Does anyone know the name of that Gruvia fanfic where Gruvia have a son and Ezra tells Gray that he has to leave for a job/mission but then it takes longer than expected and so when he returns, Juvia is PISSED and Gray doesn’t know what to do to get her to forgive him?

It apparently needs to be said again. SNK is not ruined and this chapter was important and it *was thought out* and the way it uses the same line from all the way back in chapter 1′s “See you later, Eren” scene is literally evidence of this.

Of course the official translations aren’t even out, so to get the whole clear picture people should be waiting. But the scene of Mikasa kissing Eren’s decapitated head is not “disgusting, horrible, ruined her character, ruined the chapter, terrible writing, god forbid fanservice, necrophilia”, etc. etc. The amount of disrespect that is going on is honestly ridiculous.

Let me just say, I don’t ship Eren/Mikasa. At all, never have, never will. And I don’t think this “confirms” canon relationship anything, but also? SNK has never been that kind of story to begin with so whether or not Eren returns her feelings doesn’t even matter at this point. For the record, I also am not a huge Mikasa stan, I’m just pretty indifferent towards her.

But narratively, Mikasa loved Eren, she always has, so for her to kiss the person that means so much to her goodbye? It’s literally equivalent to watching your loved one dying, their pulse stopping and their last breath fading away, and in that next moment you kiss them goodbye. Goodbye before you mourn, before you “actually” let them go, before whatever happens to their remains. That. Is. Not. Necrophilia. (Btw, necrophilia definition per google is literally “sexual intercourse with or attraction towards corpses”).

I feel like people are reading WAY too much into this kiss and thinking of it in a way too “shipping” way. Again, SNK is not that kind of story (never has been)! So can we please look at this from a non-shipping POV (whether you ship them together or not)?

Eren means something to her, she had to kill him. Imagine having to kill the person you loved almost all your life? That “kiss” is not even about “Mikasa finally got to kiss her crush finally!!” way or as some are looking at it “wow Mikasa can only kiss Eren now because he’s dead and he can’t stop her”, it’s about her saying goodbye. Her closure, her coming to terms that yes she finally had to accept that she had to kill Eren, her best friend, the boy who saved her, to stop this war. Even if they grew distant post-time skip and she didn’t understand him or his actions and Eren pushed her away and told her “he hated her”, the point here is that it doesn’t matter, he is still important to her. And she played her role in doing what she had to.

Again, relating back to my last chapter post, the characters in SNK are playing their role. This time, it’s Mikasa’s turn. She’s finally accepted it and come to terms that she has to kill Eren to stop this war and she does. And yes, it’s tragic, having *her* who has always opposed killing Eren, going through with it. So also yes, she’s deserves to say goodbye even in the midst of the war. Her kissing Eren goodbye isn’t “fanservice”, isn’t out of time out of place because they’re at war…it’s literally just her being human, saying goodbye.

(Also just to touch on that “dream/vision” whatever it was between Mikasa and Eren running away in a cottage, there’s a lot to think about. I don’t know for sure obviously, but I like to think in paths they explore every single alternate universe like literally every single scenario that could happen and maybe this is one of those.)

And on an un-related note, but with everything else going on – aka Jean & Connie as titans, can we just remember that there is one more chapter? There is still time for more thoughts, more details, more explanation, more time for this to be wrapped up. I also believe Ymir will have a role, because her watching all this time probably isn’t nothing? I don’t think every single question will be answered, but I also don’t believe that they’ll end with just everyone as titans. I can’t wait for the next chapter, but most of all, this is not god forbid apparently, the worst and most popular comparison yet, “GOT”.
