An Angry Past - Pt. 5
As the rays extended over the horizon, birds began to chirp and the day began, a cold breeze was blowing from the south. The breeze of the morning wasn’t violent, harsh or bitter; the breeze just left a feeling of uncertainty. Goosebumps formed across your arms, despite the warm rays of the sun across your skin. Everyone was beginning to bustle about preparing for the move tomorrow - a new land was found, suitable for crops, open fields, and many animals in the area - the tribe has not seemed this carefree and alive for some time. Although people seemed to be at ease, you were unable to shake your uncertainty. Everything was falling into place so easily, and you couldn’t escape a nagging feeling of despair; despair at the aches Aki still felt, the fear in your sons’ eyes that night, and the unnerving feeling of being watched. Normally being able to blend into the shadows and disappear into crowds without a thought; it was now odd that you felt this vulnerable out in the open. Having walked to the edge of the forest - no further than six hundred meters from camp - you turned to face home. No one in the tribe was looking in your direction. No one was calling your name. Nothing had seemingly changed. A gust of wind forcing your face north made your body screen, you wanted to run. As your eyes scanned the tree line, nothing was odd. The trees swayed, leaves fell, and everything appeared as it always was. Something deep within you couldn’t shake your fear. Something was driving your senses into overdrive. Something was telling you to run. Then it hit you, the silence of the North Forest.
Walking through the tribe the fears had subsided, but fear was lingering in your soul. The cold hands, cracked and weathered hands squeezing at your lungs. You had stood frozen for some time, watching. Reluctantly you had come home, but you couldn’t understand why that fear had overtaken you so abruptly. Although the feeling lingered you did not feel eyes burning your skin, so surrounded by people you felt more invisible than your time alone near the forest's edge.
The day progressed, the sun began to set, and people had packed their lives into wagons. It was odd to see how your lives here had suddenly seemingly disappeared; although, the faint remnants of you remained and your shelters remained up for the night, the land seemed untouched. A large fire roared at the centre of your shelters. The breeze had grown harsher as the day progressed. People were settling in with family and friends around the blazing heat. Elders that remained were telling young children stories. Couples cuddling as the sun grew colder. As the light withdrew over the horizon, you were drawn back to the outskirts, the North Forest seemed to stand still. Your legs froze before you could leave the edge of camp, but the feeling of eyes returned. Eyes watching you, waiting to see your next move. You knew you were irrational. Nothing about it made sense. No one was watching. Persistent, the feeling remained. Earlier you had realized what had unerved you, the silence. You had come back to confirm.. the wildlife of the North side seemed to have vanished. No birds singing in the sky; no squirrels running through the trees. It was abnormal.
Silence was not what the forest offered if you sat and listened quietly enough. The forest had its own voice, loud and boisterous. The forest's voice was a flowing creek, crunching leaves, birds singing, an elk calling to its young, but this silence. It felt as if the forest had died.
A young and excited voice pulled you from your thoughts. “Mama! Mama!” You looked over your shoulder to see Zach kicking his legs excitedly from Aki’s broad shoulders. He was the sun. As they approached the worry of the forest's voice nestled in the back of your mind as the sun rose again. Even with night enveloping the sky, you never felt so warm under Zachs rays.
Climbing down his father, Zach rambled endlessly and incoherently. He spoke at such a rate not even the most attentive could keep up. “My sun, please slow down!”
Excitedly jumping at your feet he began again, “Mama! You have to come! Please come! It’s starting soon!” Zach began to grab at your hands and pull you into the camp.
Giggling, you had no choice but to follow the young boy. You looked to your husband for help or clarification, but he only shrugged and walked in stride with you.

Hi Everyone! I'm back and getting back into my writings. I have missed it and hope to revitalize old stories that have remained unfinished. The Angry Past posts will be flowing in. I have gotten over the hump I was stuck on for a while there. Hopefully you like the two new additions and more to come. Don't worry Paul will be coming soon if that's what you all are waiting for. Sorry about the long setup, but I've fallen in love with the little family I have been writing for you and hope you are too.

An Angry Past - Pt. 4
Watching your friends and now family pack up to leave was difficult, especially when it came time to hug Leah goodbye, “Please be careful.”
“You know I will be. I’m more worried about leaving you here with an injured Aki and taking Liam with me. I can’t help but have a sinking feeling leaving. I hate saying goodbye.”
“Don’t think of it as a goodbye then. I will see you when Aki is able to travel, which should not be for much longer. Go my friend it will give me peace of mind knowing that you all are safe. Plus we have two other strong warriors staying back to protect us for now. I will see you soon.” Embracing your friend you tried to put her mind and heart at ease, but nothing had ever felt this final before; although you had tried to not think of this as a goodbye, there was a very somber feeling between you both.
Aki was slowly regaining his strength and taking light assisted walks around what remained of your settlement. He still refused to share with you what had caused his injuries, you had witnessed many hushed conversations between him and the other warriors that remained. What concerned you the most was his unease even during calm moments of the days and nights; it seemed like his eyes would never leave the tree line.
Walking into the small teepee your family occupied Zach was watching the fire with a little scowl on his face. It seems Aki had not returned from his talk with the elders yet. Walking over to the small scornful boy, you placed your body down hard next to him with a dramatic huff. Not receiving a giggle or even a glance you began to worry, “What’s the matter my love? What has you upset?”
Forehead crinkled and lips held in a tight scowl he looks up into your eyes, “Mama, I’ll protect you.”
Surprise was all you could feel, you hadn’t expected such a determined statement to come from his little mouth. Nearing four he was very determined in his ways about very little, but this seemed to be a very thorough statement for such a little boy. “I appreciate it, but you do know as your mama it is my job to protect you my dear.”
Pulling himself up he turned to face you, his little head only slightly over your own as you sat. He placed his hands on his hips and scowled an adorably serious scowl. “But Mama! I am gonna grow up to be a big strong wolf like Papa and I can protect you from the cold ones coming!” A cold sense of dread spread across your spine as he spoke, “I’ve got to practice now and maybe I will get my wolf soon!”
Grabbing his arms by the sides you looked into his eyes deeply, they were so full of resolve it saddened you, “My love, no matter how big and strong you grow, I am your mother and I will forever protect you. Nothing, not even death can keep me from protecting you. Now what makes you say the cold ones are coming, Zachary?”
“I heard Papa and the elders talking. He said that there were so many Mama! Not only the cold ones Mama, but also the settlers are with them! More than the pack could handle, so I have to get big and strong to protect you!” His face grew sad and his big brown eyes glossed over. His voice came out barely a whisper, “I don’t want you to get hurt too.”
“Oh baby don’t you worry about me my Love, I will always be here with you. Your Papa and the tribe will take care of everyone. We are family, and family protects each other.” You pull Zach into your arms and cradle his body against your own as his tears fall. You hadn’t realized how much he had been understanding, he was witnessing so many horrors lately and you couldn’t protect his innocence from everything around. His words had left a deep dread. As you rocked him to sleep you made a silent promise that no matter what happened you would protect Zach even if it meant your life.
The next morning you detached from a sleeping Zachary, in your sleep haze you realized Aki had not returned in the night. Silently you left the teepee and emerged into the brisk morning air, the sun just breaking the horizon. Aki was at a distance watching the treeline intently. His face looked tired, hair in a matted mess, and his body wrapped head to toe in an assortment of bandages. You silently went to retrieve the necessary equipment to try and take what care of him you could.
Approaching Aki you could see the worry and restlessness in his features; bags had begun to form under his eyes in deep cavities, his eyes were red and his lip bitten raw. Even as you approached he did not take notice of you. You had always had the ability to go unnoticed when approaching others, you did not intend to ‘sneak up’, but you just did. Your ability to go unnoticed without even trying was something Aki could not understand. He was always so alert and capable. Aki jumped a little at your touch, but quickly relaxed and his features dropped into calm as his body seemed to gravitate to your own. He didn’t turn to face you, but his voice came out deep and hoarse, “Why are you awake so early?”
The sound of his voice was soothing, but it was not him, it was the shell of unease and worry he had been becoming. “I haven’t been able to sleep in ever my Love. I tend to get up with the warmth of the sun. I brought some things out to fix you up my dear.” A small woven basket rested on your hip, it contained a brush, fresh bandages, ointment and a blanket. “Now. Sit while I clean you up my dear.”
Silently you sat him on the blanket and began to work gently on his matted hair. All while he could still not seem to take his eyes off the tree line ahead.
After some time you were slowly applying the bandages back to his wounds. They were healing well, but without proper rest his healing would be substantially delayed and you worried he may even regress in his healing, “Aki?”
Finally turning to face you, the creases in his brow were deep and made the age in his face appear far greater than he was, “Yes my dear?”
Stroking his hair you bring him in for a soft kiss. He sighs as you pull away and his face smooths over. “Come lay down my dear, rest.”
“I can’t.” His voice cracks and emotion wells up, he refuses to show it on his face though, “I can’t move from this spot. I keep seeing this vision of something coming to get you and Zach and I always feel so unprepared. I feel like if I move and something happens to you.. I couldn’t bare it.”
Sighing, you gently run your fingers through his hair. “If you can not leave this spot, then you will sleep right here.”
“My love I have to watch for threats.”
“Yes, but you can’t possibly use your eyes forever. You need to rest or you are no help to anyone. I will sit here and watch. I will help you protect all of us. I will protect you and Zach, even if it’s just by keeping watch so you can rest.”
“But what if something happens?” Aki tries to rise, but you hold firm on his arm.
Feeling the most useful you have in days you hold firm, “My love my eyes work. You will sleep right here on my lap and if I think I see anything. No matter how insignificant it might appear, I will wake you up.”
Sighing deeply Aki reluctantly gives in, “Ok, but if you even have a feeling you must wake me. I am serious.”
“I know my love. Now, please lay down. I will protect in your place. Let me care for you.” Slowly Aki lays his tired body on the soft ground. In time he drifts off and you stay in your post. Many worries and fears plague your mind, but nothing matters more than using your eyes in Aki’s place. As he rests and you absently run your hands through his hair, you unfortunately don’t have the senses or capabilities to sense the danger looming at a distance. A monster that doesn’t require sleep watches you and the warrior. The monster has been watching for quite some time, but due to Aki’s weakened state and exhaustion he was not able to sense him at the distance he watches from.

An Angry Past - Pt. 3
All you can do is wait, watch, rebandage… Wait, watch, rebandage… Wait, watch, rebandage. Aki’s breaths are coming uneven and rapid. All you can do is watch as he whimpers in distress in his sleep. Everyone in the tribe was gathered outside your hut, waiting, listening, pleading. The hero of the tribe was wounded beyond anything anyone has ever seen before. You watched as your husband's breaths came in and out laboured. Gingerly you ran your fingers tenderly through his hair. Your son lay in the corner sleeping. He’s getting older now, looking more and more like his father everyday.
Emerging from the tent you walk survey the crowd; elders were murmuring and many of the people were in tears. The turmoil and constant threats to the tribe had become more stress than many could handle; it was becoming more than you thought you could ever endure. You approach the elders - they almost refuse to acknowledge you are there all but one - ready to ask for guidance and maybe gains own hope. Their faces dark, a shadow seemed to look over the elders. As you approached you could hear faint words and whispers, but one particular sentence blew into your ear like a poison, “We must leave..”
the unease in your chest grew, there is no way that in his condition Aki could travel. He would die. “So it’s been decided then?” Eyes turned to face you as you spoke. Your own filling with tears at their words, “You now decide to abandon your strongest and most loyal warrior in his time of need? Where did your loyalty go? Your sense of pride for your land go? Has this not been your tribes land and home since the creation?”
Many of the elders' faces hardened and the disdainful faces you had been accustomed to grew on their faces. A frail hand found its way to yours, pulling your gaze from scorn, “We do not speak of departure without great thought. We are aware of Aki’s health and would never abandon one of our own. Dear this is not only our home but your own now. We understand the land and know of it’s importance, but our home is where we are. If we do not live to see our young like Zach grow, what is the use of land?”
As your face grew wet you couldn’t help but break down in silent sobs. Cradling yourself with your free hand. Bringing your chin to your chest you had never felt so weak. No knowledge of medicine, healing, or war; you were a helpless child with no way. As the tears continued to flow, more and more hands and arms made their way to hold you steady. The tribe was holding you up. Making sure your body stayed strong when you could not hold yourself up anymore. Two hands made their way to your face and brought your gaze to theirs. Leah’s deep eyes met your own, causing a new onslaught of tears to flow. She held your gaze firm with your eyes and spoke, “You are one of us now. Aki is our strongest warrior, but also much more; he is a friend, a neighbour, but most importantly Aki is family. We will never leave family.” Wiping your face with steady hands she continued, “we will allow him to rest a couple days and recoup his will, and strength. That will also allow the tribe time necessary to send half of us ahead to scout for new land. We will get through this danger my friend, all of us.
That night was one of the hardest so far, but had made you feel more connected to the people than ever. You silently watched the shadows of your son and husband as their chests rose and fell. Aki had a loving hand placed on his sons back, although you imagined the pain of the position was great, it seemed to bring him comfort knowing his son was in reach. Your loving Zach even in his sleep had to know you were close by; Zach’s tiny hand had found its way to your ankle and wrapped itself around. Although he ran hot like his father he still craved your warmth.

Born too late
I was born too late for you to care enough. My whole life has been spent as a silver medalist; never low enough to fail, but not good enough to get the gold.
I have jumped hurdles, mastered my sprints, and trained for marathons just to see you smile, but she is always a hundred metres ahead. No matter how hard I tried, she would win by a landslide.
It didn’t matter that I tried my best, it only mattered that I was born too late. I reach out, trying to grasp your hand; I am only met with a solid wall.
She is occupying your gaze, touch and mind. You hold her to the sky. I’ve never been myself, only a reflection of the things I believed would make you proud.
Have you even Noticed?
I’ll tear myself apart to please you. Build myself back up.
Once I believe my walls are strengthened, my cannons loaded, my kingdom powerful, you wave the white flag and send in your beggars and messengers. I allow them in attempts at peace, but they are only there to spread lies and hate. My kingdom once again crumbles as my own are turned from within.
I am forced to flee with my few remaining loyal soldiers, but after the endless battles they grow tired and old. I am unable to continue this crusade in hopes of finding the holy land - a place untainted by medals and hierarchy - I can only dream of it as my last soldier dies and I lay in my final resting place.
I guess this was always my fate, because I was born too late.

An Angry Past - Pt. 2
Shorter Chapter! I've been in a writing mood today. Was a bit stuck on how to start transitioning my story, but I hope you all like where I take it. Definitely prepare for a little angst and some drama to unfold.
Preparing a deer's hide was tedious work, but something you had grown to love doing with the tribe. You stood scrapping all the remaining fat and hair off the deer. All of the deers fat would be used in some way; the fat could be used in cooking, to eat and as an additive later to soften the hide. Earlier the brain had been carved out and was being mixed with some fat as you scrapped. Others were preparing to have some hides strung out to dry under the sun as it rose over the horizon. It was critical that these hides be treated well, the meat from the dear would feed the people and its hides would clothe them. With Zach and many other young children in the tribe growing new clothes were needed, but spending and trading what little money sent from Jasper and items they had in town would be useless. You had often wondered to yourself if this is why Jasper felt the need to go to war? Had he still felt the need to provide for you? Your pregnancy had definitely taken its toll on his nerves. As the day progressed you assisted the other women in their work and waited for your hide to dry.
Later that day your hide was still stiff, but had dried significantly. Mixing the deer's brain, fat and water, you rubbed it into the hide. Meticulously you rubbed ensuring the fat reached every corner and was distributed well. Although you had become a part of the tribe some time ago, you always felt scrutinised for having not grown up with them. Knowing often your insecurities - with the steep learning curve from the start - got the best of you, you often had to sit and remind yourself of how accepting and welcoming a vast majority of the tribe has been since your arrival. Rubbing mindlessly at the hide you felt a hand at your shoulder, “I think you’ve applied quite enough my friend!”
Laughing, you pulled your hand away and wiped it on your makeshift apron. Looking over at your closest friend Leah you smiled. “Must have just been swept away in thought.”
A knowing look and smile grew on Leah’s face. “What’s got your head in the clouds today? I couldn’t help but notice seeing a very giggly and dishevelled couple wandering back from the river last night.”
Slapping a hand over Leah’s mouth you squeaked, “Leah! Hush! Don’t need any more gossip around here. We were simply enjoying some cold water, that is all nothing to it.”
“Hmm. I’ll believe you when your face stops looking like a tomato. If you don’t want to tell your friend I understand! I guess we just aren’t as close as I thought.” Pouting and crossing her arms Leah sat on the ground and dramatically threw herself down. “I’ll just have to find someone else to tell the news I have to then! You know I wouldn’t want to bore you with too much gossip!”
Falling to your knees you sank to the grass below. “No! No! You are my dearest, bestest friend ever! I love your gossip! Please tell me!” If Leah understood one thing, it was how to make you beg to get information from her. She just rolled over into the grass and began to fiddle with some wildflowers. “Leah! Don’t be like that! If you insists on sulking though I guess I will have to leave you there all day”
Flipping over to face you, Leah seized both your wrists in her hands, “Fine! Since you dragged it out of me!” Pulling you down beside her to lay on the grass she began to whisper in your ear, “I’m pregnant!”
“Oh my god! Leah! That is great news!” Grabbing your friend you hug her tight and you both roll around giggling in the grass.
The rest of the day you and Leah discuss everything from baby names, to whose features they will get. Your hides are a little neglected and duties of the day done all together to have all the time in the world to chat. The remainder of the day is not quite as productive as the morning, but you can’t be more happy for your friend. As night nears and everyone begins to settle, it dawns on you that Aki has not been around all day. You wander looking for any trace of him. Everyone you ask either hasn’t seen him all day, or briefly saw him headed away from camp. After everything had grown dark and Zach was put to bed, you remained awake, something was eating at your nerves. It was unlike Aki to leave without warning, but also he was often called into urgent elders meetings that could go until sunrise.
Just before you were about to drift off outside your family teepee, you saw a white wolf stumbling from the tree line as day began to break. It had been quite some time since you had seen Aki’s transformation form, but you knew him anywhere. Standing you began to sprint towards the tree line. You hadn’t realised it, but you were screaming for help. Yelling to alert the tribe, because Aki’s fur was not a pure white, but stained with red and brown. Deep cuts and gashes ran along his body, and he had clearly fought something quite strong on his own. As you reached Aki, he had shifted back into his human form. Collapsing to the ground, you barely managed to cradle his massive body in your arms. Screaming, tears ran down your face. The village had been alerted by your cries, many of the warriors of the tribe had run out to investigate the commotion and others were standing at the camp's edge in disbelief. Aki was your strongest warrior and he had returned battered. You rocked his beaten body in your arms as your people ran to assist you, but all you could see was the fear on your son's face at the edge of camp through your tears.

An Angry Past - Pt. 1
This story starts around the time of the civil war and the reader is Jasper hales sister. It is up to you if it's biological, and anything to do with the appearance of the reader. I am writing with the idea of an afab character. I was inspired by the legend of the third wife so there is going to be aspects of that, but also my own creative liberties will be taken in this story. It is an eventual Paul Lahote story - that will become apparent in the next part. There is explicit content in this chapter, but nothing overly raunchy. Never written any smut scenes before, so let me know any comments or anything. I hope you enjoy the chapter and I hope to write more!
Jasper wasn’t himself after the war started; he became obsessed with enlisting and you couldn’t change his mind. Grabbing Jasper's arm you pleaded with him to think his options through, “Jasper, please. You can come live on the reserve with Aki and I.”
Sighing he grabbed your hands and looked you in the eyes, his tone stern, “Y/N you’re only seventeen and with a baby on the way, the both of you can barely get on by yourselves in the tribe. I want to serve my country and I’ll be sure to send you some money back. I love you.”
Waving goodbye to Jasper was the one hardest things you’ve ever had to do. He hung out of the side of that damn red train as long as he could; Jasper waved and waved until he was just a tiny spec on the horizon. Your husband held you as you sobbed uncontrollably into his shoulder as the train pulled out of the station and Jasper was off to war; he was too young, too innocent, but you knew no matter how much you begged he wouldn’t sit by. The colour red would never again be the same; it was the symbol of the thing that took your brother from you, the train, the rivers of blood in war. Before Aki had met you, Jasper was the only person in your life, the best big brother you could ask for.
Months later Aki had helped you through a long and nearly fatal labour; you managed to give birth to a beautiful boy, Zachary Quileute. You were Taha Aki’s third wife, at only the age of eighteen he had lost his first two to disease and childbirth. As the war continued to wage on though, tensions among tribe members grew and Aki seemed irrationally irritable. Placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, you tried to get him to make eye contact. “Love, what’s the matter?” His body remained what felt like a permanent stiff beneath your hands. His warmth radiating into your fingers in a way you never felt before, “Are you sick? You're hot to the touch and you disappear at all hours of the night.” He still remained a solid wall at your questions, the only semblance of hope you could feel in your heart was the fact he had not moved from your touch as he had done often of late. Voice breaking you asked, and hand retreating to your side, “Is there someone else?”
That is when you felt his shoulders deflate, a sniffle, and his voice crack as he turned to face you, “No my Love. I could never have another. I thought I would never be happy again until you entered my life.” He reached up to cradle your face in his palms, the feeling making you melt. “I am not sick, but I have changed my Love. With the war ongoing it has caused some new ruthless settlers to be at our borders.” Bringing your forehead to his lips, Aki released a deep sigh against your skin, “My Love, with Zach’s birth you have been exhausted and I did not want to burden you with information you were not ready to hear.” Feeling you deflate in sorrow against him, Aki quickly continued, “It is by no fault of your own dear. It is simply something I didn’t think I would ever have to discuss with you. Do you remember the legends of our tribe? The ones you hear at the grand fires we hold?”
Nodding you speak, “There are many legends of the tribe and I am learning everyday, so that I may help tell them to Zach. But my Love, I don’t know what that has to do with you changing and new settlers at our borders. We have always had the town nearby and settlers moving around.”
“Our legends are all rooted in truth, some more than others. Settlers are something we have always had to be wary of ; you remember how it was when I first brought you into our tribe. You are different though Love, these settlers are something from legend. The reason I have changed dear is not something I wanted to burden you with, but I realise it’s pushing you away.” Pulling away from your head, Aki kisses you deeply and then takes you into his arms. In the safety of your hut, you both gaze at your beautiful son - already nearly one year old - sleeping soundly in a pile of pelts. “You and Zach are the most important things in my life, I only wish to protect you.”
“Taha Aki, you protect and love the entire tribe and our family. I know you care so deeply and have lots on your mind trying to learn the ways to one day take your fathers role as elder, but I only wish to understand, so that I may help you.”
“Do you remember the legend of the cold ones?” As you nod your head against his chest he continues, “The cold ones are real and they cause a change in some of us of Quileute blood. I have had two wives before you, my Love, but that was some time ago. I have not lost them in recent years, but decades ago. I did not age past sixteen until around four years ago. If I had to guess, I have been on this Earth for quite some time.” Pulling back to look at your face, Aki could see the disbelief and confusion on your face. You were wrestling with an internal battle. “I know it is hard to believe having not grown up as a part of the tribe, but the man who I call my father is my elder brother. I have wanted to explain all of this to you, but when we met I had begun to age and selfishly thought we might be able to grow old together.”
Tears broke your water line and you sat there in confusion, “Why can you not age my Love? What allows those around you to grow old and live, but you remain frozen in time?” Lifting you both off the ground, Aki leads you outside. He takes his clothes off his body and changes. Before you in place of your husband is a great white wolf. His fur is the purest of whites like the moon. Walking closer you allow the wolf to nuzzle into your side, “beautiful.”
Years had passed since you had learned of your husband's nature, he aged gradually, but he had never halted again like he had before. The threat of the cold ones had seemingly passed and your family was happy. Your son, now three years old, was curious and adventurous. He asked frequently of his uncle Jasper who occasionally sent letters, but no one had heard from in months. It was impossible to investigate on account of not ever knowing where he was stationed, but you hadn’t received that fateful letter in the mail of his death. The tribe had its struggles with the ongoing war and many disputes with settlers nearby, but it was seeming to be coming to an end.
Two large hands grabbed at your hips and twirled you up into the air. Squealing, you kicked your legs happily at the sudden movement and laughed as your husband spun you in the air. You were placed on the ground and spun around into a deep kiss. In the middle of your settlement you embraced your husband and kissed him passionately. The hunter had just returned from a long hunting trip and many couples and families were happily reuniting. Holding your face and smiling down at you, Aki asks, “Where is my little wolf pup hiding?”
A small and faint giggle was heard a couple feet away. Hiding behind a wagon wheel stood a small little boy giggling watching his parents. Looking around aimlessly, you pretended to not see little Zach, “Oh dear! I don’t know where he went!” Walking around slowly checking behind people, “He’s not behind Leah!” Checking behind teepees, “He’s not around here! Where oh where could Zach be?”
As Zach was distracted watching you look around for him aimlessly, Aki was sneaking up behind him slowly and quietly. Trying not to look or give your husband away, you had to hide your giggles with your hand. That’s when Aki got distracted and stepped on a particularly loud twig causing it to snap. Jumping in fright Zach spun around to face his father yelping, “Ah!” Zach took off running, he dived under stationary wagons and tumbled around people as his dad raced behind him, “Mama! Mama! Save me! He’s right behind me!” Darting in your direction you swooped zach up right before Aki could get to him.
Collapsing in front of your feet, Aki dramatically held his chest, “You're lucky your Mama was there little pup, I was just about to scoop you up.”
Giggling in your arms Zach stuck his little tongue out at his father, “Mama will always get me first! She’s the strongest!”
“I will always save you from getting eaten up my little pup!” Kissing your son all over you giggle, “But that doesn’t save you from the tickle monster!”
In the evening when everyone had finished preparing and storing the meat from the hunt, Aki and you walked down to the River after putting Zach to bed. You walked hand in hand, the world light and the sky clear. The moon reminded you of the beautiful white fur of Aki’s wolf all those years ago. You both laughed as he playfully bumped into you as you walked closer to the river. Life was calm, you were seeing that Aki was finally able to relax. As you approached the river you had an idea; letting go of Aki’s hand you began stripping to just your undergarments. You ran ahead of Aki and plunged into the ice cold water. Not long after a warm hot body pressed itself against your back. Breathing heavily into your ear Aki whispered, “You don’t know what you do to me my Love. My body reacts to you unlike no other.”
Turning in the cold water to face your husband, your body had never felt so hot and alive. He was sculpted to fit into your hands perfectly; your eyes trailed his body, igniting as you looked down his strong frame all the way to the v-line from his abs down below the water line. A burning deep in your core was driving you crazy. You put one hand at the base of his strong neck and allowed the other to trace down his chest, over his stomach and all the way down to his cock. He shuddered against you, burying his face in the crook of your shoulder. His laboured breaths matching your own. His hand came up from his sides to cup your ass, squeezing and groping. The warmth of his palms makes the goosebumps on your exposed skin disappear and your head feels light. Leaning your head back and gripping the base of his neck you guide his mouth to the sensitive spots on your neck. He travels against your skin like an experienced explorer, allowing himself to savour the taste and feel of your skin. Your body alight and electric against his. You gasp as he allows himself to suck at the skin just below your pulse point, “Aki, please baby.”
“What do you need sweetheart? How can I treat you right” Your body shudders against his as his hot breath hits your ear. “Did you miss me while I was away? Miss how I can make you feel?” All you could do was nod against him as your whole body felt like it would melt away. It had been so long since the two of you could be this intimate together. You missed the feeling of his lips on yours, how his hands felt on your body, how good his tongue felt. You were brought back by the feeling of being lifted up and carried over to a patch of grass on the rivers bank. He lays you down gently and begins to leave a trail of kisses from your collarbone all the way to your thighs. He looks up at you with hungry eyes as his hands meet the band of your underwear. “May I?’
Throwing your head back in pleasure at the sight below you, you whisper, “Fuck… Please do Aki.”
Pulling the band of your underwear down slowly with both hands, Aki kisses your legs as he goes painfully slow. All the way from your heat, to your thighs, knees, calves until he reaches your feet. The underwear long forgotten Aki spreads your legs apart and makes his way back up slowly. Shuddering in anticipation you close your eyes. Suddenly you feel him stop, “Open your eyes my love, I want you to watch as I eat you out. I want you to remember what it looks like and feels like to feel so good.” You hold your eyes open as he reaches the top. You have missed how his tongue feels and how his fingers move to expertly move where you need them. Everything is pure ecstasy.

Spirit of the sea
Izzy Hands x Reader (GN)
You were a member of Blackbeard's crew long ago. Then you became a ghost story. Izzy Hands only sees you in his dreams these days, until he sees you for real when investigating Stede Bonnet. This sets him on a rollercoaster of emotions between you and what his captain is doing.
{Masterlist}
{Previous Chapter} - {Next Chapter}
Warnings: Not much Izzy and Reader interaction, because, ya know. However, you will be bonding with some of the crew, so yay!
Chapter Six - Out in the open
♡♡♡
You didn't sleep at all. Neither did Izzy by the sounds of it. He spent the rest of the night clearing out his cabin and packing what little he had.
As the sun began to rise and the darkness faded, you stood beside Edward looking down at the dingy below. Izzy was standing in it looking up at you.
Your expression was cold. The light in your eyes was gone, he noticed. Izzy could sense your pain from this.
It hurt him too. To leave you behind was not his plan, but you refused to come with him, he wasn't going to force you. If only he could look you in the eye and be honest with you.
"So, is this it then?" Izzy asks Blackbeard.
"You shouldn't have duelled him, Iz! We could've worked this out."
"You will rue this day, Edward. You will rue it long, and you will rue it hard."
Roach comes up beside you with a smile. "Hey. Made you a sandwich for the trip."
You take the sandwich from his hand and look down at Izzy. It's going to seem childish, bit at least you can get one last insult in. You throw the wrapped sandwich at Izzy with no intention of him being able to catch it. Instead it hits him in the head and bounces into the ocean.
Izzy stares up at you. You ignore the way Edward is side eyeing you too.
"I would've eaten that," Ivan says.
"A fucking pox on all of you!" Izzy growls.
"Well, that's that," Edward grumbles, walking away. Ivan soon follows him. You remain standing at the railing with Roach, watching Izzy sit in the boat and row away.
"Not for nothing, but that guy really is a dick, huh?" Roach says.
You sigh softly, letting Roach leave.
"But he was our dick..."
♡♡♡
Lucius hands his severed finger over to Fang. You watch from the other side of the ship as they throw it into the water.
You were amazed to find out that Lucius cut off his own finger in a moment of hysteria during last night's fuckery. It was disgusting, but also kind of impressive.
Pete had whittled him a wooden one to wear, so all was good in the end.
You walk last Stede to go sulk for a while. He is still stabbed into the mast.
"You alright?"
"I'd very much like it out," he says, looking a little worse for wear now. He'd been there most of the night at this point.
"I'll go get someone."
"Thank you." He sounds rather appreciative. You carry on walking.
As you go below deck, Edward is waiting for you. You smile as you go to pass him, but he holds up his hand, stopping you. You take a step back and look up at your captain.
"He didn't stay."
You didn't have to do much thinking to understand what he meant. "No. He didn't."
"Did you talk to him?" Edward asks.
"Course I did. You know I did."
"And still he left..."
"Ed, I can't force Izzy to do anything. You know him better than I do. You what he's like."
"Nah. You know him better than anyone," Ed says to you. "I figured he would fold if you spoke to him. Assumed you would be his reason to stay, even after that duel."
"Why? It's probably for the best. I unintentionally left you all behind 6 years ago. He's intentionally leaving us. Let the man do what he wants," you sigh.
"You left him 6 years ago." Edward looks at you with stern eyes, his head tilted forward slightly.
"Huh?"
"Nevermind." Edward walks away leaving you confused and dazed.
♡♡♡
A couple days pass. Edward and Stede grow closer and closer. Edward has been a little down about Izzy leaving, but Stede always know what to say or day to bring his mood back up again.
You, however, feel like a piece of you is missing. From the moment Izzy left, the ship has felt incomplete.
You have spent the last couple nights in, what was, Izzy's cabin. He had taken the few thing he owned with him. You sat on the bed and stared at the empty desk. The little wooden sparrow was gone. He had taken it with him. You're not sure what to do with that information, but it was comforting in a way.
Still, there wasn't anything left behind for you to hold onto.
Roach rushes past the door as you're sulking. You look up just in time to catch him flee past. Figuring there is no use in depressing yourself over the loss of your friend, you decide to go figure out what that was all about.
Turns out there are no oranges onboard. Oh, and the Swede has scurvy.
Roach had used most of them for a fucking cake that Stede had asked for. You stare at the gentleman pirate in disbelief.
"You had him make you a cake?"
"It hardly tasted of oranges." Stede says. Roach looks offended.
"So it was a waste." You sigh.
"Well, not completely. I still ate it."
"Either way, we need more oranges."
The crew start fussing as the topic of the Swede having scurvy come up again. You let out a long sigh as you look at this group.
"Let's just accept the fact that, due to Roach's immorderate use of the citrus, we now have to go grocery shopping."
Roach scoffs.
"St Augustine's full of oranges, and we're right near there," Frenchie says.
"Oh! Anything exciting to do there? Maybe something that might impress a world-weary, adventuring type?" Stede asks.
"No! It's boring and awful, and the humidity? Do you understand what that'll do to your hair?" Jim says, standing up.
"So?" Olu asks. Jim walks off.
"I'll wear a hat," Stede says proudly.
"Anyone else's fingernails falling off?" The Swede asks. You groan and leave with the rest of the crew.
♡♡♡
Stede had gone to St Augustine with Lucius. You remained on the ship with the crew. You were sitting in the captain's quarters with Edward. You were stretched out on one of the couches, a book in your hand. Edward was examining one of Stede's robes.
"Are you missing him?" Ed asks.
"Hm? Who?" You ask, not looking up from the book. It was a page on the legend of Blackbeard. You were fascinated by the way people viewed the man in front of you.
"Izzy."
"Oh." You still don't look up from the book.
Edward looks over at you. You had become a lot quieter since Izzy left. "You've been sleeping in his cabin. I've seen you."
"The room's available now. Might as well make use of it."
"Right. Yeah. Sure." Edward says, not so convincingly. He walks over to the coach you're perched on and plants his hands firmly on it, looking down at you.
"I'm fine, Edward."
"You don't look fine. What are you reading anyway?"
You snap the book shut and look up at him. "Just a book!"
"Alright. No need to get antsy."
"I'm sorry," you sigh. "I'm just worried."
"About Izzy?" He asks.
"Yeah. When I left, it was unintentional. I literally couldn't get back to you. He left because of some stupid duel and wouldn't stay when I asked. He would rather honour dueling rules than..." You gasp for breath. "Than stay with me."
Ed places a hand on your shoulder. "Mate..."
You shrug his hand off. "Forget it. I'm being stupid. I just... I just thought Izzy was my friend."
"Yeah, me too, mate."
However, Edward wanted to say more. It just didn't look like the best time. The moment is broken by Stede strutting in with Lucius behind him. He's waving something around in his hand.
"Look at what I got!"
Edward leaves your side to go peer at the item Stede was gushing about. Lucius sends you a look that tells you he was mentally drained. You chuckle softly.
"A treasure map!"
You and Edward share a look.
"Read it and weep, my friend. Adventure awaits."
"Look, mate, I hate to be a downer, but people just don't bury treasure. It's just not done." Ed explains to him.
"Well, why make a map?" Stede asks.
"He's saying the map's not real," Lucius chimes in.
"Yeah, the whole burying treasure thing is just a tale," you add in.
"What? Course it's real! Look at it. Tatty edges. It's burnt. It's been around, it's seen things."
"You got scammed for money," you say plainly.
"If it were real, why would she have sold it to you?" Ed asks. You nod. "Why not keep the map herself, and find the treasure herself?"
"Oh, Strong question. Love that." Lucius says.
"Scam," you add in again.
"Maybe she's just lazy. I mean, she works down at the docks selling maps, for God's sake."
"Best of luck to you, mate. I'm taking a nap." Ed slumps down on the coach you're on and plants his legs over your lap. You glare at him softly.
"Last I heard, a ship only has one captain, and the captain of this vessel says, 'On your feet!' We're having a day." Stede says standing up. "Once I've changed."
Stede leaves to get dressed. You turn your head to Edward.
"Now you have to go."
"If I'm going, you're coming with me," he says, giving you a light glare.
"Fuck that."
"I'm your captain. Orders are orders."
You stare at him in disbelief. "Oh, that's mean."
Edward has a shit-eating grin on his face.
♡♡♡
Within the hour Stede had changed into more 'appropriate' attire and you all went ashore. You continued to give Blackbeard a death stare as he rowed the boat over. He just grinned back at you.
However, once on land, he became self conscious about his very being getting caught on the island. After all, people know of Blackbeard. Scary murderous pirate can't be caught treasure hunting of all things.
You found amusement in this.
"So, we're either here, or possibly here." Stede says, looking at his map. You were walking on one side of him, Lucius on the other. Ed was on the other end.
Edward was trying to hide his face every time he walked past someone.
"Why are you hiding you face?"
"He's freakin' Blackbeard. He can't be caught treasure hunting," you say, returning the shit-eatkng grin back to your captain.
"We're in the middle of nowhere. No one's gonna recognise you." Stede says, looking at Ed.
"Hey, Blackbeard! Treasure hunting!" A resident calls out. You give Stede a deadpan look.
Edward threatens the man. "Shut the fuck up, OK? I'm not Blackbeard. Fuck off, get outta here! Move."
The man hurries off.
"Right, Ed, you go stand over there under that tree, and Stede, you figure out which way you wanna go, okay?" You say, taking matters into your own hands.
Edward walks off to hide under the tree.
"Now look, we're going to have fun today, and that's an order," Stede states firmly.
"You can't really order people to have fun, but..."
"Well, I just did. Guys like Blackbeard, they live for adventure. It's like nourishment for them. So we're going to have an extremely fun, memorable, deeply cool adventure.".
You can't fight back the smile from listening to Stede. Was he trying to impress Blackbeard? Okay, that's cute. He's being cute.
"Now, do I have your support on that?" Stede asks Lucius.
"Yeah, OK."
♡♡♡
Stede takes the lead. You walk with Edward behind him a little ways. Lucius is following behind you both.
Edward seems to be slowly growing more agitated the further this goes on. He swatting violently at the flies buzzing around your heads. You have to duck a few times to avoid getting a snack across the head.
"Well this is fun," you mutter.
"Shut up," Ed spits out, clearly not having fun.
"Might as well make the most of it. We're both stuck here."
Edward sighs and glares at you. "Stupid treasure hunting."
"I say let Stede have his silly fun."
"Would you have agreed to do this if it was Izzy?"
"Izzy wouldn't be caught dead treasure hunting," you say. "He'd have killed the man who dared ask him to."
Blackbeard swats away more flies. "You still upset about Izzy?"
"You mean since we spoke about him last like 2 hours ago? Yes, Edward. I'm still upset the bastard left."
"Sensing quite a bit of tension here," Lucius says, coming up beside you. You roll your eyes. "What's the deal with dizzy Izzy anyway?"
"It's just Izzy," you warn him. "Izzy is... was, my friend."
"Doesn't seem like the type to have friends."
"Hey, he's my friend too," Ed says.
"Is he though?" You ask, looking at Ed.
"What does that mean?"
"Izzy had been trying to talk to you for days, and all you did was brush him aside to go hang out with Stede. You didn't even stop to hear him out."
"I knew what it was about."
"Still, you didn't stop to listen," you say, watching where you were stepping.
"It amazes he even has friends," Lucius says. You glare at him. "I just mean... he was very intense."
"Yeah, well, that's just Izzy."
"Kinda cute really."
"What is?" You ask, eyeing him.
"How much you care for the bastard."
"Shut up."
Edward swats away more flies. Stede had gone on so far ahead, you had lost sight of him.
"Fuck off, flies!" Edward yells.
"They're not that bad. They really a full of blood, though, aren't they? Like little flying grapes." Lucius comments. One then flies into his mouth and he starts choking. "I think I just swallowed one!"
"At least you got lunch. I'm fuckin' starving." Edward sighs.
"Guys! Come quick! I've found something!" Stede calls out.
"Thank God," you mutter, hoping he had found his treasure and you could all go back to the ship.
Stede turns around with an insect resting on his finger. You groan quietly.
"Dryocampa rubicunda, or the candied melon silk moth. A very rare specimen. See? We're already finding stuff."
"Great, you found a bug. Cheers." Edward is less than impressed.
"And who says treasure maps are useless?" Lucius says. You all turn to look at him. "I wasn't being sarcastic, that's just how I talk."
"Laugh at you want, but without the map, we wouldn't have found this little guy, so it's already paying dividends." Stede remains positive.
"Suppose it is pretty interesting, for an insect." Ed says, looking back at the moth. He the goes back to fighting flies. "Fuck this. I'm going back to the ship."
As Edward marches away, you follow after him.
"Oh, come on! We're having fun! You know what your problem is? You just have no idea how to relax!" Stede calls out. "Does he Lucius?"
"I mean, you are kind of intense, like... all of the time," Lucius says.
That's 2 people he has now described as intense.
"It's a running theme with Blackbeard," you say mindlessly.
"You're not intense." Lucius looks at you.
"Give me time."
"I know how to relax." Edward leans against a tree. "See? I'm actually quite relaxed right now."
A snake falls from the tree into Ed's open arms and he starts to fight it, smacking it onto the ground and then stabbing it violently. "Die!"
"According to the map, there are snakes in this area." Stede stands there, looking at Edward. "So, just be careful."
You run a hand down your face and sigh deeply.
♡♡♡
The snake becomes lunch. You set up a campfire and Ed cooks the snake. You sit on the ground beside Lucius while the two captain share a log.
"Is this what Blackbeard is usually like?" Lucius asks you.
"It's how I remember him. But he softened up a lot since Stede it seems..."
You both gaze at the captain's. They're babbling on about Ed having a restaurant where he could serve snake and have a gift shop. You wonder how it came to this point.
"Must have been impressive sailing on his crew." Lucius takes a bite of his snake.
"Yeah. They were good old days."
"What was it like?"
"Probably about what you expect from the stories, to be honest. A lot of raiding and death. But we were also close as a crew. Kind of. Blackbeard as our captain, Izzy doing every little thing that was asked of him. Fang and Ivan working their asses off to please both Izzy and Blackbeard."
"Sounds kind of... well, intense. Doesn't really sound close. More like everyone just working hard to please the others. What about you?"
"Me? I did what I could to keep everyone happy. To keep... Izzy happy..."
"You must really like him. Like, really like him." You jab Lucius with your elbow. "Ow! Okay, sorry..."
"Izzy works his ass off. Yeah, I get it, he's a dick and it's very hard to like him, but he's not all bad. He's just... stressed beyond belief, and the one man he tries so hard to please barely acknowledges it!"
Lucius glances at Blackbeard. "Oh."
"Look, I won't deny it. I have a soft spot for Izzy Hands."
"Yeah, I noticed."
You give him a gentle shove with your arm.
"Well, he's gone now. Maybe you can find some relief."
"Relief?"
"Yeah." Lucius shrugs. "Maybe you can move on. Let that part of you go."
You look down at the bit of snake in your hand. Let Izzy go? Is that possible? Can you do that? You hadn't once let go during the 6 years you were apart of him. But had he? After all, he thought you were dead during that time.
"Maybe make Izzy a ghost of your past," Lucius suggests.
"A ghost...?"
You're pulled out of your thoughts by Stede helping get snake out of Ed's beard. You and Lucius stare at the two. The conversation about Izzy being put to the back of your mind.
"Oh my God, this is happening," Lucius mutters.
"Wow," you whisper.
"What?" They look at the pair of you.
"Nothing."
You turn back to Lucius who gives you another look. Yeah, it's happening.
♡♡♡
The map caught fire. It was a total accident and was bound to happen, but alas, there's not much of the map left.
Stede sits on his knees as he tries to fix it.
"There's still a few scraps that didn't completely burn."
"Ah, give it up, Stede. All adventures have a natural conclusion, and this one's more than fitting." Ed says, watching him.
"No, I think I can fix this. Come on, the day's not fully ruined."
"God, he'll probably be moping all the way back to the ship." Ed groans.
"You don't have to be a dick about it," Lucius says softly, frowning.
"What?" Edward turns to him, his voice sharp.
"He said don't be a dick about it." You look Edward in the eye. "He's put this whole thing together just for you."
"For me? Why?"
"Look, you're very cool, and you wear leather, OK, so maybe you won't understand this, but everyone is worried all of the time whether they're interesting or adventurous enough for you." Lucius tells him right off the bat.
"That bizarre little man over there likes you very much, and you like him." You state plainly to your captain.
"If you can't get over yourself long enough to realise that, you're going to end up another lesther-clad, middle-aged sad sack dying alone in a puddle of his own piss." Lucius carries on angrily. "You can stab me in the face now."
Edward glances at you. He can tell from your expression that you agree with Lucius. He walks quietly over to where Stede is.
"It's hopeless. We might as well head back to the ship," Stede sighs, defeated. "You were right. It's a stupid idea. I... I don't know why we're here."
"I'm actually a little disappointed," Edward tells him. "I was startin' to have fun."
Ed gestures for you and Lucius to come closer. You both go to stand beside him. Ed points to piece of the map. "That little bit there on that lite scrappy bit of paper, that looks like a tree, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, no, definitely does to me," Lucius says. You just nod.
"And the other little squiggly bit. What's that look like?"
"Like a road, or a river." You might as well join in and make the most of this.
"You know what? I think, just with this little bit here, we could probably sort this out."
"Yeah?" Stede asks full of hope.
"They're all the pieces we need."
"Shall I prepare the shovel, or..." Lucius goes to grab it.
"We didn't come all this way to not dig something up!"
"Right!" Stede stands up. "That's the spirit. OK. This way." Stede marches onward.
"That was sweet," you say, turning to Ed.
"Don't, or I will stab you in your face."
You laugh and follow them as they head off further into the trees.
♡♡♡
"Is this how you felt with Izzy?" Edward asks, walking alongside you again.
"What do you mean?"
He gazes at Stede and motions between himself and the other man with his hand. "This."
"Are you implying I was in love with Izzy Hands?" You ask. Edward nods. "What? No! Izzy was my friend. He needs friends, Ed. If anything... no, forget it."
"What?"
"No, nothing. You're not ready to hear that.
"You two were so close, ya know." Edward shrugs his shoudler lightly. "Kind of envied that."
"Envied it? Izzy was your friend too."
"Yeah, but, like, not in the way you were friends. You too had something. He still wears that ring around his neck."
"The ring on his necktie? He's always had that. What's that got to do with anything?" You ask, confused by Edward's words.
"No. Not that. He has a chain he wears under his shirt. There's a ring on it."
"Huh?"
"Izzy found a ring on that ship that night. Pretty little ring. He didn't say anything for a while about after the night we lost you, but eve actually I had to ask. I caught him looking at it as it hung around his neck. Told me he thought of you when he saw it. He was gonna give it to ya, but... well, you know."
You look at the ground, brows knitted together in thought. Hearing Izzy like this was so soft and gentle. He was sentimental.
"Why didn't he say anything?" You ask. "After my return."
"Perhaps he can't bring himself to. You know what's he's like. Doesn't trust easy, for starters."
"He lost trust in me?"
"We thought you were dead," Edward says softly. "Don't forget that. For 6 years you were dead in our lives."
"Fuck..."
"Listen, mate. Don't feel bad. Things didn't turn out as planned and a lot of shit happened. But we're cool. You're back and everything is gonna be okay."
"But Izzy is gone. The bastard left... he left me behind! If... if I meant anything to him, I..."
"Hey, hey, hey! Calm down."
You take a deep breath. "Sorry."
"It's all good. What's done is done. Just don't hate the man, okay?"
"Hate him...?" You fall quiet. "I couldn't hate him."
Ed keeps an arm around you as the group keeps on walking. Eventually the adventure comes to an end. To get this over with, Lucius and Ed guide Stede to an old dead tree.
"You sure this is the right tree?" Stede asks.
"Yeah, definitely."
"Oh, undoubtedly, mate."
"It looks just like the one off the map."
"Plus, pirates are ways burying stuff at the base of trees," Ed says.
"See, now I feel you're patronising me."
"What are you doing to my family's tree?" Jim asks, standing behind Bonnet.
"Good timing. I'm just about to unearth some treasure," Stede replies happily.
"We, er..." Ed goes over to Jim to speak quietly behind Stede. "We're just letting him dig for a bit, get it out of his system."
"I found something! What do you think it could be?"
"A rock." You, Lucius, and Jim all said at the same time.
"I've got it." Stede holds the item up. "I think it's a rock."
You sigh. "Yeah, too bad."
Stede tosses the rock over to Edward. "Yeah, sorry, mate. That's usually how these things go. Just end up finding a rock, or dried-up piece of shit."
Ed uses one of the water tankers Lucius is carrying to rinse the rock.
"Well, I guess the real treasure was our day spent together, am I right?" Lucius smiles.
"Lucius! We spend every day together." Stede puts his hands on his hips.
You laugh a little. Ed looks at you with a smile.
"Treasure is the real treasure."
"Hey, look at that. It's an orange." Edward holds the 'rock' up. "Petrified." He tosses it back to Stede.
"Old tree will had some fruit to give after all." Jim looks at the tree fondly.
Stede offers the orange to Jim, since the fruit came from their tree, but Jim tosses it back. It's Stede's treasure.
"OK, back to the boat," Ed says, turning on his heel. You do not hesitate to catch up. You've had enough adventure for one day.
♡♡♡
Edward joins Stede in his quarters after you all return to the ship. While Lucius smiles and listens to the other party's adventure on getting oranges, you sneak past them to go hide in Izzy's old cabin.
Lucius sees you though.
You sigh as you stand in the doorway and look at the bed. It doesn't feel right without him. You sit down carefully and rest your head back against the wall.
"Where did you go, Izzy?" You whisper. "Why did you leave me?"
A knock at the door startles you and you turn to see Lucius standing there, now without all the gear he had been carrying all day.
"Hey."
"Hi."
He looks at you with a kind softness. "You want some company?"
You sigh softly and nod your head. Lucius comes over and sits beside you on the bed. He rests his head back too and looks at you, planting a hand over yours on your leg.
"You know, I kind of miss him yelling at us all, in a weird kind of way."
You laugh.
"Yeah? You get used to it after a while. Sorry he was such a dick to you though." You apologise.
"Nah, forget about it." He waves his hand as if to brush the apology off. "He definitely had a soft spot for you."
You shrug. "So people keep telling me."
"But it's true. I saw the way he looked at you." Lucius smiles.
"Shut it."
You both chuckles. A moment of silence passes before you sigh and speak again. "I just wish I could apologise to him some more. I want to see his stupid face and know that he trusts me again."
"Blackbeard said he closed himself off after I "died." And I don't luke the idea of him suffering alone in silence."
Lucius gives your hand a squeeze. "Things will get better."
You look at him. "I kind of like being on this ship. It was weird at first because it was so different from other ships I've been on, but it had grown on me."
"Yeah get kind of used to it."
You both smile at each other.
"Thanks for checking on me, Lucius."
"Any time, sweetheart," he grins and winks at you. You laugh and give him a gentle shove. "You ever been sketched?" He asks.
You try to bite down your smile, but to no avail. "No."
"Wanna be?"
You laugh.
It felt good to laugh again.

Undiscovered Future Pt. 10
Sorry for anyone who was previously waiting on this, but I took a long hiatus from Tumblr. If any who have read my story are back, hello! To any new readers who are in this far, welcome!
___________________________________________________________
Arriving on the distinct uninhabited island was an easy task. It was relatively large, and the wildlife could be heard within the dense jungle. The chirping of birds caused their ears to twitch to attention. This foreign territory made Savanna’s tail sway anxiously; ears shooting in the direction as a new sound was made. No matter what period of life she had been in, Savanna had always had a large group of Na’vi, or RDA operatives close by. The idea of this solitude for a week was unnerving, but she wasn’t completely alone. Looking over to where Aonung untied their limited supplies from Daisy, she realised the weight of being here with him. Aonung had returned and chosen to ignore her just days before. She could see the scowls he would scorn her family with, the cruel laughter that came from his lips and the contempt in his heart. Underneath the jabs and cruelty though, Savanna had seen glimpses of the Aonung who asked about her home, made friendly wagers with her, and who let her lean on his chest as they glided over the ocean. Sighing, she walked across the sand and began to assist Aonung silently unload.
A small Hunting hut had been installed on the island years ago, but it was quite small and was wearing down in many areas. It very closely resembled the pods back in the village, but was sized down significantly. Savanna guessed this island wasn’t used for much more than the occasional small hunting trip. It was safe to assume due to it just being her and Aonung, Tonowari had sent them to a spot where the wildlife wasn’t regularly hunted, so they’ll be more docile. Aonung and Savanna organised the few water pouches and food they had brought. The hut was comfortable, but quite dusty; the hut had not been touched for many years, allowing for the weapons in the corner to become dull. This hut had clearly seen generations of young Na’vi warriors who had come to complete a hunt for the tribe. From where Savanna was perched on the floor she could see Aonung inspecting a rack of weapons. Savanna began to rub at her weary eyes. Looking for a place to sleep, Savanna came to a daunting realisation, “Aonung.”
Placing the spear in his hand down, Aonung followed her gaze to the corner of blankets used to sleep on. “Well shit.”Both teenagers anxiously looked at the sleeping corner and realised it was the only one in the hut. They were going to have to bunk up together. If she stared long enough, Savanna hoped the hut would double in size and she could escape this nightmare. Aonung looked as if he could burn a hole in the tent with his eyes, “Maybe if we take the weapons outside we can make it two separate spots.”
Furrowing her eyebrows, Savanna gives Aonung a deadpan look, “We can’t have them get more damaged. We have to sharpen them a shit ton already Aonung.” Pacing the tiny space in circles, Savanna throws her head back in frustration, “I’ll just sleep outside problem solved!”
“You know that won’t work; it gets extremely cold outside at night, especially being on an island this close to the ocean.”
“I’ll survive!” Throwing her hand up in exasperation, “I've got no other ideas!”
Getting worked up, Aonung marches over right in front of Savanna, “Just sleep with me! It’s the only way that will work at this rate!” The two of them stood face to face silently for a few seconds, a purple hue travelling across Aonungs face and blooming on the tip of his ears at the possible implications of his words. A smirk began to form on Savanna’s lips at his embarrassment. “Savanna! You know what I meant! Fine. Have it your way, sleep outside.”
As the sun fully set Savanna closed the hut and layed down to sleep. Aonung was right; it got quite chilly. Goosebumps began to pop up on her skin. She shivered slightly, but remained where she was. Eventually she managed to fall asleep. At one point she thought she heard a rustle, but she chalked it up to her tired mind.
The next morning Savanna felt warmth radiating on her back and stomach; she adjusted slightly and nestled into the comfortable heat radiating on her. Then she felt the fingers flexing on her back and pulling her close. Suddenly the morning wasn’t as quiet, her mouth went dry and her eyes wide. Acutely aware of the breath as it hit her shoulder, how the curls burned her skin like the sun. She looked around and noticed a distinct lack of sand and general outside. When had she gone inside? Trying to move away from Aonung’s mass was proving to be difficult, everytime she got close to freeing herself he’d adjust and grumble. It was quite cute how his unconscious self sought her out, but she needed to get up. Deciding to give up, Savanna tangled her hands gently in Aonungs hair and pulled his head away from her shoulder, “Wake up pretty boy.”
Grunting and fluttering his eyes open slightly he scowled at Savanna, “Let me sleep Sav.” His head flopped loosely back down on her shoulder and he began to snore again.
“No. Get your ass up, sleepy head!” Savanna Began to shift her whole body. She pried his hand off her back and sat up. He was still half draped across her, his torso having shifted to her lap now.
Perking his head up and opening his eyes, Aonung smiled softly at Savanna, “Sav, why are you up so early?” Sitting up right to face her, he whipped the morning grogginess from his eyes.
“It’s not even early. You just sleep like a log.” sighing she asked, “how did I get inside anyway.”
Turning to face away from her Aonung spoke, “You must have wandered in at some point. Like you said I sleep like a log, I don’t know when you got in.”

I almost never posted when I used reddit. I left comments maybe once every few weeks. But here on Tumblr I feel like I need to be posting something. I know I don't really, but I've got 5 followers for some reason. I have a responsibility now. I wasn't ready to have kids, but here they are, all 5 of them, and I need to keep them fed. Here, my children, have a meager text post.
I am rewarded for my efforts with a little pop up that says some people reblogged my post. Once again, I cannot imagine why they would do that, but here we are. Back in the reddit lands, there were no tantalizing little notifications for upvotes. There was a little ticker for people to click, but that's passive. I got over a thousand upvotes once and I said "neat." But here on Tumblr, these interactions are active. If I get reblogged, it's not just a passing bit of reassurance. It's someone actually taking the garbage I just spewed out and sticking it up on the fridge for everyone to see.
I'm up on the fridges of like 10 strangers. And I want more.
