i don't know what it is about Daisuke that makes him my favorite character and why his death is so devastating to me

maybe its something to do with the fact we're both very young adults and I'm just as aimless. something about me having graduated months ago but still having no job or idea of what i want to become, leading to my mother harping on me and going out of her way to try and find me a job herself

maybe its because I'm such a mama's boy, that i can't help but think about what Daisuke's must think when her baby boy doesn't come home. when its inevitably found out he died in space during a job he didn't want. a job she found for him. something to do with the way i think about how my own mother would feel if i were to die before her. if it was indirectly caused by something she did or influenced. maybe thats why i like him so much.

maybe its the way i see his adoration for Swansea in myself. the way my own father doesn't care for me so i find myself attached to father figures like Swansea. maybe the reason Daisuke's death hits so hard is because of the way Swansea had to put his poor useless ray of sunshine out of the misery caused by something completely avoidable. something something the fact that Daisuke died on Swansea's bed because it likely brought him more comfort.

or maybe its just cuz i think he's silly. who knows.
