I used to have a theory that lapis is just. lying her ass off. she hates earth, she hates the crystal gems, she hates peridot and the barn and meep morps. She’s manipulating everyone, planning *something*, and now that everyone really trusts her she can do whatever Steven and peridot already blindly trust her regardless of what she does, greg and Connie(?) forgave her, and even tho she’s had about 0 interactions with everyone else I’m pretty sure they’re all cool.

Idk I just thought it’d be a cool direction to take her in, that she’s fully aware of how simplistic and bland and simple she’s acting, and that’s just a diversion. Even her appearance is intentional, I mean she’s just a cute skinny little blue girl in a dress!!! What harm could she do? I never really put enough thought into this for why she’s doing it, maybe waiting for the moment to turn and strike them all down, and it’s got a lot of holes, but it’s doable. She’s shown what she’s capable of with malachite.

But I don’t think the crew is….how do i say…. well, I just think not making lapis into a cold manipulative lying dick was a missed opportunity. Instead, she’s just simplistic and bland and simple, no deep secrets, no hidden evilness. Or who knows.

on one hand im glad to see public apologies frm (some) of the crew but on the other hand they just addressed concrete. not how sugilite is an angry violent black woman stereotype, not how their characters of colors get a backseat to white characters, not how they made a peaceful revolutionary into the enemy and just tossed her aside, not the whole fucking human zoo scenerio, not fucking andy demayo as a concept, and not even the racist amethyst drawings that are literally in the same damn book

It really seems like all the annoying Frozen fans migrated to the SU fandom because I’m literally getting flashbacks.

Like the anti-Frozen tag was created solely for criticizing Frozen. Why? Because Frozen fans were literal nightmares. People sent death threats over this movie. I’m dead serious. Even Frozen fans hated the Frozen fandom. And for like about three years, it stayed that way until they either got tired or grew up. But now? The SU Critical tag exists and it’s because of the same thing.

Like I don’t understand this. You are not a bad fan if you point out the flaws in something. There is nothing wrong with doing that. And acting all high and mighty doesn’t make you look like a good person either. Like just admit that whatever you like has flaws. It’s not that hard.

So I just found a picture of this page within the art book, and I think it’s really weird, reeally REALLY dark, and has some… weird implications, so let’s go through this

Can’t see the name of the first one, but it says

Once again, Lars has his privacy violated by the hell child. I’d also note that there appears to be a Sapphire inside that thing.

The Spyzer Visor

Not entirely sure what to say for this one tbh, it’s just kinda there.

Geminator Rex (bad name)

So there’s confirmation straight from the source that the Diamonds are slave owners, so please stop saying they’re not.

Okay, so this is a homeworld tool used for executions. Clearly Homeworld’s original concept was much more dictator-y than it is now. Which sucks, because The Diamonds really need to be shown as dictators.

This next one is the oddest to me

Corrupted Gem Collar

A collar for controlling corrupted gems on the battlefield

Now, the thing about this is that it means one of two things. 1. Homeworld was originally going to be making use of corrupted gems somehow. Or 2. The Crystal Gems would basically weaponise the corrupted gems. I don’t like either one. It also doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, ‘cause how is that collar going to fit every single corrupted gem?

Gem Disintegrator

A device used to execute accused criminal gems.

Once places inside, the gems are magically pulverised into dust and float in a beautiful but morbid way out of the top

Not… really sure what to make of that one, it just seems super super brutal and dark, as well as a little out of place. I don’t really see the point in it, especially if shattering is a perfectly viable option, but oh well.

the weirdest fucking thing about su though is that literally more than a half of the characters in it are adults yet there are still dumbasses who think it would be better to ship them with the few child characters present in the show for god knows why

r@pe/p3dophilia TW! they officially compared fusion to sex in the book. meaning they officially believe that steven has had the gem equivalent of sex with amethyst and connie, that pearl did the gem equivalent of rape to garnet, and that malachite was somehow two people mutually raping one another. i actually feel ill... like i'm going to fucking cry. how can they be this repulsive?

i feel like they just didnt think things through as usual. like they literally forgot parts of their own canon because that seems like the only way that this could happen

OH is that the one that has both her gems on her eyes? i havent seen any crit of that but maybe im just looking in the wrong places. but yeah if you have a design like that it should be done tastefully, since it seems that the “joke” is that both of her gems are eyes instead of it being used as a cool part of her design

i mean about the porn part most people say that thats a pretty old, invalid receipt since she was a minor and learned not to do that BUT i do get the message youre getting across. i dont think sugar meant to apply it to stevonnie but just having that idea “fusion is gem sex” out there is really dangerous, especially in a fandom like this
