The Eye-Opening Experience of Nutrition & Exercise
I’m just going to say it, treat your body like a temple and your mental and physical health will improve. This is something I have been experimenting with over the last few months. Not only have I been eating regular, healthy meals but I have also been much more active - I swear to you, this week I have not been as well behaved and I can tell the difference. My energy levels have dipped, my mood is lower, my body feels less “fidgety”.
The reason I decided to do this was that I was diagnosed with a “hiatus hernia” and I had severe anxiety. A “hiatus hernia” is essentially when your stomach is being pushed back up into your esophagus, and as a result, your stomach acid burns the bottom of your esophagus. It was incredibly painful and occasionally I would have to take time off work which would result in worse anxiety.
My friend, Alice, is a personal trainer and she took me under her wing, taught me about food, drinks, exercise and really got me going. I never thought I would be the type of person to get up in the morning and go to the gym, but I did it. It was awesome. Alice also drummed into me the importance of recognising those negative words like “skinny” and how all of these ridiculous myths like “protein makes you fat”, “weights make you have muscles and it’s not attractive for a woman to have muscles” are total madness. Never ever let someone villainise something that makes you feel good and yes that INCLUDES a glass of wine or a bar of chocolate. Creating that balance is so important and making yourself miserable and restricting yourself to absolutely none of it, is just silly. Just remember to treat yourself but live by a healthy lifestyle that makes you feel good about yourself. I didn’t lose much weight in the last couple of months but even now, I don’t care anymore because I FEEL great and I am actually very slowly losing the weight. I’ve stopped weighing myself obsessively and I’m just listening to my body.
YOU can do it as well, don’t use the same excuses - I work silly hours and I still got it all in. In fact, I’m more focused at my work and therefore more productive.
Guess what? I’m also off the medication for my anxiety because I don’t need it anymore. Try it for a month and just see how you go...
Alice can help you and she will help you, believe me, she’s incredible.

We all have those days, even Winnie the Pooh!
Tumblr media
"Piglet?" said Pooh.
"Yes Pooh?" said Piglet.
"Do you ever have days when everything feels... Not Very Okay At All? And sometimes you don't even know why you feel Not Very Okay At All, you just know that you do."
Piglet nodded his head sagely. "Oh yes," said Piglet. "I definitely have those days."
"Really?" said Pooh in surprise. "I would never have thought that. You always seem so happy and like you have got everything in life all sorted out."
"Ah," said Piglet. "Well here's the thing. There are two things that you need to know, Pooh. The first thing is that even those pigs, and bears, and people, who seem to have got everything in life all sorted out... they probably haven't. Actually, everyone has days when they feel Not Very Okay At All. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
"And the second thing you need to know... is that it's okay to feel Not Very Okay At All. It can be quite normal, in fact. And all you need to do, on those days when you feel Not Very Okay At All, is come and find me, and tell me. Don't ever feel like you have to hide the fact you're feeling Not Very Okay At All. Always come and tell me. Because I will always be there."

All of us make mistakes. The key is to acknowledge them, learn, and move on. The real sin is ignoring mistakes, or worse, seeking to hide them.
