He couldn't lie. Optimus knew of mechs that had more questionable motives that operated under the Autobot banner, but Optimus had done everything he could to weed them out-- even if they needed more servos to help in the war, Optimus refused to have those that would ignore the cries of help from their people for their own gain or satisfaction.

Then, it clicked for him. This mech was from another universe. Was this what his other selves ALLOWED?

This was not a mech Optimus had ever run into before.

Many mechs he'd faced were undoubtedly brutal-- but this? This was something that reminded him of Infernocus, of the almost sickly sweet rot that had coated Quintessa's words that were thinly veiled with a false kindness-- his optics widened at the other mech. However...

... He couldn't back down. He needed to be strong. He must stay brave. He pulled at the Sword of Judgement attached to his back, parts of his arm's plates now transforming to form that familiar shield. He slowly ex-vented. Calm yourself, and breathe, Optimus. Yet, what Optimus couldn't help but wonder was... was this mech a Decepticon? He certainly acted like one.
