Sns haters trying to decide if Kishimoto wrote "Queerbait" (which implies there are queer subtexts there, why would he write two 'brothers' with queer themes? Weird) or "He wrote them gay accidentally because of misogyny" (which makes me wonder, where does misogyny affect SNS relationships, or does it happen that for a female character to be well written means that her romance should have had more focus on the relationship between the SNS? Does Sakura having better character writing make Sasuke and Naruto care less about each other? Or do they just want her or Hinata to be brought in the middle because they know they're not that important to sns relationship🤔)

queerbaiting is a marketing strategy, narusasu is quite the opposite of it, since the target audience (dudebros) don’t really fuck with their faves being gay. but yeah, saying they are queerbaiting is at least admitting something isn’t quite friendly or brotherly about them so 🤡

i have talked about this “so misogynistic it makes them gay” many times before. no, misogynistic writing don’t make characters look gay, liking men, gay subtext and all the other resources do. making sakura more considerate, relevant won’t make sasuke magically love her unless you write that differently, and writing her better surely doesn’t change what naruto and sasuke feel for each other. i know people think they sound woke, but they just sound homophobic, men are gay because they are attracted to men, not because they aren’t attracted to women.

i don’t know if you are familiar with dandadan, but people use dandadan as proof of how m/f romance in shonen can be good if the female character is well written. actually, the m/f romance in dandadan is good because the characters are written to be in love with each other. momo (the female main character) is truly well written and she’s in love with okarun, and okarun is in love with her. but so are other girls “in love” with okarun, and they are also definitely well written, but their romance with okarun is good? no, because okarun isn’t interested in them, he doesn’t have chemistry with them, he’s in love with momo. writing good female characters won’t automatically give you chemistry and romance, you have to actually write the chemistry and romance in order to make the audience feel that.

sp completely missed the point of vote2. vote2 was a ‘battle’ between naruto and sasuke only, yet for some reason sp tried to bring outsiders into it. and they also took liberties and made other changes too.

in the manga sasuke screams as he punches naruto. it’s a callback to vote1 - “can you kill me calmly sasuke?” because sasuke can’t kill naruto calmly. it’s also sasuke taking out his hatred on naruto (kage summit arc callback) as naruto lets sasuke take his anger out on him. but for some reason sp took the decision to silence sasuke during the anime version of this scene.

sp made a show of naruto dropping his leaf headband and seeing his eyes reflected in metal alongside sasuke’s chidori, when in the manga we don’t even see when naruto loses the headband. the anime even made a show of naruto putting the headband back in his pocket (wow… all the symbolism here). but in the manga naruto keeps constant eye contact with sasuke with the narrator saying 'there’s no escaping those eyes’. 

again, vote2 is naruto and sasuke, not naruto and sasuke and everyone else. all those additions to naruto and sasuke’s rasengan and chidroi were for what exactly? kishimoto even put kurama asleep inside naruto because their emotional heart to heart in 698 was just between THEM. 

in the anime naruto lamented the fact that he broke the promise to tsunade, saying how he wouldn’t die before he became hokage. but again this did not happen in the manga. it was reiterated by naruto throughout the series that sasuke was more of a priority than becoming hokage, to the point that during the kage summit arc naruto looked relieved and happy at the prospect of dying together with sasuke.

in the manga sasuke never referred to naruto as a brother in any capacity, yet for some reason sp thought it prudent for sasuke to say this, even though from vote1 sasuke knew it was nothing like that from the start?

maybe it’s sp that doesn’t get it… or maybe they do and that’s the problem.

so I think this scene can be interpreted in a few ways actually… but from the way I see it (and I’ll give sp the benefit of the doubt here), it shows how after everything there is still a sasuke-shaped space next to naruto - the camera zooms in on them together, it’s this that affects sasuke. but this scene still rubs me the wrong way because of the way it’s set up and the implication of sasuke being affected by joining in with all the other konoha pals. it’s been made clear many many times that, after everything, it’s only naruto that matters to sasuke to the point that he needs to kill him to be truly alone. no one else factors in here. sasuke also doesn’t care what everyone else thinks. and even for naruto, the fact of the matter is, even with all those konoha pals standing behind him, it’s only sasuke that would make naruto turn his back on everything. putting sasuke on the same level as everyone else doesn’t sit right. they even put tobirama in there…

sp completely dropped the ball on this. vote2 was the promised fight from the kage summit arc - “if we die you won’t be an uchiha and I won’t be a jinchuuriki - we’ll meet again in the afterlife”. vote2 was literally them on the brink of death trying to understand each other, too beat up to even move their bodies… all they could do was talk. kurama was asleep, there were no leaf headbands in sight, sasuke had his sharingan off, etc, cuz even if at that moment they were still uchiha and jinchuuriki, kishimoto stripped them as bare as much as he could as they finally faced their feelings and reconciled… a happier version of the outcome predicted by naruto at the kage summit arc, but close to it, dangling on the edge. nothing else mattered except naruto and sasuke.

and then afterwards sp really showed sasuke in prison, restrained in every possible way even though this never happened in the manga. the cherry on top.

the reason "robot racism" is often a really stupid metaphor is the same reason that like. discrimination against demons or vampires or whatever doesn't work, is because there's often a pretty justified reasons humans are scared of vampires or robots or whatever, in a way that doesn't apply to real life minorities, like a fantasy author will be like "the reason vampires are discriminated against is because most of them and kill and eat people for fun and pleasure, and so humans respond by trying to kill them, isn't that so sad" and like no that's a perfectly fine reason to not trust vampires i think.

Everything Kakashi said about Sakura, Naruto also did the same for Sasuke. Kakashi saying this to guilt trip Sasuke. When Kakashi told him this, his reaction to it was:

But when it comes to Naruto he really wants to know the meaning behind his words. When Naruto said that whenever Sasuke carrying burden on his back and hurting himself or suffering himself, Naruto felt his pain too.... It hurt him so much inside that he couldn't just ignore it and leave him alone. This confession from Naruto shocked Sasuke and he burst into tears.

He cried because he truly felt that the person he loved also loved him. And the intensity of Naruto's love for him despite trying to hurt him so many times. Even though Naruto suffered a lot, he never tried to push Sasuke away, instead he came closer and closer to him and was willing to suffer even more. He's aware of how very much Naruto love him and that he would do ANYTHING For him....and willing to carry all of his burdens, all of his pain. He will fight for him, die for him, and never let him be alone because he is always with him and always there for him. That's why Sasuke shed tears of joy for the first time!!!

Naruto was extremely scared to fight back these ninjas before leaving for the Land of the Waves...

This is the first time Naruto has seen Sasuke's abilities outside of the academy and Sasuke's fighting skills against an enemy. Seeing this…Naruto was expressing his amazement or admiration towards him. [スゲェ = sugee = awesome; wow; impressive; incredible; great; excellent]. It's a fact that Naruto always admired and respected Sasuke's physical strength.

Naruto admired the way Sasuke used his abilities to protect him without even getting a speck of dust [汚れ(yogore) =dirt; stain; dust] on his clothes. And he clearly felt the difference between Sasuke's attitude and his own.

Sasuke protects Naruto from the enemy ninjas without restraint and teases him on top of that. This hurts Naruto because he hates being different from Sasuke i.e being Weak.... and this solidifies his resolve to be brave.

Since Naruto was poisoned, and that Tazuna lied about the mission type, the only logical thing to do was to return to the village and seek treatment for Naruto, which would cause Naruto to abandon an unexpected B-rank mission that he did everything he could in order to achieve it. He became the center of talk of abandoning the mission as he failed to respond in the fight and was injured.

Right after that, Naruto stabbed a kunai into his wrist… Sasuke was stunned to see this.

And his frustration was explained by Naruto himself...

But despite having a physical discomfort, Naruto was determined on continuing the mission. The act of not giving up.

Because of this act, Sasuke did this:

He ended up walking next to him. This scene & the kunai scene also ended up in Sasuke's treasured memories. But at this moment, Naruto doesn't feel Equal. Sasuke wanted to walk next to Naruto and become close to him, while Naruto felt like a loser because Sasuke saved him right before this scene. That's why Naruto was behaving like this because he was extremely frustrated at not being able to catch up to Sasuke.

And when the situation came up again… Naruto was trying to run away… again.

But then remembered the promise he made on the pain in his left hand. The promise he made to himself about not losing to Sasuke. That's when he decided to fight back.

Sasuke was the one who taught Naruto to not Run away... And...Not to mention, Naruto's entire Physical Strength was always revolved around Sasuke in some ways...

It's always about he wanted to catch up to Sasuke rather than surpass him. Even though they were united by loneliness, Naruto hates being different from Sasuke. Maybe he thought something like: "If I can be equal with Sasuke, I can be like him....then we can actually be true friends and hang out with him as equals..."

He made him his Rival, because he was frustrated that they are different. He trained harder to become his equal. But even after they were put together in Team 7, this feeling of difference hasn't changed. But In reality, he always wanted to be like him.

Hashirama/Madara and Naruto/Sasuke are the only pairings to awaken or evolve Sharingan when trying to break their bonds with each other. 

Madara had 4 brothers and lost 3 but still couldn’t awaken his Sharingan but when trying to break his bond with Hashirama, his eyes were brimming red. He didn't awaken when he lost his siblings his own blood brothers, but when it came to a boy he met for a few days, his eyes responded.

Don't forget that Sasuke didn't want to kill Naruto. It wasn't on his mind when he left Konoha, but after Naruto willingly fought Sasuke... so he chose to 'kill his closest friend' to gain power.

Sasuke believed Itachi's words about killing a closest friend to obtain Mangekyou Sharingan. So, Sasuke knew that killing Naruto would eventually get him MS.

Because of Kyuubi's healing powers, Naruto didn't die with that hit. But no matter what Naruto never give up on him. So...Sasuke asks Naruto why he is doing all this? What makes him go so far for him?

To which Naruto said,

Naruto tells his reason, and look how shocked Sasuke is and how much Naruto's words affected him. He recalls their most precious interaction at Lake Pier.... that was the time the two of them connected. That's when they formed a 'bond'. Then Sasuke closed his eyes and determines to cut his bond with Naruto.

After that, Sasuke's motive behind killing Naruto is to sever the bond he had with him.

Sasuke awakens his third Tomoe due to the emotional turmoil caused by Naruto's words and his sadness at having to sever his bond with Naruto forever. Looking at Naruto at the thought that he was going to cut ties with him.... All that pain was reflected in his eyes.

But...In the end he couldn’t do it....... Sasuke doesn't want to follow in Itachi's footsteps to gain the Mangekyo Sharingan. That's why, he willingly went to Orochimaru's layer to gain power without killing his closest friend. He chose the pain from the curse seal to gain power over the pain of losing Naruto. cuz it is less painful [link]

差し違える= kill each other/stabbing each other (or try to assasinate)　→　get fight back　→　both dead.

差し違える - It was originally used when a samurai charges towards an opponent with a sword or short sword. In such a case, you may be able to kill the other person, but there is a high possibility that the other person will also be able to kill you at the same time. It shows the determination that it doesn't matter. This is also a desperate strategy/tactic.

差し (sashi) not only means two people facing each other, but also ``present'' and ``send back''. It is used with verbs to emphasize the meaning or adjust the tone, such as in ``replace.''

刺し is a continuous form of 刺す. It is mainly used to mean to pierce something with a sharp point.

Even though he knew that if he had a fight with one of the Sannin, he would probably lose, but he felt the need to protect Sasuke from Orochimaru

Often, small sweat drops are drawn on the cheek of characters to make their expression appears more tense than normal. The more sweat drops there are, the stronger the anxiety or nervous.

Kakashi was initially confident in facing Orochimaru, but his confidence changed when Orochimaru released his killer intent.... it was enough to scare Kakashi

In 482, Sasuke was about to finish the job to kill his teammate karin when Sakura suddenly appears. In which case, Sasuke is already suspicious of her motives.

At first, Sakura lied about betraying Konoha. Second, she lied about joining Sasuke even though she was there to kill him. Third, she doesn't really care what Sasuke really wants and why he's doing this.

Her first remark about Sasuke is "He's completely changed"...well, yes...he's changed...but has she ever tried to figure out why he's changed???

She must have been in a hurry to get rid of Sasuke before others got rid of him first. [Sakura chose a sleeping gas bomb to put Kiba, Lee, and the others to sleep, and she left them there without even make sure that they were safe and not exposed to enemies. But...Kakashi was the one who carries Kiba and the others to a safe place]

Sasuke says, "Try to finish off Karin," and she quietly approaches Karin with a kunai to "stab Sasuke."

He saw through her lies and only see her as a "hated enemy of Konoha" now... rather than a former Team mate. He didn't even warn her but instead goes behind her back and wanted to finish her off. Sakura's eyes widened with shock and couldn't even run away (even though medical ninjas are supposed to be trained to avoid enemy attacks). I guess she never expected Sasuke to do something like that. It was Kakashi who was able to stop it just in the nick of time.

Even though she was told to stay out of the way, Sakura appeared again with a kunai in hand...but she fails to stab Sasuke. Twice.

Kakashi, who has decided to confront Sasuke, orders Naruto and Sakura to leave the place. Kakashi then interrupted Sakura's words... "Sasuke won't die from the poisoned kunai you learned from Shizune... He still has orochimaru's poison resistance..."

Specifically, he tells Sakura the realistic facts: "Sasuke won't die from your poison kunai. That poison won't work on Sasuke, so it's useless"

The fact that Sakura, a medical ninja, tried to kill Sasuke with a kunai...means it's easy to determine that the kunai was a poisoned kunai. "Poison" is a typical choice for a medical ninja. so the fact that Sakura chose "poison" is also evidence that she was "seriously thinking about getting rid of Sasuke."

In chapter 311, Sakura, who came to visit Kakashi at Konoha Hospital, said to him,

In general, even Kakashi knew that "Sasuke was resistant to poison," but... all of a sudden, she forgot all the facts she remembers and decided to kill Sasuke with just a Poisoned Kunai.

So Sakura's attempt to kill him would have been futile whether she stabbed him or not. Instead of bothering to find out why Sasuke suddenly acted like that, she concocts this plan where she lies about liking Naruto to get him to stop chasing Sasuke. She then drugs her comrades and leaves them unconscious in the forest and tries to stab Sasuke not once but twice with her poisoned kunai. Again, she fails to even come close to her own goals that she has set for herself. She constantly making a fool out of herself, crying pathetically and needing to be rescued. And She heard Naruto talking to Sasuke that Tobi had told him about "the truth about Itachi" and heard Sasuke ranting about how Konoha was responsible for his misery, but she never bothered to ask anyone about it.

In chapter 693, When Sasuke tells Naruto to come with him, we sees this angry look on her face and starts screaming about her feelings. However what's important to notice is this highlighted part when she is having this meltdown :

寄りそうことも刺し違えることもできずに...

yorisō koto mo sashichigaeru koto mo dekizu ni...

I can't get close to you or stab at each other...

I think she clearly referring to Naruto. Naruto is the only one who gets through to Sasuke, close to him, and he even said during the 5 Kage Summit that he'd bear the burden of Sasuke's hatred and they'd die together [double-suicide]. And Sakura is clearly upset. Sakura is also very telling of her jealousy of Naruto and Sasuke's bond. She knows Naruto can do things for Sasuke and get a reaction out of him, but she can't. Only Naruto could do these two things, not her. All this time all she could do was cry and beg.

Then Kakashi says that Sakura still loves him despite Sasuke trying to kill her, while conveniently omitting the fact that Sakura went there to kill Sasuke. Kakashi, who not only admits to not understand Sasuke, but he also clearly doesn't understand Sakura either. And She doesn't understand Sasuke either.

Naruto's world is patriarchal. They have child soldiers, feudal lords, genocides, endless wars AND patriarchy.

The majority of women in Naruto's universe conforms to patriarchal standards because they live in patriarchal society. Patriarchal society influences women to con­form.

The fact that there's less kunoichis than male ninjas, that they are being taught "flower arrangements" in the academy and that majority of them ends up as housewives later in life isn't some outrageous bad writing, if it just makes sense to happen in a highly patriarchal setting of the world.
