if anyone asked me to explain what happens in 'the potato lab' all I can say is that the male lead is made to suffer every other episode while the female lead is just off to do her hot queen shit things and this entire thing is so damn funny and what made me watch it till the end

drama name : Beyond Evil (2021)
season : 1
my rating : 8.5/10
---------------------
This kdrama is about two policemen Lee Dong Sik and Han Ju Won, who deal with solving a 20 year old murder mystery in a small town and come across more secrets than they were anticipating in the run. You'd think it'd be your typical murder mystery show but it mostly highlights the grief and loss that rots people from inside out and how the innocent suffer in the wake of a person's undeserving death and that was the thing that made me like this show a lot, just the way it humanizes a crime drama and the victims not being reduced to mere numbers. Maybe I consume too many murder mystery media but I kinda predicted who the culprits are gonna be but eh I still had a lot of fun watching this, just the found family feels from the friend circle and their regular dinner get together to the homoerotic tension between the two leads (lmao). They dragged it out a bit in the last few episodes but it wasn't bad enough to make me quit and everything and the acting is so good ?? the way they make you think that they might be the culprit and make you suspicious of everyone to slowly falling in love (with the leads) with how human they are (i love their chemistry). The plot twists at the end of every ep was a nice way to make me continue watching it pfft and I really hope I get another mini episode of just the leads getting together to solve another case mhmm.

So there's a young man with a promising career in a field connected with law. And an older guy with a tragic past who is suspected of having killed his sibling. Instead of doing what other people do in his age, the younger one decides to prove than the older one is evil. So he starts working with him, spends a lot of time at his house, basically emotionally tortures him into confessing. But poor little guy gets tortured too while doing so and soon both of them are depressed and deeply in love with each other. And when the older guy, who's done some bad things but is not a murderer, gets some punishment for it, the younger one, instead of being happy about achieving his goal, is crying, shaking, throwing up and ready to risk everything for the older one. And at the end, after everything they've been through together, these idiots part their ways.
Now am I talking about The Devil Judge or Beyond Evil?
#stawp I kept saying the homoerotic tension between the leads reminds me of when I watch the devil judge#oof the trope never fails#i need more#the devil judge#beyond evil

drama name : The King of Pigs (2022)
season : 1
my rating : 10/10
--------------------
this kdrama... idk how to begin or to tell you abt the story cuz THE UNRELIABLE NARRATION this has that made way to so many plot twists and misunderstandings ?? from what I assumed in the begin, this story is abt two childhood besties who got bullied a lot in middle school and now 20 years later one of them is a serial killer and the other is a policeman trying to hunt him down. The story is so good and the flashbacks were so well placed and it revolves around a person who's already dead but whose story made me love him and cry for him at the same time. This kdrama will make you feel bad for the wrong people, questions all your assumptions and leave you feeling shocked and emo at the same time. ALSO THE ENDING ??? WAS SO FITTING BUT SAD AT THE SAME TIME i still don't know how to feel but it's over now and this might be one of the best revenge kdramas I ever seen. I love it so much there's so many trigger warnings tho so keep them in mind before watching it.

drama name : Celebrity (2023)
season : 1
my rating : 9.8/10
--------------------
oh what should I say abt this, this was just SO GOOD ?? the story shows the life of Seo Ari and how she goes on her journey to become an internet celebrity and at first I was like "okay this is gonna be like an underdog to topdog but in influencer terms story" but I was SO wrong and I'm glad I was cuz this kdrama shows the dark side of internet, how networking works and what goes on behind the scenes and it starts with Ari being on live after everyone thinks she's de@d and tells the entire story and how it took a dark turn and there were plot twist after plot twist, the storyline is so unpredictable in the end even tho it didn't seem like it in the beginning and I love it so much. Ari is such a badass and relatable I love protagonists like her so much, there was a romantic side plot to this but I didn't pay that much attention to it tbh. In the end this reminded me a bit of 'the glory' and yeah this is going to my "fav kdramas of 2023" list, I binge watched it cuz it def has that "what's gonna happen next" and I'm so impressed.

drama name : Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022)
season : 1
my rating : 9/10
--------------------
This is so gonna be my comfort show cuz woo young woo is so relatable and cute and I wanna give her the whole world. This drama is about a girl who has autism spectrum disorder but she didn't let it be in the way of her dreams and continues to be her unapologetic self (ugh I love her) . This drama also shows the discrimination and prejudice people have when it comes to those who suffer with mental problems and stuff. What I love about this one is that young woo never lets those judging words get to her and fully accepts all her flaws with a smile. As she's an attorney we also get to see her showing how much of a genius she is in every episode. There's also a side story going about young woo and her family history besides the court cases which was very interesting. It was adorable to watch her gush over whales and dolphins every chance she gets without giving a fck about anyone and I'm so glad the male lead is the greenest flag (he's a green forest) to ever exist in this kdrama world (need me a man like him fr) . I'm gonna rewatch it again and again just for them and I really hope they make the s2 with the same casting cuz I love all of the characters in this show. Also wanna add that the osts are so beautiful ??? so many of the scenes felt so magical cuz of the osts and I love every single one of them (have it saved in my playlist heheh)

drama name : The Judge from Hell (2024)
season : 1
my rating : 9/10
--------------------
ah yes who doesn't like to see women committing violence and taking revenge on those who deserve it ? I'm a huge fan of it tbh. This is a story about Justitia, who is punished to go on earth and k word 20 unforgivable criminals and send them back to hell but she possesses the body of Kang Bitna who is also a judge who presides over the criminal cases. The story follows the journey of Kang Bitna who never gives a deserving verdict to the criminals and instead makes them feel exactly how they made their victims feel and it's just so satisfying ???? This also follows the story of officer Han Daon who's been suspicious of her since day 1 and tries his best to catch her red handed (spoiler they instead fall in love lmao). There's also the concept of how hell works with its demons and their ranks. So yeah if you like court dramas mixed with mysterious criminal activities and fantasy elements (literally my three fav genres combined ohmygawd this kdrama was made for me) I would definitely recommend this drama to you. For me personally, I LOVED the cast and the character development and their acting and the storyline and all the plot twists and the fluff and comedy in between (I still wish there was a plot twist at the end but it's okay not everything can be perfect) but yeah this is the type of drama that you can't help but binge watch and that's exactly what I did and I'm in love.

drama name : Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale (2024)
season : 1
my rating : 8.5/10
--------------------
okay y'all this is THE ROM-COM OF THE YEAR for me gosh it's been a while since a kdrama made me laugh and then kick my feet cuz of all the fluff in the same episode they're so fcking adorable (shoutout to lee junyoung for looking so intimidating and then smiling the cutest smile that makes my day, truly the deserving male lead). This is the story of Shin Jaerim who dreams of being a cinderalla, for a rich man to fall in love with her and marry her and then her having all the love and money she wants so she decides to work at Cheongdam Heaven which is run by Moon Chamin who hates that cinderalla dream but still tries to help his employee out. From day one, everything's a disaster ohmygawd they're so unserious sometimes (i loved every single second of it ngl) this kdrama had all the good rom-com clich茅s you can think of and gawd I really missed watching a rom-com kdrama that was rom-cominggg. I'll definitely recommend you to watch it if you want to watch a classic rom-com with lots of comedy or if you're a first time kdrama watcher.

drama name : The Uncanny Counter (2020)
season : 1
my rating : 9/10
--------------------
Okay so this is going to be on my top ten kdrama list. This drama has a mystery thriller genre with a bit (a lot) of magic by its side that will keep you on your edge of the seat. It's a hidden gem and there is humour, action (lots of it), angst, and the power of friendship to back it up. The counters are basically some random chosen people who were given superpowers to fight the evil spirits that possess any human being and make them its host. Not only that, they get involved in the corrupt political drama which goes so well with the concept. I loved every single bit of it although there is no romance between any of the leads but you get the heart melting moments because of the found family trope which was really sweet. There is a lot of violence too cuz you know, they are fighting evil spirits and the most of them are like so fcked in the head, idk why they censor the blood, gore and knife when the killing itself is so brutal sometimes. I also love how each of the counter learns something very important in life throughout the series and have that character growth. I got so emotionally attached to the drama and you will be too cuz their acting was so on top that I was on the verge of crying whenever there is a sad scene. It also shows the grief people feel when their loved ones leave the world and how a small beam of hope can turn you so determined and powerful, and you feel all these emotions like fondness, frustration, anxiety, and pride throughout the episodes.
