Drabble
Traditionally, a drabble is a piece of fiction that is exactly 100 words long. However, it is not uncommon for people to label any extremely short piece of writing a "drabble". This is known to irritate some readers, while others consider the distinction unimportant.
The word "drabble" has also spawned a number of related terms to represent variations on the 100 words theme, such as double drabble (or double) to refer to a fic of exactly 200 words, and pentadrabble to refer to a fic of exactly 500 words.

Palm-of-the-hand Stories
“Palm-of-the-Hand Stories” is a collection of 70 very brief stories by Nobel Prize-winner Yasunari Kawabata that were written between the early 1920s and 1970s. It contains poetic depictions of emotions, a focus on feelings rather than understanding. These stories present the chaos of the human heart, the kind often hidden in daily life but unleashed in private moments.

Drunk Words Are Sober Thoughts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sun started to set and Jasper let out a sigh. His clammy hands grasping onto the string of his backpack and avoids the bugging stares of those people who saw him. By the looks of it, he already knew what was happening. Standing in front of his house, he opened the gate and heard his mom spilling drunken words no sane people could understand. Jasper had been trying so hard to make her stop chugging down beers and alcohol yet she never listened.
Of course she won’t listen, Jasper is just her step son anyways.
Removing his shoes, he placed it on the rack and entered the house. It reeked of alcohol and vomit, cans and bottles scattered, and his mom was crying. Jasper muttered a cuss and ran towards his step mother. He asked her why she was crying but the lady just held onto him.
“I have always been a bad mother. Son, I am so sorry.”
He gulped and suppressed the tears from falling, instead, he pulled her closer and sighed, muttering words which now Jasper understood and he knew it came from her heart. Not stopping himself from it, he let the hot tears fall from his eyes.
“Stop reminding me that I am a great mother when all I do is make you feel unworthy, I know I keep on not focusing on you but I am trying my very best. We are not related by blood, but my heart and mind knows you care about me and I do the same way too. Son, please don’t give up on me.” She said, not minding if her mouth was against Jasper’s clothed chest.
He just held her close and whispered words of comfort, sniffing and wiping his tears away as well. The thing is, his mother never talked this way when she isn’t drunk. Ever.
Jasper now believes the saying all his friends who drink a lot would say:
Drunk words really are sober thoughts.
