“Innie?” You whispered, shutting the door gently. He looked up from his phone and smiled. His hair was disheveled and his face was bright red.

“What happened?” You rushed over, wiping his face gently.

“Nothing,” he batted your hands off him, and used his sleeve to clean his face off.

“…It was something the fans said, wasn’t it?” You whispered.

He nodded slightly. “I don’t get why you still love me, when there’s so much wrong with me, and you’re so… perfect,”

“Hey,” you interrupted, putting your hand on his shoulder. “Don’t say that, okay? I’m the lucky one here, being able to date you.”

He shook his head. “Of course I am, everything is so… wrong about me,” he whispered.

You sighed gently. “Nothing is wrong with you, darling. You’re perfect, it’s just that some people can’t stand to see others more successful then them.”

He smiled slightly, only to look back down. “But you don’t get it, the way they look at you and the only thing that comes out is line after line of insults, the way pick you apart.”

“I know,” you whispered. “But I get the hate that comes from yourself. Day after day of waking up and looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing nothing but a failure.”

He looked up at you, tracing your hand slowly with his thumb.

This wasn’t going anywhere, and you knew that, so you tried a different approach.

“Do you want to hear something?” You murmured, stroking his hair. He seemed slightly hesitant, before nodding his head slowly.

“Did you know that butterflies can never see their wings? They never know their true beauty,” you smiled, before taking his hand and holding it against your chest. “You, my butterfly, are beautiful.”

It took a few seconds before he realized what you were saying. He looked at you straight in the eyes, admiring the way your heart thumped against his hand.

“Thank you,” he smiled finally, removing his hand from your chest, and you smiled back.
