How to Cope with Social Anxiety
1. Realize that you’re not alone. The reality is that most of us worry about the same kinds of things – like whether others like us, are bored by others, or the kind of impression we’re making.
2. Try to uncover the roots of your anxiety. There may be a variety of reasons for feeling self-conscious, such as having had a bad experience in the past, feeling that you’re with people who are very different from you, or feeling you’re with people who don’t understand you. Also, it may simply be that you’re more introverted so social situations are stressful for you. Understanding the reasons behind the feelings can help you address them in a more appropriate way.
3. Acknowledge the feelings as soon as they arise. That will enable you to start targeting them through positive self talk. For example, remind yourself that: “I always feel like this in these kinds of situations. I’m going to be okay. I usually cope – and don’t fall apart.”
4. Fake looking and acting calm, relaxed, and self confident. In time, you’ll find your feelings will change to match the way you appear on the outside.
5. Act warm and friendly. Being friendly helps to put other people at ease, and encourages them to open up and feel relaxed with you.
6. Try not to worry about what other people think. In reality, other people will often feel as nervous as you do. It’s just that they’ve learned how to cover it up. Also, some people think negatively about everyone. You’re never going to change this kind of person – and you don’t need their approval anyway!
7. Be kind to yourself. Praise, affirm and reward yourself for deciding to do something that’s difficult for you.

I had the day off work today, which was really nice. I was able to do some yoga, work on my blog, get some good writing in, clean the house, get dressed up, take some self portraits, run some errands, make dinner, watch tv with my hubby, and walk the dogs. All in all, a pretty good day i'd say. I think I'll finish it off with a little studying (for my yoga certification) and then call it a beautiful night ✌🏻️

Penelope
It’s possible that Penelope forgot to take her pills She’s petulant, and confident, and breaking all the rules. Particularly proud today – pesky, posh and prude Passing people boastfully with blatant attitude.
Patriarchal society is narrow minded in perspective They think a woman should be passive, pristine, polite and perfect Positive… Petite… Polished, pretty and profound Or else they wouldn’t bother even having her around.
These standards are impossible, improbable, imprudent… A woman can’t live up to that and logically she shouldn’t. Perturbed by all the poppycock the populace expects Penelope works pointedly to puzzle and perplexed.
Powerful, passionate, persuasive and proactive She’s positively brilliant, resilient, sharp and active She challenges the patriarchy proudly without fail… With help from other women, she’ll most certainly prevail

I want to take a few minutes to unpack a common criticism of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, namely that it glorifies abusive relationships, telling impressionable young girls that it’s okay if their boyfriends shout at them and get physically violent, because they can “fix them with their love.” While it’s easy to look at the movie’s reputation in pop culture and make that assessment based on the broad strokes, if you look a little closer you’ll see that this conclusion is complete hogwash. Let me explain why.

Im very passionate about human rights, and am completely disgusted by the abuse that occurs in our world, particularly towards women. With all the information surrounding the Stanford rape case that has been floating around recently, I started thinking a lot about the poor girl involved. I'm so inspired by her and her bravery in fighting for herself throughout this case. So it got me thinking. How can I help fight rape culture? How can I help women who have suffered sexual abuse and rape? How can I make a difference? I've seen letters to the victim. Letters to the rapist. Letters to the rapists father and family. I've seen Kind words for this woman everywhere, from people who just want to help. Here's how I can help: I want to build a website. To create a community where women who have been subjected to sexual abuse can come together to connect and share their stories. Where they can find support in a community of other women who have been through similar situations. I want it to be legit. A real community. I want to invest a lot into this website, but I need help. I need assistane in gaining the funds that Are necessary to create the community that I am envisioning. To start helping women who have been raped. To get people talking. To try and make a difference. Will you help me? Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Let's help women come together. Lets build a community where people can safely share their stories. Let's help rape victims come together and heal. Thank you.
