Toji's reunion with his [unknowing] son, Megumi, will always be so emotional in this scene because whenever I see that look of surprise yet sorrow he has, I always think of a few things;

He was shocked to even see his own son, let alone fight him (accidentally).

How much Megumi looks like his wife.

He was surprised Gojo *actually* did something about Megumi being almost sent off to the Zen'in Clan. I truly believe Toji did love Megumi as his son, after all he was the one to name him, and he named him "blessings" (Megumi). Toji didn't know how to raise a child properly, and knowing he didnt even have the money to, he sold him off to the Zen'in. His intentions most likely weren't to make him endure the same abuse as him.

In Toji's final words he said "I'm glad" to Megumi being recognized as a Fushiguro. because Toji never was.

not even when he changed his name to Fushiguro. he died as Fushiguro but was forever known as Zen'in.

Everyone, outside of the Zen'in Clan, and the Zen'in Clan, only recognized Toji as Zen'in, even Shiu, even though Toji told Shiu he inherited/took his wife's name.

Toji was never able to truly escape the Zen'in Clan, even til the day he died. Megumi did, the only people who knew were the Zen'in clan, Satoru Gojo, and some of the higher ups at Jujutsu High.
