Being more specific with my answer and adding a good amount of details is something I am struggling with as well. I am trying to look at the questions while having each project we did in the class in mind. Maybe this could be helpful for you!

Original Content Writing 1 - Week 15

Where will you adjust your Content Learning Reflection to strengthen your point?

I plan to add more specific details to the examples I provided to strengthen my point and develop my responses further. I also want to go in and add more examples to my responses to each question to show more variety in my work and writing experiences.

My revision process is something I am proud of as well. I had struggled with revising and this course gave me many opportunities to work on that process. It was also helpful that the professor and our peers were involved in the process. I probably would not have come so far if it weren't for them!

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

In my writing process, I’m most proud of my revision process. Even in the times when I have read back my work after submitting or uploading it and seeing errors in my writing, I am still proud of the times when I went back and read through some of  my larger assignments, like my data analysis project in my final draft where I spent a lot of time reading and rereading the different sections and actively thinking about what I could add or take away or more somewhere else in order to improve the flow of my information

I agree with this statement. I did not know any of this information previous to this class, especially much of the key terms we used. It was very helpful to actually use them within the context of the class and understand them. When I did not understand an assignment right off the bat, the professor was quick to give suggestions and ways to improve an assignment which was helpful and made learning more enjoyable.

What I liked about learning

Due to the topics of this class I struggled to find purpose or direction with some of the assignments, so it was very helpful to learn tips through your feedback on assignments. So I liked that way of learning in this class, especially because you usually went into detail.

Where will you adjust your Content Learning Reflection to strengthen your point?

My biggest struggle right now for a few of my questions is meeting the word requirement. I do not want to ramble on about nonsense to meet the requirement, but i think I tend to not elaborate enough on my point. I think this area is what I need to strengthen the most to make my argument stronger. I am going to try to think about each question more in depth and specifically think about how the class could influence my future career.

What do you like most about your learning?

The thing I like most about learning is actually being able to apply it to the real world because it makes that knowledge more valuable. I personally feel that some college classes do not specifically relate to what your future career is, but this course is different. I will be able to apply the things I have learned in this class to my future career and everyday life as web writing is something we experience on a day to day basis.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

This semester I feel that I had made improvements to my own revision process and I am able to look at my own work and understand what areas need to be revised. I have struggled with the revision process in recent years because my previous college did not stress the importance of it. They gave a close due date to an assignment and it was expected of us to fix things without a specified revision period. With that being said, I am proud that I have fully embraced the revision process this semester and completely understand its importance as I will be using it in the future.

What assignment questions do you have that will help you complete the assignment successfully? 

For the Content Learning Final, I understand that this assignment is supposed to be reflective of the things we have learned in this course and how we will apply these things to our future career. Because it is essentially an interview, do you want us to write our questions and answers out like a conversation prompt or just simply have the question listed followed by the answer?

I personally feel that your announcement may just be too brief for the audience. If I am correct, I believe you are basing this post off of Anne With an E which I have watched and enjoyed. I would suggest maybe making the caption more heartfelt towards the audience so they maybe are not extremely angry at the circumstances. Also, I would try giving the audience something enjoyable to look forward to for the last season. I would include a picture of Gilbert and Anne together! I hope this helps!

This is one of the posts that I made for the design project. Do you think there is anything that I can do to improve my posts?

Ugh! I watched this show when it came out on Netflix and I thought it was so good! I was bummed to hear that it wasn't coming back for another season after ending on a cliff hanger. I especially liked it because both of the main characters were in the IT movie that I had really enjoyed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m a not okay with this, is exactly what I said when I found out this show was cancelled and not getting another season.

This show was amazing, from the casting to the director. Everything was going well for this show, and it was one of the biggest shows on Netflix back in 2020.

It’s a heart wrenching comedy/fiction/drama that just does not end right. Ending with cliff hanger that was teased in episode one! Just to never see the light of day again? Horrible

I watch Outer Banks and had just finished watching the most recent season a few days ago. I do not keep up with Outer Banks on social media so I had no idea the show was only getting one more season. I do find this to be upsetting, but I am aware that for many shows they can only drag it on for so long before it becomes unrealistic and repetitive.

Personally, I have not really experienced the feeling of when my favorite show becomes canceled, but just recently it became public that Outer Banks is only getting one more season and then it will be done forever and seeing that be publicly shared and you witness those fans react in the way that they did. I was able to see the feelings that are shared by fans when they care so much about a specific show and it was an experience that’s for sure. My Instagram feed was filled with people reposting the original post on their stories just to show support and to share their feelings towards this announcement. I assume a lot of us have felt that way, or have experienced others feel that way, which I would love to hear any other specific experiences especially if you were one that did repost Outer Banks, for example.

While I do not specifically have a piece of content that I feel I need peer reviewing, I would like to know If my peers are adding their audience analysis to the final submission. My final project is basically and instagram post template with comments below it and I cannot add my analysis to the top so I was curious what my peers are doing. Maybe I could submit it separately.

Share an example of your favorite television show or movie - how does that show/movie help you work through this project and understand angry fandom?

I love the show New Girl and it was unfortunately cancelled awhile ago. I have hopes that this show will come back as it is something they are currently discussing. I am channeling the anger and frustration I have about them cancelling this show into my project. I know what it feel like to lose a show that you have grown to be attached to, and I am using this to my advantage.

I watched The Walking Dead from the first day that it aired on television to the very last episode. I basically grew up with this show and became very attached to the characters and the storylines they each had. I stuck with the show as they killed characters off and made decisions about which characters leave without dying. I kept up with the actors on social media and made sure I knew when the start to each season was. I was extremely saddened to hear that they were ending the show and dividing the storylines up without giving an official ending to the story. I do not have the time to watch three different shows for these characters I have come to know very well. So, I no longer keep up or watch.

I also find myself reading and responding to posts of my peers that are short and straight to the point. Usually the shorter posts are the ones I can relate to most as well and they are not difficult to understand.

Write a style rule for writing a short tumblr post

A key rule for getting noticed on Tumblr is to keep it simple. Your post really shouldn't be longer than 100 words, at least for me, I don't really want to read longer than that. Accompanying your short post with a picture or meme also helps it get noticed.

I find it interesting that you can watch any podcast that may interest you. I have a hard time watching podcast by people I don't know because I feel I don't really connect with them. I guess it could depend more on the content you like. For example, if you are into true crime you would not need to know too much about the people speaking. However, if you like more of a hot topic podcast where they talk about themselves and surrounding ideas, you might like to know more about the people who are posting!

Q: explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience? #writ318mu  

A:  For myself I enjoy podcasts of things that interest me. I don't normally look to see who’s done the pod-cast just if it sounds interesting. A catchy title can be helpful in that regard. The sharing of information can also help gain attention, people like to learn so new information can catch the eye of someone. In engaging the audience, maybe for an influencer podcast they can read comments left on previous videos or post and talk about said comment.

I agree that is is important to know what is "trending" within the area you typically post in. This will allow you to stay up to date and this content is usually what your audience is looking for at that time and will most likely engage with if they see.

If I had to make up a style rule for TikTok posts, I would say that the rule varies on what your niche as a content creator is. My TikTok "for you" page and all of your TikTok "for you" pages are probably VERY different based on our individual algorithms and whats trending. All different types of TikToks can trend (humor, serious, political, advertisements, etc.) so I believe that in order to make a style rule for yourself, you need to know your niche as a creator first.
