Wrote this to myself a year ago and now looking at it and feeling that this is what I needed whenever you loose people who thought would be by your side always. Posting it here so that I come back and read it everytime I get that feeling of abandonment.
" A tough night but a big lesson, never go back to the place that disrespected your feelings and broke you. God gives you multiple signs to let it go and move one but you always choose it at the end. Nevertheless God loves you baby he wants ur good so he needs to hurt you - To make you stronger to overcome situations where you have no choice but to choose silence yes you are a coward for not being like others , for not taking advantage of the situation and behaving the way you want cause you are you , and you always will be girl, pat yourself that no matter how much dirty and toxic it goes you held up your morals and the way you deal with things. I am so proud of you that you broke down still chose your stance and never got influenced. I am so proud you tried your best to keep things together to consider others feelings and trying to hold onto relationships. But my girl you can't have peace in a place where your emotions are not valued. This was the only way you could realise it and I hope this was a lesson you needed to come out of your delusion that everyone cares for you. No one does my girl hold on to the things you love as they were with you forever, others are temporary and they will always be. Chin up! set backs are part of life. You can only rise up when you are in the bottom you will fly high with people you deserve you don't need to beg for understanding, things will come and go what remains is ur feelings and morals."

Some pairings are so magical they give the same butterflies even after years. I guess 14th october is kind of their day, cause ending up giving us content for both 2023 and 2024 is not NORMAL;!!!!

I have so much to thank Haein and Somin for. No matter what criticisms come for Love Next Door , I will always hold them close to my heart , more for the way Haessom have loved and given their hearts to the character.
Promotions, pr bla bla bla whatever all I have seen is pure comfort between them. The way they have enjoyed the shooting, and airing of the drama- the cast , crew and the characters. You can say they are the #1 fans of this show. Not for some promotion or things, they don't need that. It's out of love for the show and their bond.
You may say it as exaggeration , but been watching kdramas since long- I haven't seen this much of fun, content, pics coming out from a single drama. From BTS to pics to everything- they have enjoyed each of the process that's why it translated to us. We could feel how much they love the show. And how much they loved each other's company.
You may say it wasn't the best of the dramas , but the pairing is definitely the best of the bests I don't care much who denies it. All I have is love for both of them - for sharing us the steps of each path in their journey of this show. We TRUELY felt like being part of the making. And I would thank them for serving us with so much of love. Even if people have one line of hate to write about them- I wish you luck because I know they will always have a special place for this drama in their hearts. And I will always remember this part of everything.
And they will really be that iconic, trendsetter pairings we will remember for long.

Sometimes you do not need "extravagant" confessions of love , specially when you have known someone from years. Yet for someone who fails to express his words the right way- these two scenes and the words of affirmation by Seunghyo just hits right in the heart.
There's always been a "love" between them no matter in what form . But to have one person encompass so many part of your life is just a "I LOVE YOU" enough? They have loved each other as friend, neighbours, family and found each other on all situations standing by each other. A love can't really hold so many moments and relationships together.
I love the way of affirming that the love is not new it's not happened over night it was always there, what's changed is the way you look at it.

They said it was a scene in heaven and they weren't wrong , cause how can a kissing scene be this beautiful? The setting, color pallette, and the atmosphere with the right ost. Everything just fits in perfectly. Oh god I am screaming!!!

The weight of unspoken words : Seung-hyo's pov.
It’s easy to see Seunghyo as mean and petty—turning away when he saw her with someone else, ghosting her when she needed him. But this situation isn’t that simple. The silent agony of watching the one person who means everything to you slip away.
From childhood, he was her confidant, always knowing all of her firsts. His feelings for her grew over time, but he never spoke them aloud. How could he? Risking their friendship—the one thing that grounded him—felt too dangerous. So he stayed silent, loving her in ways she might never see.
When she moved to the USA, everything changed. He visited her once, only to hear she had a boyfriend. The second time, he saw them together. It wasn’t just seeing her with someone else—it was realizing that maybe his chance had passed, that everything they shared was just a chapter in her life she had moved beyond or maybe he was too late, what if he confessed his feelings before she left- would things have been different?
So, he just turned around and left as if moving away from her life.
Yes, he ghosted her after that. It may seem cruel, but how do you continue when your heart is shattered? He had always been there for her, always giving, but in that moment, he felt like he had nothing left to offer. To watch her build a life without him was too painful to bear, so he chose distance. It was self-preservation, not malice.
What he didn’t know was that she was recovering from cancer at the time. In his mind, she had moved on, happy with someone else. In reality, she was fighting a battle he couldn’t even imagine. Learning the truth later broke him—not just from regret, but because he hadn’t been there when she needed him most.
As he has already confessed, his emotional outburst was a bit complicated with everything mixing up into one another. The feelings he’s buried for so long, the love he carried in silence, have finally come out. The ghosting wasn’t out of anger or jealousy; it was the only way he knew how to survive the loss.
To those who think he was being mean—he wasn’t. He’s human. He loved deeply, but in silence. When he thought he’d lost her, it broke him in ways that words can’t capture.

The moment we remove the "oh so perfect" scale to measure the leads it's not difficult to understand Seunghyo and why he did that. Calling him mean and petty is the last thing I expect from the viewers but then fiction is meant to be grasped as you like so can't say much about it. But saying her ex was better than him makes no sense because what they had is already done- he also made mistakes , if you give him the room and sympathy do the same for Seunghyo too. Anyways glad some people get Seunghyo the way he is.
Honestly have no idea why people are so mad with CSH. Do I like the shouting? Of course not, but that’s how the two of them talk to each other. We see it when he injured his leg and she shouts at him. I’m glad she called him out on it though. And I’m also glad he shared with her why he was so angry.
People getting upset with him cos he didn’t answer/reply her texts really don’t know what it’s like to get over a crush/love huh. It was obviously not mean spirited. He needed to draw his lines and not answer/call/message her, whatever it takes to get over his feelings. It was bad timing for him to choose to do that then, but seeing her with another guy was probably the last straw for him and so he did what he had to for himself. I do not think that that is being a bad friend or that he was unhappy for her or anything…he just needed time to settle his feelings (cos it’s not her problem, it’s his. So he needs to manage it first, no?)
We, the audience, saw what was happening at that same time with SR. That’s why we feel bad for her and we’re all like, he should have been there! And yes, of course I’d have loved if he was there. But that’s how life works sometimes - bad timing.

Is it just me, or was episode 10 like really healing?
We've got the truth finally coming out re Seok Ryu's cancer, her parents waking up and realising how shitty they've been towards her, Seung Hyo pointing out that Seok Ryu was always there for him and he wants to do the same for her, plus him pushing her to let it out instead of bottling all her feelings up, Seok Ryu and her ex saying a proper goodbye and letting each other go and so soo many tears from everyone (including me).
Idk I just feel like this worked out better than I expected. I was expecting another week of angst and pain between episodes, so this is deffs better.
I'm probs gonna rewatch tbh...

listen no romcom is a romcom without angst. running through the airport to stop beloved from boarding their flight? happened because of some angst. watching your crush who also liked you get together with someone else because you didn't confess sooner? textbook romcom moment filled with angst. declaring objection at your love's marriage or asking them to run away with you? angst. romcom is not romcom without angst because angst shows you care and that's the essential part of romance the com is just to make the angst bearable. as long as the angst is resolved and everything ends on a happy note it's a romcom (twenty five twenty one was never one) , don't confuse romcom with fluff

Love next door is not a poorly written show. Lemme scream it , the writer had flaws in some scenes true. But the characters are not shallow please. It is actually a very well written show.
If you are siding with either Seukryu or Seunghyo after every scene it means that as a viewer you need more grasping skills.. cause clearly ep 9 and 10 were more than just pointing out who is right and who is wrong. Was she wrong? Maybe to some part and maybe not , was he wrong? Maybe to some part and maybe not . Was the ex wrong? Maybe to some part and maybe not .
We need to understand the dynamics of the characters , the reason the writer took 8 episodes to build that narrative right? Her illness is not a misfit plot- because that drives her reason of returning to Korea. She was rude yesterday, yes, but that's her idea of caring for her closed ones. Seunghyo was the first person whom she wanted to express, but he did ghost her at that time, but can you blame him? No . He should have been there as a friend but he saw her moving ahead in her life , he thought tangling to her is not the right thing to do- the timing was off, but that doesn't make him a wrong person. Similarly Seokryu expecting him to be there is not selfish.
Their reactions were animated, exaggerated, immature, ignorant and expressive. It's because he wanted to be part of her bad times . He had his own family trauma, but she was always his comfort, he wanted her to lean on him. He was shaken that she didn't trust him enough for that, she did have her reasons but he has his reasons too. As a viewer can't we see them completely as characters , characters who have been part of each other's life forever, their expectations and reactions might not follow regular lines and behaviours.
This drama deserves to be perceived well. It has a lot of depth- and gave the characters a lot of space to make mistakes, be confused, be miserable and still hold on to what they want. We are finally back to the happy side and thats what why the darkness was needed.
