Some people are just born to fight, I think. It’s not that they’re born brave. It’s not that they’re born strong. It’s just that the universe has decided that this one, this one will have grit and fire and steel in their blood. And it’ll be tested, this cosmic mettle of theirs. They’ll face trial after trial, be broken and damaged in countless ways. But this one was born to fight. Maybe it’s not the life they would have chosen. Maybe they’d love to lay down their arms. But they were born to fight. It’s what they know. It’s what they do best. It’s all they can do.

Just did the tauren heritage armor quest and omg... it was actually good! I really liked it. And got some new armor to boot! I might make it IC that she aided Bloodhoof village. Very neat quest line. Need to level up my highmountain so I can get their armor now.

Honoring the Fallen
The winds blew through Orgrimmar, the dust kicking up and swirling around the massive crowd that stood to honor the fallen hero of the Horde in the Valley of Strength. The wind tussled the wheat colored mane of the Sunwalker. Her violet eyes watery, her face stoic. Heartache and pain soured her face, which sported new gashes and cuts from the skirmish. “Did… Did you know him? Personally I mean…” A gruff voice said to her left side.
Brugran was just a pup during the many wars. He’d only heard of the tales of Varok Saurfang’s great battles. He was here to honor a hero but the look in Bear’s eyes said this affected her more than him. His steel blue eyes searched hers as she looked at him. A tear rolling down her pale creamy fur. She didn’t wince as the salty tear spilled into an angry wound on her cheek.
“Not as personal as Thrall…” She said looking up at Jaina. It was odd, to say the least, seeing the Alliance within Orgrimmar. But their show of respect gave her hope. “I served under him in Northrend. In the Borean Tundra… Fighting those damn bugs… His son was a fine warrior too…” Silence fell a moment between them. “Never thought I’d see the boy king in person. Let alone in Orgrimmar.” Bru’s voice lifted in a light chuckle.
Bear smiled. “I imagined him to be shorter to be honest.” She mused. Brugran scoffed a chuckle. “I bet if you asked him nicely, he’d bring you some dwarven ale.” She added. Bru laughed at this. Happy for a fleeting moment that her humor was not lost on this somber day. But Bear didn’t let this last long. “One person tore down everything I nearly died for… What he died for… The Horde is all but… Shattered…”
Deep sorrow laced the old warrior tauren’s voice. Anger shaded her eyes as tears welled from them. “Mama Bear don’t you start talkin’ like this.”  Brugran replied laying a heavy hand on Bear’s arm. “The pieces are still there. I know… I’m still a young pup and… I’ve not seen what you have… but I know we’re tough as kodo hide. The Horde is tough... “ She looked at him, almost as if the great tauren had given up hope.
“Look I’m not very good at this sorta thing. The whole comforting thing. But… Well look.” He motioned to both Horde leaders and Alliance conversing with one another. “That’s something right? We will rebuild. We will survive. We’ll take those shattered pieces and mold something new.” He thumped his heavy fist against his chest. “Lok’tar, Mother Bear. Lift that cloud of dark thoughts because young pups like me are looking to old veterans like you… For guidance and strength.”
Bear smiled, which caused more tears to well from her eyes. Before Brugran could protest she untucked her lame left arm from its sling and tugged the young orc into a hug. “Oh. no, no. This-This did not warrant a hug… Please stop… Bear… You’re embarrassing me…” but she ignored his pleas and hugged him tight. “Owachi, little lion cub.” Bru’s cheeked flushed with embarrassment at the childhood name his own mother called him. “Please don’t… call me that... I’m dying inside... Let me go…” Brugran was visibly distraught but only fought against her mothering gently.
Eventually she did let him go, which allowed Brugran to jolt a step away from her and shake off the motherly affection. “Owachi.” She thanked him again in her native tongue. “For setting my head straight.” She was met with a furrowed brow and a scowl, but she ignored this. The two remained silent and watched the rest of the event. Only dispersing when the Alliance leaders had left and the crowd began to move.

OOC Babble! What’s Bear up to?
So... I think those who follow this blog know that I haven’t been active and that’s because the story choices in BfA (and Legion) literally broke me. But I love Bear and still think about her and her place in WoW. I miss playing her and because of Classic I popped on my moo mom.  Today a friend told me about the recent cinematic.
I have not watched it. I made him tell me the outcome because I didn’t want to rage today lmao. But it got me thinking about Bear and her place in the story currently.
For those curious this line sums it up:
Tumblr media
Bear would be a one man army. Rage and fury consuming the Sunwalker to the point of killing anyone and everyone standing for Sylvanas’ army. She’d not take this lying down. I imagine her using hit and run tactics with her argus talbuk, riding in a small scout party of loyal Sylvanas soldiers. Cutting them down and riding away before more could assist.
After what I heard the out come is (NO SPOILERS HERE) she’d lose her shit. Bear would not stop killing Horde loyal to Sylvanas or those who’s honor is too misplaced. Not until they were driven from ‘her’ Horde.
Basically Bear would become a villain, I guess to some. Ugh this type of character development is something I would DIE to role play out.

Her mother taught her to heal and although Bear showed great promise with her druidic healing abilities, she often followed her father and trained as a brave. She lacked the ability to take animal forms so instead trained with a sword. Which her father happily helped her in training. He also taught her much of the values she holds today.
ADULT LIFE.

relationship tendencies. There was only one man for Bear. But if another somehow caught her attention she’d go in to the relationship loyal, tender and with the intent of staying til death takes one of them. She would protect her lover and would enjoy fighting at their side should battle call upon them. In a home setting she’d cook and make sure they never took ill.
MISCELLANEOUS.
hobbies to pass the time. She doesn’t often have down time, but when she does she enjoys drinking. (That’s a hobby right?) But she also enjoys a good book. Usually tales from her people or orcish people.
mental illnesses. None.
physical illnesses. She nearly lost her arm in Northrend and despite all the healing she received, it never healed right. She still has pain when it’s used too much and often carried it in a sling. She uses ointment and salves to keep much of the pain at bay. Although you’d not know most of the time that it bothered her.
left or right brained. Left Brained
fears. Bear lost her mate and many of those under her command in Northrend. She fears not being able to protect those she cares for or those under her command.
Vulnerabilities. Is someone were somehow able to deal a heavy blow to her left arm, it might stagger her or slow her for a moment. Emotionally it would be her son. Though he is not a child any longer, endangering him could be a weakness. Or a very stupid move. She’s also predicable in her honor and loyalty. This could be considered a vulnerable weakness.

Hey there! Here with an ask! 4: Does anyone have a crush on your character? Is your character aware of this? 10. Would your character ever kill someone? 35: What is unique about your character? 56: What’s one of your character’s quirks?
Answering for Bear!
4: Does anyone have a crush on your character? Is your character aware of this?
If your asking other people’s characters, the answer is… I donno? I don’t think so but if you count my own characters then the answer is yes. I have an old orc whom is a very close friend of Bear’s whom fought with her in Northrend. After going through trials and tragedy together he’s said “If you were an orc, I’d marry you.” It was clear to Bear that he fell in love with her but the race barrier was enough for him to not act on his feelings. Not to mention Bear simply wouldn’t be romantically interested in an orc.
10. Would your character ever kill someone?
Bear would not murder, if that’s what your asking. But if they were trying to take her life or the life of a friend or family… She absolutely would take theirs first.
35: What is unique about your character?
Bear has a lame arm, her left arm. She can use it but not to hold a sword or shield. She nearly lost the arm in Northrend and despite extensive healing it’s never returned to full use. But she wields her sword in her right hand just fine and can cast some spells with her lame arm. Although she still wears a sling to rest it when it aches from overuse.
56: What’s one of your character’s quirks?
Bear seems oddly pick with her food. She’ll eat vegetables and fruits first before the meat in the meal. Ask her why and she’ll say “I save the best for last.”
Thank you @ratonwolfmane!

21 and 31 from the OC ask please! <3
Gone write this for my Tauren sunwalker Bear.
21. What personal problems/issues do they have? Pet peeves?
Bear does have a personal issue with goblins, though you’d not see it come out in more then passing annoyance. Their race is known for greed and lack of compassion for the natural world. This alone is enough to get on her nerves. But she tolerates them. Not all goblins are horrible scum bags.
As for pet peeves? It absolutely bugs her as a brave trainer and warrior if a weapon is not well maintained. Dull sword? Cracked mace? Drives her nuts.
31. What is their most traumatic memory/experience? What is their favorite memory?
Bear has a few traumatic memories. They say seeing death often numbs you over time so despite watching her friends and fellow soldiers die, it’d have to be the loss of her mate. Which was the first death of s loved one she’d dealt with.
She’d only given birth to their son just days before and she was still weak when quillboar attacked them. He saved the life of his infant son and Bear but succumb to his injuries in her arms.
Thank you for the ask!
Her favorite memory is of her son. He was very young and asked to be a black bear for Hallow’s End. Then asked to be painted as his father did and asked for the feathers and beads he wore in his Druid form. Bear might have cried all night but seeing her son embrace the father he never knew still warms her heart.

Ready Set Let’s GO!
Felt like writing so I looked for a prompt. Went with this one by @witterprompts. Inspired by the song ‘Ready set let’s go’ by Sam Tinnesz.
“You look ready to fight… You always look ready to fight.” The aged orc said to the tauren. The orc was grizzled, aged with white hair and a missing eye. Many scars covered his green skin and his blazen red eye pierced the female tauren before him. His red and silver plate armor was dented, scratched and worn from many battles. His Horde tabard stained with the blood of the fallen. He held a shield up, looking through the spikes as he gripped his axe in the other hand. Heavy boots crossed one another as he circled the tauren woman.
She was clad in brilliant pale gold and silver armor studded with ruby gems. Her own armor was also dented, scratched and worn from many battles. Her cream colored fur showed a battle scarred body. A crimson cloak covered her left shoulder, hiding her lame arm while she effortlessly wielded a massive sword gilded in gold inlay and ruby gems in one hand. A holy light emanating from the weapon. Her blonde hair tussled across her muzzle as her lavender eyes pierced the orc.
The Sunwalker stabbed her sword into a fallen Horde flag, consecrating the fabric with holy magic and burning it away. “You should know I am always willing to fight when honor is on the line.” The dark ranger behind the orc growled, “Traitor! You desecrate the Horde flag! Stop toying with her Ukral and kill her.” There was more loyal to the Dark Lady then Bear cared to fight but she’d been in worse odds. The wild card was Ukral and those under his command.
The reddish lion laid in the grass staring at Bear. The druidess’ amber eyes looking at her and back at her orcish commander. The Dragonmaw archer gripped her bow, shifted her weight. Fingers twitching the arrow held tight against the bow strings. Lastly the one Bear knew well. The young orc held a sword made of bone but he refused to raise it high. His steel blue eyes looking at her with tension and fear. She could tell he wouldn’t fight her.
“Remember what I said to you on that frozen peak in Northrend?” Bear said to Ukral. A steady growl eased from his throat. “No pain… No Victory…” He said as he somewhat became foggy remembering that dark day in cold hell. “On this day we fight not just for the Horde…”
“But for the Alliance. For all of Azeroth. Fight for glory.” She added. “Or die with honor.” He finished her words. “Are you ready to die with honor, Commander Ukral Bloodsnarl?” The tauren said with a dark tone. Holy light pulsed from her sword. “I donno Legionnaire Skamato ‘Bear’ Sunstone. Are you?” He scoffed with a playful laugh.
The tension was so thick if someone should move the wrong way they’d be cut. The air seemed the choke those surrounding to two old warriors. She was severely outnumbered with Ukral’s warriors and the Forsaken soldiers loyal to the Warchief. “I’ve been ready to die with honor since the day I picked up a sword.” She barked back, her tail swaying.
“Shame you wont die.” Ukral said with a snarl. That was the words the druidess needed. A ferocious roar ripped from her throat of the great cat druid as she lunged. But not for the Sunwalker. Her jaws slammed down upon the dark ranger that tried to bark orders at her commander. Crushing the undead elf’s skull. The Dragonmaw woman and young prc stood dumbfounded a moment before Ukral roared and shield slammed the nearest forsaken, hacking at them viciously with his axe.
A golden hammer flung through the air as Bear herself charged into the loyal soldiers. She swung her sword in an arch knocking back a couple of soldiers standing next to the young orc. “And you thought you were gonna have to fight me, huh Brugran?” She teased. The blonde haired orc huffled and turned to attack the forsaken. “Fuck yea I did. Pretty sure I was gonna die too.” He remarked.
“Not this day.” Bear replied as an arrow flew past her face and embedded in a forsaken rogue sneaking behind her. “Bear shot her a look to which the lady orc replied with a wink before letting loose another arrow. Ukral’s loyal followers stood on this day, beside the one they were meant to kill. There was no going back now. They were all traitors.
