Bart did not let go of Artemis and probably wouldn’t unless she pried his fingers off, soaking up the warmth of the woman’s body with a bright smile. He nuzzled her neck and looked back up at her curiously.

“I just wanted to say hi.” He said, giggling. “Andand- I wanna play!”

The shove was probably warranted. But that didn't mean Bart wasn't offended by the action. He was shoved off with a bit of a huff, aiming a very playful pout at her. How dare she! This was their long-awaited reunion! To be so careless! Oh, it was the worst! Nah. He knew she was like this. And he admired her for it. A little tough love wouldn't get rid of this spitfire he had.

As she stood up, he did too, practically bouncing up and down on his heels in excitement. That wide, goofy smile, was not going anywhere. She'd have to see that thing in her sleep.

"How have I been? How have you been??" He enthusiastically parrots back, laughing, "I've been....okay. Survivin'. Being the best I can be." He jabbed a thumb to his chest in slight pride, totally not overcompensating for something else, "But I really, really missed you. You're lucky I don't forget anythin' cause if I did, your face would've been totally missed by me. And how terrible that would be."

"Obviously I didn't hide good enough." There's a touch of sarcasm behind her words as Artemis gave the kid a tight squeeze around his shoulders before promptly shoving him off so she can sit up.

Once sitting up, he gets another affectionate clap to the shoulder;; as a smile finally breaks her own lips. "How ya been, kiddo?"

He doesn’t even reply for a moment which definitely was unusual for him; it just meant he was soaking up Artemis’s warmth and presence. Could one blame him? How long had it been? So when he finally went to reply, golden eyes focused on her with the most love imaginable laced in them. He still has yet to let go of her.

“But that would ruin the surprise” A playful whine went along with this, “You been hiding from me? I missed ya so much!”

He just leaned into her touch when she played with his hair, smiling much wider. Oh yeah, he didn’t want this interaction to end.
