something that made me sad today was that if you look for obvious cracks in his persona as ciel phantomhive, you can easily find it, which made it all the more heartbreaking when people didn’t realise that ciel wasn’t the twin that came back. if people had noticed the younger son just a little bit more, it would be less difficult to tell that he wasn’t actually ciel but people didn’t bother to entertain the thought that ciel’s brother would survive because they didn’t care about him if it meant ciel was alive 👍

This might be my favorite cover color wise. It's very pleasing to look at, as the blues balance out the usual heavy red background. And Catherine's color palette is so pretty? Now I understand why she's in charge of the succubus.

Thing's starting to make sense, like why Satan's wife received the worst punishment. Satan was the one to plant the seed of doubt into the angels. And if Lilith was his motivation, then she was the indirect cause of the rebellion. She would have been the start of the sin of treachery against God.

Lilith being the reason behind his big grand evil plan is the most plausible theory, but Satan having been a little shit from the start is way more fun. Like brat was a menace just for shits and giggles and meeting his wife later (if she's not Lilith) just made him worse. It's honestly funnier that way......

My biggest problem with Kpop Demon Hunters (as a Korean)

While we're on the subject of quick hot takes without any further explanation : how much do I detest the fact that some ignoramus(es) used "napalm era" in an otherwise culturally sensitive movie?

Except it tracks with the way Korea (still) treats its involvement in the Vietnam War, including its use of Vietnamese comfort women (resulting in Lai Đại Hàn) and its current "phenomenon" (written with a lip curl of disgust) of importing Vietnamese women as wives... Considering the fact we've never paid reparations, I have a visceral recoil any time that song is played and I see people lipsyncing that line without a single emotion except for adoration.

Okay 2nd problem is also how everyone and their mother is suddenly a Korea expert and has been correcting me or posting inaccurate shit and then mansplaining Korea back at me 🙃 So far, I've seen a bunch of people claim that Derpy is a cat, I corrected one and had the time to explain that it's a traditional tiger and magpie reference called hojakdo, then someone was like *jakhodo

...except it's Hanja and goes by both 호작도 *and* 작호도 per multiple sources in Korean 🙃

I really loved most of the movie when it came out but between the two issues above, I am starting to regret that it became so fucking popular.

Lucifer was mentioned by his fellow lords twice before his debut and one of them is Beelzebub so he is seen as Lucifer's best buddy and they have their flashback moments and all but like, Belphegor named his son after Lucifer. You can't tell me Luca was named without Lucifer in mind, consciously or unconsciously.

I love the theory that Satan is Azazel, but thinking back it wouldn't have made sense for his wife to be Lilith then, unless Aruma Arima said screw the timeline and made a copium amount of retcons to merge the girl Azazel fell for (who in the Book of Enoch is described as "daughter of man" aka descendant of Adam) and the first woman (aka Adam's first wife).

Like it need at least an entire arc full of backstories to make a coherent timeline at this point.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Satan and his wife and their parallel to Priest and Imuri because, Imuri's dad having clear similarities to Priest with "destined nemesis" to boost and his love story being the base of Imuri's fantasy (I'm on the Satan=Azazel boat) means that her mom will have something as interesting going on right? Well yes her character will be closer to Imuri's, like how Satan's has more parallel to Priest's, but since these two sides often intertwine with each other I figure Priest might have some kind of relationship with or bare a resemblance to Satan's wife?

Lucifer's smile is so full of excitement, maybe it's because he sees himself in Priest, maybe Priest succeeding him is something he's been anticipated and is right about, maybe this is something he does not expect and for the first time in eternity he can feel emotions other than the boredom of knowing the full script, maybe it's all of the above.

Spirits stay the same age when they died but it's still funny Yukine falls for his surrogate dad's older sister. Judging by their spirit age Nora is much much older than Yukine, she's had consciousness for a thousand years and while Yukine existed as a pure spirit for 50 years he only gained awareness recently. But since they're dead they don't really mature past the age when they died, technically Nora is not even born yet and Yukine is fifteen. So Yukine is actually much much older than Nora......
