‘Almost forgot to update. The theme for June is….
🍬SWEETS!🍭
(No chocolate)
Basically the idea is for a piece based around confectioneries, sweeties, candy, spice, whatever you want to call ‘em. But the caveat is that it can’t be anything chocolate. ‘Already have that as a separate prompt, so this’ll force us to be more creative.

Of course it didn’t take long for an AI troglodyte to have a tantrum. I know they meant it as an insult, but honestly, I have never felt so good about myself as an artist!
Look at it! 😂 It looks like like an infected burn wound with hard-boiled egg white instead of crust. There aren’t even any pineapples like the person told it to generate!
This really cements why AI “”art”” is bollacks. Can you imagine being proud of the fact that you refuse to try what a toddler gripping a crayon can do?
People look at my canvas and say,
“Oh wow! A pizza!”
They’ll look at that and say,
“Is that… meant to be a pizza?”
(Seriously, two minutes after I uploaded! Do they just spend ages refreshing the timeline on anti AI tags?! 🤣)
May’s theme - CIRCLE! That alone had me trying out so many things. While I was still deciding, I deciding to pick-up a pack of three, different size, circle canvases. In the end I decided on a pizza, a disco ball and an anti-AI art symbol. 🍕 🪩 🚫
With the pizza, I went with BBQ chicken, my favourite, instead of the more fitting choice of pepperoni - just to shake things up. I’ve discovered I have a knack for drawing food, so it’s good to see I can apply it to a 3D canvas too. In fact, the night of the showcase, I ordered a pizza from a place I hadn’t tried before, sure enough, the one I got looked just like my painting!

I kept updating the process to an Italian friend of mine, when she saw the dough and crust, she said she thought it was real! I knew I was on the right track then.
The disco ball proved to be a pain, I’d painted and repainted it so many times because I kept making so many mistakes. And of course I had to choose an iridescent rainbow colour scheme, rather than a simple silver ball. But once again the phrase “finished is better than perfect’ helped stop me from spending more time than I should’ve, even after the showcase.
The anti AI art was pure catharsis. So many artists have done their take on the logo, so I was glad to finally have one of my own. Even better to hold it in my hands. Plus I just love this style of colouring and painting.
Then, just like the pools, I added a painted egg to the mix, choosing primary coloured dots. Even outside of major projects, wooden egg painting has become just a relaxing hobby for me. I just remind myself to show my collection sometime.
It was so fun to see what everything did. I may have chosen circular objects, but it was even better to see people choose circular compositions, patterns, keys-arts of a larger piece. It’s hard to pick a favourite amongst them all.

Thursday’s come and gone, and I know you want to see the art group’s CIRCLE theme showcase, but there will be a slight delay for the upload. I’ve done three pieces on different sized circle canvases. Two of them are finished, but there’s still one that needs some work. Which’ll involve getting the right colour acrylic paint to add the final touches. Once that’s done, I can show you all what we’ve done and let you know what theme June has in store…

Happy birthday to my deer dear friend, @wickedmusic96!
I remembered she’s been wanting to see a piece of this description for a while now; so today was the perfect day for it! Her favourite animal, with a couple elements of her favourite Greek goddess sprinkled in. 🦌🌙🏹

@hallowed-harpy I just want to say, thank you so, so, SO MUCH for this video you did, shouting out my eggies! I am honestly so honoured you’d make an entire vid about them! I went to check out your TikTok page after seeing you reblog it here. What a hell of a way to start my morning!
Something I should mention is that I’m a woman, since you referred to me as a “his”. I forget my first name can get people mixed-up.
MISSING TARGARYEN EGGS:
I’ve been driving myself a little insane as of late; Obsessively pondering and pouring-over the fact that there’s a staggering amount of unhatched dragon eggs in ASOIAF. All the way up to the mad king Aerys II’s attempts to hatch them. With potentially over twenty left unaccounted for after being first mentioned. That’s not assuming how many of these eggs got passed-down and given to the next generation after the Dance of the Dragons.
Despite that, only six of these established eggs had their appearances described. So I decided to draw them! Since I loved doing Dany’s eggs last year.
MAELOR “THE MISSING” TARGARYEN:
Like his elder siblings, the twins Jahaerys and Jahaera, Prince Maelor’s egg was placed in his cradle at birth. But unlike his sibling’s eggs, who would hatch and be bonded to Shrykos & Morghul respectively; Maelor’s remained unhatched by the time civil war broke-out between the Black and Green factions of House Targaryen. Being born in the latter, his egg was a fitting pale green with silver swirls. After the Greens were forced to flee King’s Landing, Maelor and his egg were to be escorted by Ser Rickard Thorne of the Kingsguard to the safety of Oldtown. Only for the three year-old Prince and his escort to meet a gruesome end at Bitterbridge in 130AC. The ruling Lady Caswell had the egg sent to Maleor’s great uncle, Lord Ormund Hightower, hoping it would appease the Greens. It did not. The Massacre of Bitterbridge followed soon after.
AEGON THE USURPER:
After the prolonged death of his dragon, Sunfyre, in 130 AC, Aegon II of the Green faction had a maester send him seven eggs from Dragonstone, hoping he could quickly gain a new mount to finally win the civil war. As armies still fought in the name of his half-sister, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, whose crown he’d usurped. Out of all his options, he had his eyes set on an egg of purple and gold. Believing it would hatch a worthy replacement: "—a new Sunfyre, prouder and fiercer than the last". Aegon would be poisoned the following year and none of his chosen hatched. Why yes, this egg does remind me of Spyro, I’m glad you agree.
ELAENA TARGERYAN:
Despite the many vast and interesting details we know of the life of Princess Elaena Targaryen, from her and her sister’s imprisonment in the Maidenvault, to her unofficial time as Master of Coin and advisor to Daeron the Good, the final whereabouts of her egg are not officially given. Even though it was said to be her most cherished possession; its shell sharing the same platinum white colour and bright golden streak as her own unique hair.
AEGON THE UNWORTHY/LORD AMBROSE BUTTERWELL:
An egg of red, with golden flecks and black whorls. It once belonged to Aegon IV, but ever the reckless, entitled, and lustful man he was, he simply gave it away. He offered it to the lord of House Butterwell of Whitewalls in exchange for being permitted to bed all three of the lord’s virgin daughters. The Lord accepted the egg, and supposedly Aegon would get all three pregnant that night. The egg remained in House Butterwell’s possession until the lord’s grandson, Ambrose Butterwell, held a tourney in 212AC to celebrate his wedding, with the egg as the coveted prize for the winner. The tourney, however, was merely a cover for those conspiring in the second Blackfyre Rebellion. The plan was for all competing knights to be bribed and lose to Daemon II Blackfyre, disguised as John the Fiddler. Daemon had prophetic dreams of a dragon egg hatching at Whitewalls. With a living dragon at his side, Daemon would be able to take the iron throne from House Targaryen. In the end, the rebellion was a failure, with the hatching egg proving to be a lot more metaphorical. Daemon was arrested and the egg returned to the crown’s custody by Lord Brynden Rivers, aka Bloodraven. (Calling it now: The egg in the upcoming TV series, ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, won’t look anything like this, as none of the eggs have. Watch them just make it Drogon’s egg instead, continuity be damned. Like HotD’s attempt to claim Syrax was the mother of Daenerys’s three dragons.)
AERION “THE MONSTROUS” BRIGHTFLAME:
Like the rest of his brothers, Prince Aerion’s egg was placed in his cradle at birth, as per Targaryen tradition. His looked as if it was “—made of gold and silver, with veins of fire running through it”. I think I speak for everyone when I say it’s a good thing he never had a dragon to bond with. It seems he gave up any hope of a thing the egg, instead meeting his end by drinking the dangerous substance known as Wildfire, thinking it would transform him into a literal dragon. I do have a personal theory that Aerion’s unique sense of style was actually inspired by his egg.
AEGON “EGG” THE UNLIKELY:
Like the rest of his brothers, Aegon V’s egg was placed in his cradle at birth, as per Targaryen tradition. His coloured “—white and green, all swirly.” For years, Aegon became obsessed with dragons and never stopped hoping he’d see them return. Moreso during his reign as king, knowing a living dragon could’ve helped enforce his new reforms and protections for the smallfolk against many contentious lords that opposed him. In 259 AC, Aegon gathered his family and friends at Summerhall to celebrate the upcoming birth of his first great grandchild. There he would make his boldest attempt to hatch seven dragon eggs using Wildfire. Instead, Summerhall, and many members of the Targaryen family, including him, perished in the resulting inferno. Perhaps his own egg was among those seven?

This month’s prompt lead me on a journey of discovery, let me tell you...
I was down to the last week, the last two and a half days, with so many concepts but no idea which thumbnail I wanted to use. After hitting a brick wall and getting so frustrated I nearly chucked something, I had one option left: Just do the most basic lines, then let the paint do all the work. No careful planning or structure, just keep putting paint to paper until something appears. What happened next was not only one of my most interesting pieces yet, but a much needed detox. ‘Stress finally leaving my body, feeling like a whole new artist as I took the pressure off to try something new. My entire mood did a whole 180 in 24 hours.
When I did different studies and textures for the pool water, I had one with pink lines mixed in and thought it was a pity I couldn’t use it. Then I had an idea, with my previous dragon egg pieces still on the brain, I bought these wooden ones, ready to paint. There was some trial and error on medium; inks ran off, oils were okay but I forgot how long they took to dry, then some acrylic paints I had squirrelled away proved to be just right. It was elating! Playing with acrylics again took me back to when I was a little girl, doing Art Attack pape mâché projects at my grandmother’s house.
Since the paints are quick-drying, I did another, going for the billiards meaning for Pool. First was the 11-ball, since this was our 11th prompt. Then the 8-ball would be another fun experience, because I had a packet of 6 paints that were gifted to me - black wasn’t among them. So I had to make my own black using the three primary colours. ❤️💙💛 It blew my mind that it worked, and it just made the result so much satisfying Now I feel a whole new creative side woke-up, and I’m so excited to do more! It’s true what they say, “Creativity is a response to limitation”.

'Magister Illyrio murmured a command, and four burly slaves hurried forward, bearing between them a great cedar chest bound in bronze. When she opened it, she found piles of the finest velvets and damasks the Free Cities could produce . . . and resting on top, nestled in the soft cloth, three huge eggs. Dany gasped. They were the most beautiful things she had ever seen, each different than the others, patterned in such rich colors that at first she thought they were crusted with jewels, and so large it took both of her hands to hold one. She lifted it delicately, expecting that it would be made of some fine porcelain or delicate enamel, or even blown glass, but it was much heavier than that, as if it were all of solid stone. The surface of the shell was covered with tiny scales, and as she turned the egg between her fingers, they shimmered like polished metal in the light of the setting sun. One egg was a deep green, with burnished bronze flecks that came and went depending on how Dany turned it. Another was pale cream streaked with gold. The last was black, as black as a midnight sea, yet alive with scarlet ripples and swirls. "What are they?" she asked, her voice hushed and full of wonder. "Dragon's eggs, from the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai," said Magister Illyrio. "The eons have turned them to stone, yet still they burn bright with beauty."

Since March meant Pancake Tuesday, it made the choice for the theme ‘BREAKFAST’ easy. Serving as a nice companion piece to the bacon and maple syrup one I did three years ago. This time, with my other favourite toppings - Nutella and Strawberries. I’ll admit this amount is too sweet, even for me, but it does make for a better picture.
I have to say, drawing and painting Nutella is nothing like melted chocolate. It’s so thick that it folds in on itself like fabric, not to mention so much of the colour on chocolate is actually reflective light. So it was hard to keep the right balance.
I actually had some trouble with this piece, due to external circumstances making me disillusioned and so the piece got delayed. I even skipped on doing a background for the sake of time. To get through it, I kept telling myself, “Finished is better than perfect.” Plus a recurring compliment I got from other group members was that it looked like they could eat it off the page. If there’s something me and my friends know, it’s that there’s no greater compliment than someone wanting to eat your art - even when it’s not about food.

Just finished customising my door wreath for Easter! It’s been a while since I did a more hands-on art project and I’ve been in such a big spring mood lately; I knew this wreath needed more eggs and more colour to make it perfect for the season. Here’s the before & after:

A birthday gift for my friend, @animathemutant ; With my take on her OC, Anima, as a mermaid; Modelled after a Gunard Lionfish.
The upload is a little late because the original inks were posted to, her along with the rest of her presents. I wasn’t going to upload the finished piece ‘til she got to see the framed line-art firsthand.
This was such a joy to do! I loved working on this design and getting lost in the nautical atmosphere. Now I’m thinking if I didn’t have other obligations, I’d just draw nothings but mermaids in my spare time.
