SUMOMO-DIARY : 2014-2024 Sumomo-Diary began on March 20, 2014 and the photo taken on January 29, 2014 was the first post. My daily routine was to take pictures of Sumomo, organize them, and post them in Sumomo-Diary I photographed Sumomo from September 29, 2014 to January 25, 2021, every day except when my camera broke down in February 2016. After that, I was away from photography for a while due to illness. After I recovered from my illness, I photographed her again almost daily from September 25, 2021 to November 25, 2024, although I took fewer pictures. Equipment used CANON EOS Kiss X7 (2014.1 - 2016.2, 2016.11-2024.4) CANON EOS Kiss X7i (2016.2 - 2024.4) CANON EOS 9000D (2017.9 - 2024.2) CANON EOS Kiss X10 (2020.6 - 2021.10) CANON EOS R50 (2024.5 - 2024.12) CANON EOS R100 (2024.5 - 2024.11) Kiss X7, 9000D, R50 were used mainly outdoors Kiss X7i, Kiss X10, R100 were used mainly indoors Kiss X7 and 9000D have been repaired several times. Also, KISS X7 has been repurchased once or twice. These cameras were used exclusively for photographing Sumomo, except for the first half of 2014. This photo was taken before she was named Sumomo. I believe this is from September 23, 2007, although I am not certain as I have no record of it. My wife and I met her in Kichijoji (吉祥寺), Tokyo and fell in love at first sight and decided to welcome her into our family on September 24. At that time, we named her Sumomo (すもも).

Then, on October 4, 2007, Sumomo became a family member.

We lived very happily for 17 and a bit years.

2007.8.10 - 2024.11.25 Lived to the age of 17 years and 3 months.

She was my partner, my best friend and my precious daughter. She brought me a huge amount of happiness and joy.

Rest in Peace, I love you, Sumomo.

2024.11.28 Thu. We had her funeral at a temple called Jikeiin (慈恵院). She was cremated and mourned in the presence of Sumo-family. Subsequently we returned home with her remains around 16:00.

The Last Five Days of Sumomo 2024.11.21 Thu. Dawn of November 20th, Sumomo vomited and did not eat for the rest of the day. So Sumomama took her to the hospital the morning of the 21st. She was then admitted to the hospital for IV therapy until the hospital closed. It was from 9:00 to 17:00. 2024.11.22 Fri. Sumomo was admitted to the hospital on a day trip for IV therapy. It was from 9:00 to 18:30. 2024.11.23 Sat. Sumomo was admitted to the hospital on a day trip for IV therapy. It was from 9:00 to 17:00. 2024.11.24 Sun. Sumomo was admitted to the hospital on a day trip for IV therapy. It was from 9:00 to 17:00. 2024.11.25 Mon. Sumomo was admitted to the hospital on a day trip for IV therapy. It was from 9:00 to 18:30. I and Sumomama picked Sumomo up and we went home. Subsequently we spent our time keeping an eye on her safety. Sumomo passed away due to severe kidney failure and senility on November 25, 2024 at 23:27.
