Okay, so someday I need a Superman thing where it's just Superman flying desperately after Streaky the cat who has the zoomies. Streaky the cat does the little paw bap and knocks a water tank off a roof. Streaky the cat chasing cars and rabbit kicking them while Superman shouts his apologies to everyone involved and tries to pry Streaky's claws out of a tire.
#sometimes my brain has to go somewhere happy when things are so tough and scary#Superman#Streaky the cat

Yo, my easily bruised heart is SO GLAD I'm not watching TFatWS looool. Like... Legit so happy. I went through so much emotional pain after Steven Universe, what I've been seeing from fandom is just that part two electric boogaloo. Right down to the black women are scary.
I don't need another Garnet situation to remind me that fandom still looks at black bodies like props or emotional support magical negros. I already know.
#because fandom or the show itself will inevitably remind me that really they're playing a Political Correctnesz game#and they can pat themselves on the back for minimal 'wokeness'#just so long as you don't have to like or empathize with them

Headcannon:
Clark has to cut his hair every week with some maintenance days in between as the hair on his head naturally grows out super fast, but it's made worse by the whole yellow sun thing. By the end of the week, if he isn't careful, he has his super 90s hair. A month with no attention and he looks like ripped Rapunzel.
Martha has some pictures of a very happy Cousin It looking toddler Clark because there was a whole month that he'd wriggle out of a haircut and they were too busy with the farm work and it just got out of hand.
#superman hc#random thoughts#his face doesn't grow as fast because of his laser treatment lmao#haircuts with your eyes sound rough

Who supports the supporting character? Who do they get to lean on? How many fic have I read about Bruce being openly sad and Clark uplifting him and supporting him?
Do we assume support characters have no needs cause they're happy and we don't want to think they're otherwise? Cause they're nice, and therefore people love them? Love is support? But, being loved doesn't mean you get support from your loved ones. You can be loved, truly and genuinely, and not be supported. People can assume you're fine just because you're perceived as being 'nice' and 'helpful' and 'upbeat', but no one considers the flip side where you wind up feeling less like a person and more like a therapist cheerleader. Where you feel guilty to feel sad because you can 'handle it', so you push aside yourself over and over for others because you care so much about others to your own detriment. Kind people sometimes spend all their time helping that that's what people think their identity is.
Basically, I'm tired and emotionally tapped out from being a caretaker and I would like to read some Superbat where Clark is comforted and cared for, please. Just some nice comfort fluff if anyone has any recs lmao.

TW for assault!!!
Rewatching Superman the animated series again again! And here's me, completely forgetting how deeply uncomfortable I was as a child watching Lashina imply she and Superman were lovers, only to watch it now as an adult and think to myself that they sure did slide raping Superman into that series and nobody blinked. Like not one person. I almost feel like I nightmare-d it even now.
Literally, that's it... I just needed to get that out cause it hurt me so deep and then it was ignored quite literally by everyone it seems.
#actually kinda Rudy too#so twice I guess#Just weird observation things#I'm probably deleting this later ahaha#definitely am

(fic snippet) superbat
So, I had not intended to write a sequel to thirteen, the superbat nanny!AU I posted part of here.
But I got curious about how Clark would have felt about his parents lying to him about his abilities. I’m a bit self conscious because I think everyone thought, if there was another part, it’d be fluffy and super happy but I think Clark would be at least a little upset about not knowing about this part of himself.
So, here’s a little bit. I had ideas about how the children’s lives would progress with their different interests and Bruce’s parenting style, etc. I hope you all like this part. It’s Clark centric. Light angst, appearance from the Wayne children and Martha Kent.

In all of the comics I’ve read and the Smallville I’ve watched, I can’t remember if we’ve ever heard about Martha Kent’s extended family? Or Jonathan’s? Are they still alive? Are they all country folk?
I’m just trying to imagine a (slightly) Sweet Home Alabama type story where Bruce goes to Smallville while he and Clark plan their wedding and Bruce has to interact with all of these loud country folk and he’s completely overwhelmed.
I’m just saying, imagining Bruce giving in to Clark’s desire to have a country wedding is a pretty amusing set up for a fic.

Where's the Superman fic where everyone just thinks Clark is psychic growing up? Like they legit think he can hear supernatural things and Just Knows when people are lying and Clark just goes with it cause honestly what can he say? And then he just winds up being the nerdy boy in school people pay a buck to to see if their crush thinks about them (who ofc he matchmakes and also gives them back their dollar, because he would never).
Also, where's the fic where Clark's super vision is so refined that he starts seeing ghosts? He talks all friendly to someone in the auditorium during a particularly boring assembly. Then his friends look at him like, 'dude, are u ok who are you even talking to?' and he has to artful dodge in a way that's polite to his friends AND the ghost.
And oh boy him and Gotham. Gotham, where ghosts move to because they love the cities vibe. Gotham, where the Metropolis ghosts retire to after getting blinded for the hundredth time by their silly Art Deco gold windows.
When Clark visits Bruce, he's just gotten into the habit of not talking on the streets. Because unless they're jangling their Christmas Story chains he literally can't tell, but he still tries not to bump into anyone. So he's just this large weird polite guy who sometimes walks like he's playing a private game of some of the floor is lava.
Where is that specific weird Clark sees dead people and it's rather inconvenient fic?

And now I’m imagining an AU where Bruce met Clark as a circus performer for Haly’s Circus. One in which Clark was adopted by the Kents but through some sort of conspiracy, he’s taken away and ends up in the circus. Maybe the Kents made a deal with Haly or he just had a soft spot for Clark but they take him in and he’s their star attraction. A strong man with impenetrable skin and seemingly no weaknesses. Performing gives Clark a new sense of pride he never had before. No more hiding or living in fear that someone will discover his secret. He bonds with Richard Grayson, often watching him so his parents can have a night out every once in a while.
When Bruce Wayne ends up at the circus one night, he’s enamored with Clark and rather curious about the “tricks” behind his act. When the Grayson’s die and Bruce takes Dick Grayson in as his ward, Clark comes to visit. They work the case together and fall in love in the process.
(but honestly, the greatest draw for me is imagining Clark growing up in a diverse environment where he was very much aware that he was different but it was not only welcome, but encouraged.)

Mild mannered reporter Clark Kent drowning in student loans and taking a (very very unwanted) job as a nanny for Bruce Wayne’s brood of children.
Clark Kent wanting so badly to quit after Jason uses two year old Damian to lure him towards a trip wire above the stairwell.
Clark Kent nearly pulling his hair out when he can’t get Dick to stop swinging from the chandeliers.
Clark Kent fearing he’s terrible at the job when he can never get Tim to go to sleep and he can’t find Cassandra half the time.
Clark Kent only ever getting a moment of peace when Duke and Stephanie come over to visit.
Clark Kent trying to make up for the time Bruce can’t be home and growing helplessly attached to these kids.
Clark Kent unable to stop himself from growing helplessly attached to their dad.
Basically, Clark Kent in a damn Hallmark movie.
