The PS2/Gamecube/XBox era was the last truly great era imo. The 360 era stumbled over itself repeatedly and there are horror stories about all three consoles but still turned out some great games, and then it's been a slow fall to mediocrity while Nintendo's fucked off to the corner

ps2 era really was a good era for a lot of games
