but they want to take it slow, they don’t wanna jump into having sex, so they also kind of don‘t know how to go on from here because… they live together and they just had their first date

so eddie just grabs two beers from the fridge, sits down on the couch next to buck and proceeds to tell his best friend buck about this amazing date he was on and how he thinks that this was his last first date ever, and that he wants to marry the man he was on a date with because this is it for him

and buck tells his best friend eddie that that’s funny because he also was just on a date with this amazing man and he also thinks this was the man he‘s gonna spend the rest of his life with

Imagine Chimney going through Bobby's desk in his office. Having to clear personal things out. It breaks his heart, but also warms him because the captain was sentimental.

Then he comes across a small blue book labeled simply "Buck." Curious, he opens and flips through it.

Kid has eating problems. Will forget to eat when stressed. Feed him, and encourage him to cook, because he likes to taste-test a lot.

Chimney remembers that. Buck mentioning getting so hungry the starving pains go away. He does remember during the shitty times when Buck lost so much weight.

-Probably allergic to shellfish and mangos. Encourage him to get an allergy test

-Allergic to heavy fragrance laundry detergents. Use gentle.

-Remind him he's doing a great job. Use positive reinforcement.

-If he's depressed, as Maddie says, hand him a child. May and Harry work too.

-He's finally gaining weight! :)

-The Buckley parents are banned. Do not ask why. Firehouse is his safe area.

-He fidgets when he's stressed. Have him chop some vegetables or prepare them for you. He loves being helpful.

-He loves his clipboard. Have him organize important events. Give him gold stars. Do not let Hen and Chimney hide it. He gets sad.

-Remind him not to read too close or in the dark. He's gonna need glasses at this point. (If he does, don't let others tease him. Tell him he looks great)

-He doesn't admit it, but his leg still bothers him. Heating blankets are in the closet in the office. Have Eddie massage his leg or send him home early if he's obviously struggling.

Chim laughs. He laughs, and laughs, and starts to cry. Of all things, he did not expect to find a "How to Take Care of Your Buck" guide hidden away in Bobby's desk.

oh but after they get married and buck officially changes his last name to diaz, eddie cuddles buck close and does something he’s been plotting for ages - calling back to their first conversation and asking buck ‘do people ever call you diaz?’

which just makes buck’s heart flutter because yeah, people will be calling him diaz now :)

(truthfully he doesn't respond to diaz because he is just so flustered when people call him that, for like a good year or so)

I see your Bobby Nash waking up in a government lab and I raise you the 118 doing something ridiculous that makes national news, cut to an Amnesiac Bobby Nash waiting tables at a diner in Nevada or something, seeing them on the television, and going "fuck, i think that might be my circus"

Buck telling Eddie that he doesn’t need to worry, he’s going to get over Eddie. And Eddie kind of blue screening because he had no idea there was anything for Buck to get over. And Buck takes Eddie’s silence as rejection so he leaves.

But then Eddie shows up at Buck’s new apartment and he says “don’t.” And Buck says “don’t what?” And Eddie says “don’t get over me.” And he takes Buck’s face in his hands and kisses him. Then it’s Buck’s turn to blue screen because he never in his wildest dreams thought Eddie could ever feel the same way.

the idea of buck's love confession being the most casual thing in the world. just alluding to it in a regular conversation, because, well, he assumed eddie already knew. eddie knows him better than anyone.

"maddie already knew! christ, tommy already knew, and you—are you biting me, you freak?—you're telling me you didn't know? do you know anything about me? when's my birthday, hm? what's my—shut up, don't laugh at me—what's my blood type? fuck, eddie, you can't kiss your way out of this, that's not f—eddie."

Bobby and Athena have the funniest meet-cute ever. She shows up to a crime scene, he hands her a chicken and walks away. Then they both separately break into the same burn out building bc they both have a hunch it was arson. Meant to be.

the only thing i would accept other than buddie roommates is buck and athena roommates

buck, a fully grown 32 (?) year old, moving in with his mother figure, athena who thought she had an empty nest having to deal with that kid

and it turns out to be really cute because actually athena, in a unpredictable and probably grief fueled manner, loves being mother hen to her buckaroo and buck revels in that motherly love

buck cooks for athena which helps her heal that bobby shaped hole in her heart, athena looks after buck and packs him a healthy breakfast for work which just makes buck cry on the inside, they talk about bobby when no one else will talk about him and share fond memories

and she is genuinely concerned when buck doesn’t come home at night because he spends so much time at eddie’s place (she clocks their situation really, really fast and ends up being a massive catalyst for buddie to finally get it together and is a bit sad when buck moves back in with eddie)

the cuteness is just elevated like tenfold when buck babysits jee at their place and athena, in addition to getting to be a mother hen, also loves to be a grandmother hen - they color together and bake together, just the three of them, and athena loves her jee cuddles almost as much as buck

even when buck moves back in with eddie and chris, they make it a point to have at least one night per week just the two of them, athena and buckaroo, it’s almost like they can feel bobby’s spirit wrap itself around them when they’re together and it really heals something in both of them

(plus they genuinely love each other, buck adores the stories athena tells him from her days as a rookie and athena thinks buck is a lot smarter than people give him credit for)

I like to imagine Chris had two friends in Texas who were dating and were CONSTANTLY texting and FaceTiming each other to the point where even though they had different lunch periods the one would sneak out of class to FaceTime the other.

and I like to imagine Chris would come home from school to his Dad’s house and see Eddie and Buck CONSTANTLY texting and FaceTiming each other.
