Ok it’s time for me to finally reveal the designs/”story” I’ve been sitting on for over a year. I’m putting this all under the cut cause it’s going to end up really long. All characters I’ve shown here and under the cut are free game for asks.

So, the idea behind this story was supposed to be that while Sundog and Echo searched for their missing kid, whose species they didn’t know, both parties would end up running into uncannily familiar Eeveelution hybrids. Eventually at the climax, when Sundog and their son were to be reunited, it would be revealed that the previously-met hybrids were Sundog’s missing family.

Sila (she/her) was a wild Eevee who met and fell in love with Dana (she/they), a Diancie. Somehow the two ended up with seven children, who they loved very much. One day a group of passing trainers happened upon the family and captured most of them, leaving Sundog and Dana behind. Dana would go off to search for her family, and assuming Sundog had also been among the group, would unintentionally leave them behind. Sundog would then grow up alone in their family’s cave, developing agoraphobia as a result. Their siblings would develop close relationships with their respective trainers and evolve with them (all except Mens Rea, Sundog’s twin, who was the first to evolve because of the friendship between the two young siblings).

This backstory was meant to be revealed as Sundog+the baby traveled separately across Kalos, with extremely obvious hints revealing the connection between Sundog and their siblings. Along the way, the baby would discover their moves, typing, and ability, and also be revealed to be a hybrid as well. Sundog and their siblings would not recognize one another despite their oddly similar upbringings, at least until they all met at the home of their mother Sila and her trainer. Sila would break down upon realizing her family was finally back together, and would evolve into Sylveon because of her love for her children. Somewhere along the way Sundog would also meet Peony, their younger half-sister, and Dana would reunite with the family as well. Echo would also name the baby unintentionally by mentioning “the smell of ire” they had followed to find him. Though everyone lived far apart, they would be happy knowing they were all safe and would wish each other well before returning home, promising to visit again soon.

Aaand below we’ve got the original designs for the siblings+their mothers, the trainers, Dana and Peony’s designs, and a miscellaneous Monty doodle because she was the first one I made and I loved the design lol. I really love the human designs and wish I had the energy to draw them all out, but I wouldn’t be opposed to including them in response drawings. Poppy was the only one I ever fully drew and colored 😭

Would you guys hate me if I just, completely dropped the comic and went back to semi-regular posting? Like, I was considering just posting all the unique designs I made, completely spoiling the plot I had vaguely laid out, and then just being done with it. As much as I’d love to complete it, it’s obvious I’m not yet ready for a project like this and I want to get back to actually drawing these characters
