi and Conan baffle me. Shinichi's parents left when he was barely a teenager. They weren't deadbeat but they just were not there. Shinichi doesn't know what it feels like to come home and hug your mother who has been waiting for you to be back. He doesn't know what it feels like or more like he doesn't remember, when you hug your parents willingly after a long day and just want to be that little kid who was safe in his parents' arms.

He gets to do that with Ran. Kogoro, for all his faults, tries to make sure that Conan is not exposed to violence and bloody murders if he can help it. I won't forget that yes, Kogoro does hit Conan on the head but to me that seems more of an old anime thing where they used that as a comedic device. He does care about the child. Yes, I also know that he gets money from the Kudos to take care of Conan but I will not consider that here.

Shinichi never had any true friends except for Ran who brought Sonoko along with her. He had teammates and classmates. But no friends. If not for Ran, how would the younger Shinichi who was left behind his parents survive? Shinichi is incredibly mature for his age but that doesn't mean that he is not a child. He still needs to be loved and cared for.

In canon, it was shown that Ran helped Shinichi to clean the house and cook him some meals. It makes me wonder if Shinichi knows how to cook enough to survive. He may know how to kill someone with a toothpick, but can he survive on his own?

Does Shinichi sometimes stare at the ceiling and think how Conan has a better life at 7 than Shinichi had at 17? Conan doesn't have fans writing him letters but he has friends that visit him when he is sick or the care enough to meddle in his life. Conan doesn't live in a mansion but he lives in a home where he gets to eat dinner at a table where it is just not him and the lonely mansion.

Will he miss the chaos of the Mouri house when gets his old back? Will he be able to eat his meal in silence without Kogoro's rambling and Ran's nagging? Will he even remember to eat breakfast or lunch? Will he miss Kogoro's snoring when he finally gets to sleep in silence? Will Shinichi miss feeling pampered by someone older than him?

Does Shinichi know that he is loved as Conan not because he is Conan but because he is himself? Conan may be a lie but he is still Shinichi inside. The body may be Conan's but the mind and the decisions are of Shinichi. Your friends love you because you are you. Not because you are Conan or Shinichi. Your allies trust you because of your intellect which has always been Shinichi's. You may not know it but you are loved. You were thrown off an airship and your rival whom you swore to catch one day jumps off just catch you and save you. He has no reason to do it. My child, you are so loved. The amount of people do not matter. You are loved. That is what matters.
