the year we took the biggest step in queer History, legalising gay marriage in the US, I made the decision that would wreck the rest of my life

i may have been only 3 years old, but I made the decision that I wanted to do dance forever, even though I was already being bullied and had no friends.

on June 26, 2015, gay marriage was legalized in the United states

on June 26, 2015, I told my mother that I wanted to do dance the next year

now I'm here, cuts and scars on my wrists, adhd with a hint of autism, trans but not out, living a double life because the art form that once brought me joy has now trapped me in a much darker place where no 13 year old should be

hug your tiny self today, my queer friends, and remember the decisions the world made versus what you made, and if the world made a better decision than you, leave whatever is causing you hell

your life will be better than ever

whether you know it or not, you inspire someone every day of your life. you may be the one who that one kid from your 6th grade class thought was so cool that they modeled herself after you, or the person who the other older kid got restored hope in the younger generation because you showed him that.

your gifts are appreciated in this world by many, many people. if you are in a bad situation, I hope the circumstances change in your favour and you are able to be your true self everywhere, because you will thrive and life will be better than you ever thought it could be.

don't lose hope, ever. find a community and establish a support system that you know you can go to if you ever have a problem or concern. don't hesitate to reach out when you need it.

I know you are the solution to what the world needs. I love you all and I hope life treats you well.

I need people to stop calling all trans men transmasc. First of all, not all trans men are masc, some of us actually like to keep our feminity. Secondly, it feels completely degrading! You're not a "man" you're just... "masculine". So we dont have to think about you being a man, because it's gross. "Masculine" is less scary type shit. Fuck off. I'm a man. Im not "masc". I'm a trans man. If one more person calls me transmasc instead of saying Im a trans man I'm going to lose it.

Edit: this post is about trans men. If I get another comment going on about how "transmasc is an umbrella term" I KNOW. THIS ISN'T ABOUT THAT. THIS IS ABOUT TRANS MEN. Istg I'll turn off reblogs

@aclu_nationwide worked with trans artists and allies across the country to create the Freedom To Be Monument in Washington, D.C. With two hundred quilt squares, the installation is a powerful and living testament to trans resilience and joy.

As we await the Supreme Court’s decision in US v. Skrimetti, this Monument stands as a bold declaration against the rising tide of anti-trans legislation, healthcare bans, and other attacks on trans people which seek to strip away their fundamental freedoms.
